The Alpha Prince's Abused Mate Chapter 62
ALANA
A soldier guarding Sophia’s room in the mansion stopped me from opening the door when I visited her to check up on her. “Ambassadress, you can’t be here. You are not allowed to be here. The alpha and the luna specifically ordered you to keep you from approaching their daughter.”
I showed him William’s badge with his blood soaked in it. “I have the blessing of the alpha prince. Do you dare to go against his wishes?”
He sniffed it and when it was confirmed that it was indeed the alpha prince’s blood, he bowed before me and opened the door for me. “I am sorry, ambassadress.”
“Thank you.”
I entered the room to a laughing Sophia watching television and chatting with someone on her phone. Her bandages are on the floor and her whole skin is already healed from the whip marks.
That doctor and healer must have cost so high for the results to be this fast that I can’t help but feel some faint scars on my arms that are still there no matter how many times William’s doctor treats me.
She said it will still take months before it will be completely healed. That is how deep the scars they left in my body are.
“Hey, slice that apple for me,” Sophia said while still glued to her phone. “What took you so long?” she hissed and turned towards me. “I said sl-”
Her whole face drained out of color when she saw me. “Alana! What are you doing here?!”
I smiled at her while picking up the knife on the floor to peel the apple for her. “Isn’t it obvious? I am here to check up on you as your sister, Sophia. Aren’t you happy to see me?”
I walked up to her as she moved to the farthest side of her bed. “I am not! No one will be happy to see you! Mommy! Daddy! Where are you?”
My smile got bigger as I sensed some kind of fear in her voice. She must start to feel the same thing that I felt back then. “They are not outside because I ordered them to run an errand for me.”
“What?!” she gasped out loud in disbelief. “How dare you boss my parents around?!”
I took my time peeling the apple while staring at some blemishes on her face. Now that I am this close to her, I realize that her face is not as flawless as I once envied. “Sophia, you look more beautiful than ever. This color suits your face more, don’t you think so?”
She cleared her throat and looked at herself discreetly from the mirror on the wall. “Aren’t you traumatized by what dad did to you? How many beatings did you receive? A thousand? And you are still standing. Aren’t they enough?”
I laughed when she said that. “What did dad do to me?” I walked to the mirror and smiled at Sophia from the reflection on my image. “He did not do anything to me, Sophia. Why would he hurt her daughter who made him proud?”
“What?!” she whispered and got out of the bed to face me. “What did you say?”
I crossed my arms and grinned at my sister whom I used to be hella scared of too. “I am an ambassadress now bearing the name of the king and I have the alpha prince beside me. Isn’t that something a father would be proud of?”
I watched in delight as her face burned in embarrassment. “Look at you, Sophia. You have no achievement. You cannot even properly transform into a wolf without wounding yourself.”
She slapped me hard on the face. “Shut up!”
But then, I slapped her harder than she did, the blade of the knife faintly kissing her skin scratching it deeply.
“Why would I when I am telling the truth? The child you have been abusing in the basement is now higher in ranks among every one of you and is favored by the alpha prince. Isn’t that something to be proud of?”
Sophia backed down holding her bloodied face, shock written all over her face.
No one would be able to predict that I will be able to do this to her.
“And I am going to use this power given to me to make your life, your mother’s life and the alpha’s life as miserable as I suffered back then. I will get my justice by doing that!”
“I won’t let you!” she fired back. “Dad and mom won’t let you!”
I grabbed her collar and smiled madly at her. “This time, it’s you who cannot do anything but watch in horror.”
I pushed her away and walked out of the door shaking in anger. I cannot believe I was able to do that. I cannot believe I could even do that to Sophia!
“Take that away, please,” I said when I saw the maids carrying platters of food for Sophia.
“But ambassadress, it is the food for Madam Sophia,” one of the five of them answered.
“I know that’s why I am ordering you to take that away. No one will give her food for today unless dad and mom said so until they returned from their long trip back home. Do you understand me?”
They looked at each other before lowering their gazes and nodding. “Yes, ambassadress.”
They left without much choice while Francine came to console me.
I lifted my eyes at her and began breaking down. “Francine, am I such a bad person for doing that? Am I wicked now? Evil? Just like them? She’s my sister and I did that to her. I know how it feels to be hungry and still, I did that to her.”
She wiped off my tears and shook her head as she led me away. “No, none at all, Alana. That woman deserves it. The difference between the two of you is that she did that to you with an openly wicked heart while you did that to her with your kind heart bleeding from the inside. It’s okay. It’s the karma working. You are her karma.”
