Third person POV

Enzo’s chest tightened as the roar of the crowd echoed in his ears, drowning every thought but the sight of Lisa sprawled in the middle of the bloodied ring. Her body looked lifeless, her chest rising and falling shallowly, her skin pale and slick with sweat. For a brief, chilling moment, he thought her spirit had already left her body. Without a second’s hesitation, he broke through the circle, shoving aside the wolves who crowded too close, his boots echoing against the wooden floor of the ring box as he reached her.

“Lisa!” His voice cracked as he fell to his knees beside her, his arms slipping beneath her limp frame. She was drenched in blood—hers and Irene’s—but Enzo couldn’t tell which wound belonged to which. All he knew was that her pulse had to be there, had to still exist, or he would tear apart everyone in this place with his bare hands.

He pressed his ear against her chest for half a heartbeat before relief slammed through him like lightning—her heart was still beating, faint but steady. Without wasting another second, he scooped her up into his arms, ignoring the way blood smeared across his shirt and hands, ignoring the gasps and murmurs from the crowd. His only thought was to get her out of this hellish place and into safety.

At the same time, Bryan darted forward toward the opposite side of the ring, catching Irene before she could collapse completely. Her hair was matted with sweat, her breaths ragged as she clutched her ribs. Blood dribbled from her lip as she coughed, each movement betraying the pain cracking through her body. Bryan cradled her shoulders, whispering fiercely, “Irene, stay still. You’ll be fine, don’t move. I’ve got you.” His voice trembled with fear, but also pride, though his eyes darted nervously to the victorious chants rising from the crowd.

“Lisa! Lisa! Lisa!” they screamed, the name of the omega echoing like thunder, drowning Irene’s whimpers, drowning Bryan’s attempts to shield her from their mockery.

Ash, who had been near the edge, leapt up onto the ring in one swift motion, his voice booming through the frenzy. “Enough!” The crowd silenced instantly, all eyes snapping toward him. He raised his hand, his tone steady and commanding. “You all saw it with your own eyes. This was no ordinary match. Irene, of royal blood, challenged Lisa, an omega. And Lisa not only stood her ground—she won.”

The crowd erupted again, stamping their feet, howling in wild celebration. “Lisa! Lisa! Lisa!”

Ash’s gaze swept over the faces before locking onto Irene, who glared at him through blood and pride. “And according to the bet,” Ash continued coldly, “the loser will grovel before the winner, in front of everyone present.”

Gasps rippled through the hall, quickly followed by excited murmurs. All eyes darted between Irene, who struggled even to breathe, and Lisa, limp in Enzo’s arms.

Bryan shot up, fury burning in his veins. “This is madness! My wife will not humiliate herself before some omega! The fight was enough, she’s suffered enough! You can’t expect—”

Kael, who had been leaning casually against a post, pushed himself forward with a dark smirk spreading across his lips. His voice cut through Bryan’s protests like steel. “Do you want to be beaten like your wife? Because from where I stand, her mouth was the only thing sharp about her, and even that couldn’t save her.”

The crowd burst into laughter, cruel and mocking, the sound pounding in Bryan’s skull like drums. Some even clapped their hands, jeering at Irene who still leaned heavily on Bryan’s support.

“You bastard—” Bryan began, but the weight of the crowd’s laughter crushed his words. His throat burned as rage consumed him, but he could do nothing—not when Kael’s glare promised violence, not when Irene clutched at his arm with trembling fingers, silently begging him not to make this worse.

Ash’s hand flicked dismissively toward Irene. “The rules are rules. No one forced her into this challenge. She spoke her pride; now she must swallow it. Unless—” his eyes narrowed, “the royal blood wants to admit in front of all here that she cannot keep her word.”

Irene’s eyes burned red with shame and fury. Her body screamed in pain with every breath, her ribs aching with each twitch of her muscles, but her pride was louder than her wounds. The last thing she wanted was to become a laughingstock, a coward who couldn’t keep her own word.

Grinding her teeth, she forced herself to stand straighter, though Bryan tried desperately to hold her back. Her eyes locked onto Lisa, still limp but breathing, supported tightly in Enzo’s arms. Irene’s pride fractured like glass beneath the gaze of the crowd. Slowly, every muscle trembling, she sank to her knees in the blood-stained ring.

A silence fell across the crowd. Then Irene leaned forward, her forehead pressing against the floor before Lisa’s unconscious form, her voice shaking with rage but steady enough for all to hear. “I grovel before her… before an omega.”

The hall erupted. The chants of Lisa’s name grew deafening, their howls of victory rattling the wooden beams of the building. Wolves stomped their feet, some laughing, some shouting in disbelief, but all bearing witness to Irene’s humiliation.

Bryan’s face twisted in agony as he lifted Irene back into his arms, shielding her from the cruel eyes around them. The weight of defeat was heavy, pressing down on both of them as the crowd celebrated not them, not their pride, but Lisa—the omega who had shattered the arrogance of royal blood.

Meanwhile, Enzo pressed Lisa tighter to his chest, his jaw tight as he strode down from the ring. He didn’t bask in the celebration, didn’t care for the howls or laughter. All he saw was her pale face, her closed eyes, her fragile body threatening to slip away if he loosened his grip. He moved through the crowd like a storm, his presence alone forcing them to part.

“Move,” he snarled when someone lingered too close. They scattered instantly.

Ash trailed close behind, his eyes scanning the crowd, his voice booming once more. “The fight is concluded. Lisa is the winner. Celebration ends here. Let her rest.” His words quieted the frenzy enough for Enzo to move without interference.

Kael, still smirking, clapped his hands loudly. “What a day! Who would’ve thought an omega could shut the mouth of royal blood? History has been made!” He chuckled darkly, following behind Enzo and Ash, though his eyes burned with an amusement only he understood.

The crowd finally began to disperse, though whispers lingered, stories already spinning in their minds. An omega defeating Irene? It would be told and retold for years.

Enzo didn’t stop until he reached the inner halls, his heart pounding as he barked to the servants lingering nearby. “Prepare my room. Now. She needs treatment immediately.” His tone allowed no refusal.

They bowed quickly, rushing ahead to prepare the chambers. Enzo carried Lisa through the corridors, every step heavier as his arms grew slick with her blood. He didn’t care about the crimson staining him. All that mattered was that she survived.

Behind him, Ash gave a low sigh, shaking his head. “She surprised us all… even me.”

Kael chuckled again, folding his arms as he walked at a slower pace. “That girl… she’s not just an omega anymore. Today she showed them all.”

But Enzo didn’t respond. He only pressed his lips to Lisa’s temple, whispering fiercely under his breath, words meant only for her. “Don’t you dare leave me now.”

By the time they entered Enzo’s chamber, the bed had been prepared with clean sheets, bowls of water, and medical supplies. Enzo laid Lisa gently onto the mattress, his fingers brushing her blood-matted hair away from her face.

“Get the healer,” Enzo ordered sharply. The servants bolted out immediately.

For the first time since the fight ended, Enzo allowed himself to breathe. His eyes remained locked on Lisa’s face, his hand gripping hers tightly as though his strength alone could keep her tethered to life.

Outside, the echoes of celebration still lingered, but within this chamber, there was only silence, the fragile sound of Lisa’s breathing, and the burning weight of victory that had nearly cost her everything.
