The Alpha Prince's Abused Mate Chapter 151
ARIA
Lucas bowed before us, his eyes still fixated on our hands as he greeted the alpha prince.
“Alpha prince, forgive me for saying this but you should not be out and parading Aria. The alpha king is wary about your sudden changes. You have a wife, alpha prince. It is not good to see you with the other woman.”
But the alpha prince just opened his hand just to grip my hand tighter. “Lucas, since when did I take up any of your ill advices? I am the alpha prince. I know more than you do.”
The beta stood straight and looked into the eyes of the alpha prince, a move that I reckoned is a direct challenge to the alpha prince.
The atmosphere got intense and I found myself analyzing the situation. The alpha prince and the beta are known to be so close to each other so I do not know the reason why they are looking at each other like they’re about to transform and tear the other up.
“Alpha prince, I was put up by the alpha king to monitor your actions because he found you to be incapable of making sound decisions. I think this woman being around you is one of the things that you should not have done in the first place.
I glanced at William and thought that he would lose his cool but he just laughed and shook his head lightly.
“See, Lucas. This is the reason why you are the beta. What do you know about making sound decisions when you love to bite the hand that trusts you? My father put you in that position for a reason because he knows that you covet something from me that you can’t have.”
He raised out entwined hands together to show it off to him. “Aria will be with me whether the alpha king likes it or not. I want her to be by my side because she is the one I want, not the woman my father picked up for me.”
He glared at him before dropping a threat. “You know me, Lucas. I may be ruthless towards the enemies but I am more of a beast to my people that betrays me. You have been with me to wars. You just know who I am. The second you plot something against Aria, you will lose all your membranes in that same second. Do you understand me? You have disrespected me for so long now. I will not stand up here and take it all again and again.”
I felt chills all over me when he said that. Lucas looked unfazed but I can sense foreboding in him that he tried so hard to hide.
“Alpha prince, it’s fine,” I whispered into him. “I am fine. I think you just have to return me to the brother. I am not worthy to be the cause of your rift with the beta.”
But the alpha prince just smiled at me assuredly and squeezed my chin lightly. “Trust me. You are so worth it.”
Lucas must have caught something between us that he has to interrupt. “She is not Alana, alpha prince. That woman is dead! Do not mistake this prostitute for that honorable lady!”
“Who’s Alana?” William asked. “Tell me who is that lady you are referring to!”
I blinked, feeling confused before I realized what was happening. I am certain that I hear him call me with that name so why is he pretending that he does not know her? Why is the alpha prince lying that he does not remember his mate?
I don’t know precisely the reason why but my chest just tightened.
Lucas fell silent and just took in a long sigh. William’s eyes narrowed at him. “I am asking you who is this Alana you are talking to?!”
“Alpha prince, even if I tell you about her, you will still not remember her. We should not disrespect her memories just because you have buried her away from your memory.”
I felt his hand clenched a little too tightly around mine as he gritted his teeth.
“She must have been so important to me for my parents to intervene and make me forget her. Alana…” his voice trailed off when he stared at me, “must have been my everything.”
Lucas’ face turned grim. “But the fact remains that you forgot about him, alpha prince. You are incapable of keeping the people that matter that is why I needed to be here to keep you in check. That is my duty according to the alpha king.”
“I will tell him about her every day,” I cannot help but to speak up.
The two men looked at me with wide eyes.
“I am the alpha prince’s whore so I would be with him the whole night and when he wakes up. I will tell him about Alana. I will tell him about her story even if it takes me hours and hours every day to do that.”
William’s face lit up and he kissed my hand in pride. “Heard that, Lucas? I already found someone who’s loyal to me so why would I let her go? She’s precious. She’s worthy. She’s someone I want and I would never let go of her no matter what.”
“I did not betray you, alpha prince,” Lucas talked back. “You know I didn’t. Everything I did was for you.”
“You know damn well what I am talking about, Lucas. I already told you that I can accept anything but not betrayal, not when you act on your own interests masked as for my own sake. Open the door for us. We’re leaving.”
The beta did not have any choice but to obey. William assisted me to go inside while he remained by the car looking at his beta.
“Did you know why I have not abandoned you until now? Because I feel like you have done something good to me in the past. We are brothers, Lucas. We are one. Before. You and I have been with each other since we were kids. Confess to me the things that you’ve done and I will make a decision.”
Something in me was moved while looking at them. I’ve read about the kind of impeccable bond they have since then until the last five years when everything changed between them because of that one woman, because of that woman named Alana.
