“Alpha prince!” Minerva stood up from her seat the second I entered the room hurriedly.

I have to travel for hours just to come to the hospital where Alpha Killian is being treated to warn him to just shut his tongue-less mouth up.

“What are you doing here, alpha prince? Is my daughter with you? Are you two getting along well?” Minerva asked in a joyful tone. “Is she doing fine, alpha prince? Can I ask where she is?”

I threw her a cold look before saying, “Leave. I have to talk to your husband alone.”

She blinked, embarrassment all over her face before nodding. “Yes, alpha prince.”

I took the chair next to the pretending alpha and clasped my hands together. “I know you can hear me. This is the final warning to you, Alpha Killian. Stop whatever you are planning if you still want to live. Do not tell anyone about Alana if you still want your wife and daughter to live.”

He snapped his eyes open and clenched his jaws. I know he wants to say something but he can’t speak anymore.

“I know what you’re doing, Killian. You are still pretending to be unwell while ordering your men to do what you wanted.” I brought out a silver knife and held it on his neck. “I will do everything to keep you here, Alpha Killian. I won’t let you ruin me and Alana by telling my parents the truth. Order your daughter to leave the palace or else, I will make her to, you understand me? Hmm?”

I reviewed the footage on that night that I fell asleep and woke up to no recollection but I found nothing. What happened that night is still a mystery to me. I just know that I consumed something that erased my memory. Whatever it is, I have to find out sooner.

The alpha just grinned at me before closing his eyes back. Gritting my teeth, I stabbed his hand with the dagger and I can still hear his groans of pain before leaving the room.

“Alpha prince,” Minerva stopped me from totally leaving. “What is wrong with my daughter? I raised her to be the perfect bride that any man would want to have. Anyone can see how perfect Sophia is, alpha prince. I know Alana is your mate but it would be just easy for you to reject her. Why would you stay with a monster like her?”

I paused when I realized that Minerva also knew who Alana was all along. That is why it is so easy for her to abuse my mate.

“If there is a monster here then you don’t have to look far and wide to see them. You, your fucking husband, and your fucking daughter, are the real monsters here for abusing Alana!”

She gasped and brushed her hand over her hair. “You cannot find fault with us on this, alpha prince. What we did to her is not in any way an abuse. That is the only way to tame her! If we did not lock her up in the dungeon, then she would have wreaked havoc in the entire state. We just saved the whole pack from being plunged into the war again so why you, the son of the alpha prince, are planning to take her clan back to power?”

I grasped both of her shoulders and forced my words out. “Nothing will ever justify what you did to Alana. I don’t know why you are not yet telling the alpha king about Alana’s identity. Maybe you are just waiting for the perfect time to blackmail me again so I will draw the first card now.”

My claws came out wounding her in the process as the weight of my hate towards her intensified. “If you dare to say anything to my parents then I will make sure that your beloved daughter will live in a hell in the palace. What you did to Alana will be nothing in comparison to what I am going to do with her so if I were you, I will close and shut my damn mouth tightly!”

I pushed her aside and left her drained with any color.

I know my actions will be limited since the alpha king has his eyes closely on me. Unless I find the solution to this without compromising Alana, I can never come clean before my father.

When I arrived back in the palace, I looked for Lucas in his room but he was not there. I was about to leave when something caught my attention.

I crouched down and picked up a photo under his bed and frowned when I saw that it was a stolen picture of Alana.

“Why does he keep her photo here?” I muttered wondering what his deal was.

I put the photo in my pocket and went out only to find Lucas outside Alana’s practice room.

“Lucas,” I said from his back.

He hastily turned his back and bowed. “Alpha prince. Francine asked me to be here because you left the palace. I am just making sure Ms. Alana is safe from the two women,” he said referring to Georgia and Sophia.

I stared at him for a while before nodding. “Lucas, you know I hate people snooping around my business, right?”

“I know, alpha prince.”

“Good.” I tapped his shoulder once. “And you should know that I am being more territorial when it comes to my mate. You know how stingy I could be when it comes to Alana.”

He nodded reassuringly. “I am well aware about that alpha prince that is why I am doing the best I can to protect your mate while you are away.”

I studied him for a while before Alana’s sweet scent distracted me.

“Alana!” I called her name when she opened the door.

“William!” She jumped into my arms but not before glancing at Lucas, her smile fading for a second before putting it back on her face. “You are so early!”

I kissed her lips fully. “I came here to pick you up.”

“Are you already done with your duty? Did queen luna consent to this?”

“Don’t worry about them. I reckoned that it’s been a few weeks since we went to the lake. Don’t you miss our little wooden house?” I teased her, my heart easing when I saw how her face lit up. 

Her face reddened and gently punched my shoulders remembering what we did when we went there the last time.

She smiled at me sweetly. “I would love to.”

“Alpha prince! Alpha prince!”

A servant came running towards me. “The queen luna has lost her consciousness! The alpha king wants you in her chambers now!”
