When the alpha prince left the brothel, I was immediately put to work by Stella. Since she cannot make profits on me because I cannot take up new customers, I need to do some errands and complete jobs for her.

“Keep on brushing those carts Aurora,” Selene, the current biggest money-maker in the house, mocked me while I was in the back of the kitchen doing everything to brush away the stain on carts.

“I guess you will forever stay here in the kitchen for the rest of your life. Do you really think that the cruel alpha prince would come back for a prostitute like you?” She laughed and jabbed a finger on my head. “I don’t know who raised you, but they sure know how to put some fairy tales in your head. A lowly woman like you won’t have any chance with the alpha prince. Wake up, Aurora. He won’t come back for you. you are just delusional to stay here.”

I stopped washing the carts and glared at her. I have so much mission on me more than dealing with this diva being threatened by me.

“If he won’t come back for me, then I will make sure to come to the palace for him. I trust the alpha prince’s words, Selene.”

“Trust?” she gasped and laughed after. “No one trusts that handsome barbaric man, you idiot! Her ex-wife is my friend and she recounts to me how overbearing and cruel he is! He only loves no one but his faceless mate that no one knows about!”

“Mate?” I stood up and frowned at her. “Do not lie. The alpha prince doesn’t have a mate. He does not have one!”

How could I get close to him if he already has someone in her heart? How could I still kill him if he already has a woman by his side? How could I take my revenge against him now?

“William has a mate but she mysteriously vanishes into nothingness leaving the alpha prince in deep pain.”

She studied my face and smirked as fury blew in her eyes. “This might be a banned topic in the palace but we are at Roan. I even heard the rumors that the alpha prince always comes here because his mate used to teach here.”

“Where is his mate now? Why is he acting like he does not have one? Why did he marry those two women when he already has a mate?”

I saw the hesitation in her eyes as she took out a cigarette and lit it in front of me. “As I’ve said, she just vanished into thin air and then the alpha prince changed drastically. He used to be the darling of the crowd. He is looked upon and respected so much but due to immense pain he felt, he erased all of his memories about his mate. He chose to forget her completely rather than dwell with the fact that he already lost him.”

While I sympathized with the alpha prince with his tragic experience, I can’t help but feel rebellion.

Whatever he had gone through, nothing would justify what he had done to my kind. He is still a murderer!

“Do not fall for him, Aurora. You will only be hurt. Leave this place and live your life,” Selene said and turned her back.

I ran up to her and blocked her path. I have to clarify one thing.

“How did you know all about this? Why are you telling me this, Selene?”

Is she seriously worried about me or threatened by me?

She stared at me before breathing hard. “Because I don’t want you to be like me. I was also promised to be the wife to the alpha prince but I never got the chance to even eat at the same table with him. I know what it feels like to be waiting forever for someone who will never come. I am only saving you from being one.”

And then she walked away out of my sight.

“So, the alpha prince had a mate but she died. He can’t cope up with the loss so he erased his memories and is now living his life tormenting lycans,” I summarized what I learned today. “But still, that is not an excuse for what he did to us!”

“Aria! Aria!” A voice called me from the other side of the gate.

“Lola!” I exclaimed and ran towards her while making sure there were no guards around that could see us.

“What are you doing here? Please, leave now before they see you!”

But she only smiled at me and reached for my hand. “Aria, the lycan prince contacted me. He asked me to tell you that he will be waiting for you at the border of Roan later at six in the evening. Aria, he promised me that he will take the both of us as his wives so we can make a new pack again.”

I blinked several times when I did not get the hang of what she meant.

Me and Lola as his wives? What are we? His baby machines?

“No, I won’t come back to him not until I do what I came here for. Lola, I will make the alpha prince pay for what he did to our village! I will kill him!”

Her smile disappeared when she heard that.

“So you won’t come with us?” she clarified.

“Yes, I won’t come with you as of now. I still need to do what I set my mind into!”

“Bullshit!” Her eyes widened at me in anger. “Your responsibility is to do what the lycan prince wants him for you to do, Aria! Not what you wanted to do!”

“No, Lola. I already made up my mind. I won’t go with you. I will remain here and do what I came here for.”

“Really?! After everything he’d done for you?! Is this how you are going to repay the lycan prince, Aria?! He should not have saved you! He should have done what I told him and just let you rot in the mountain, you bitch!” she screamed at my face before jumping back down and disappearing back into the woods.
