Rejected By My Mate; Claimed By Lycan Quadruplets Chapter 155
Third person POV
The morning air buzzed with anticipation as the brothers moved through the estate, preparing for the trip. Atlas was checking the last of the luggage in the sleek, black van, making sure everything was perfectly balanced. Kael, true to his style, was lounging lazily on the porch, tossing a scarf in the air and catching it with a smirk, while Ash stood nearby, methodical and calm, overseeing the arrangements with a detached efficiency that somehow made everything run smoother.
Lisa, meanwhile, flitted from room to room, half-excited, half-panicked. Her hands were full of sundresses and casual shoes, and her mind raced as she tried to imagine the island, the boat ride, the party. She caught sight of Enzo in the hallway and immediately gravitated toward him.
“Enzo, do you think I packed enough?” she asked, holding up a pale blue dress. Her eyes were wide with excitement, and without thinking, she leaned against his chest.
He glanced down at her, catching her with a gentle arm around her waist. “You’ve packed enough,” he said, voice low and reassuring. “Trust me, everything else you need will be provided.”
She let out a small, relieved sigh and buried her face in his chest for just a moment longer than necessary, clinging to him like he could keep all her anxieties at bay.
Kael, from the porch, raised an eyebrow and whistled. “Wow, Enzo, you’ve really got her wrapped around your finger, huh?”
Enzo didn’t react immediately, simply adjusting the strap of the small bag he was carrying. Atlas, overhearing the comment, grinned. “She’s just being clingy because she’s excited. Relax.”
Ash gave a faint smirk, shaking his head slightly as he came closer. “Clingy? Perhaps. But it suits her. And I think she enjoys having someone she trusts close by.”
Lisa looked up at Enzo, her eyes bright and almost desperate. “I do. I really do. I just… I don’t want to mess anything up.”
Enzo leaned down slightly, brushing a soft kiss against her temple. “You won’t. Just enjoy yourself. That’s all I want.”
With everyone finally packed and accounted for, they departed in a convoy of sleek vehicles. Lisa sat in the van between Atlas and Kael, still clutching at Enzo’s hand every chance she got. Every glance from him, every smile, sent her heart racing. She leaned her head on his shoulder, murmuring soft questions about what awaited them, about the island, about the boat, and each time he answered, she hung on every word.
By the time they reached the marina, the anticipation had reached a fever pitch. The yacht that awaited them was massive, gleaming white against the sparkling blue of the water, ropes coiled neatly, flags fluttering lazily in the gentle breeze. Lisa’s eyes widened, her small hands gripping Enzo’s as if holding on would tether her excitement to something solid.
“It’s… it’s beautiful,” she breathed, hardly daring to move.
Enzo chuckled, a deep, warm sound that made her cheeks flush. “I told you it would be.”
Atlas gave a low whistle, running a hand through his hair. “Not bad, huh? You’ve never seen a boat like this before.”
Kael smirked. “You mean you’ve never seen anything like this, period.”
Lisa’s gaze darted between all of them, soaking in the luxury of the yacht, the crystal-clear water surrounding it, and the calm rhythm of the waves. She shivered slightly as Enzo gently wrapped his arm around her shoulders, pulling her close as if to remind her she belonged somewhere safe, somewhere extraordinary.
The journey to the island was smooth, the yacht cutting through the water effortlessly. Lisa leaned against Enzo for much of the trip, resting her head on his shoulder, clutching his arm, and occasionally stealing glances at the sun setting over the horizon, painting the sky in brilliant oranges and pinks. The world felt unreal, like a dream she hadn’t dared to imagine.
Once they arrived at the private island, the preparations for the party were immediately evident. Tables lined with food, soft lanterns dangling from trees, and music playing in the background created a festive atmosphere. The brothers moved with ease, greeting the staff, checking the lighting, and ensuring every detail was perfect.
Lisa lingered close to Enzo, allowing him to guide her through the setup, showing her where she would sit, which areas would be most comfortable, and even teasing her about how careful she had to be not to trip over any cords. She laughed at his attentions, pressing herself against him whenever the opportunity arose.
“You’re being very clingy today,” Enzo noted softly, running his hand down her arm.
“I can’t help it,” she whispered, smiling up at him. “It’s all so… overwhelming. And you’re here, so I just…” Her voice faltered, and she leaned in closer, pressing her cheek to his chest.
Enzo smiled, pressing a soft kiss to her hair. “I know. I like it. It’s fine.”
As the night progressed, guests began arriving. Friends, colleagues, and a few familiar faces from the surrounding cities came to celebrate Lisa’s birthday. She floated through the crowd with Enzo by her side, introducing him to everyone, though her hand never left his. Atlas, Kael, and Ash moved like shadows around them, ensuring everything ran smoothly while letting Lisa revel in the attention.
The party had a casual elegance to it, the kind that made people want to linger, to drink, to laugh, to forget the outside world for just a night. Lisa, encouraged by the festive atmosphere, allowed herself to indulge in the champagne offered to her. She laughed brightly, clinking glasses with Atlas and Kael, teasing Ash about his usual stoic demeanor, and all the while, she kept sneaking glances at Enzo, who watched her with that calm, dark intensity that always made her heart flutter.
One drink became two, two became three, and soon, Lisa was feeling the warmth of alcohol spread through her, loosening the tight coil of nerves she had carried all day. She leaned against Enzo more often, speaking louder, laughing more freely, and occasionally swaying slightly, though he held her steady each time.
“You’re getting tipsy,” Enzo murmured, his voice low in her ear as he brushed hair back from her face.
“I’m… I’m fine,” she slurred softly, giggling as she tried to straighten her posture.
He chuckled, pressing a hand to her back, steadying her. “Fine, huh? You’ve had a lot, Lisa.”
“I know… but it’s my birthday. I can… I can do what I want.”
“And what do you want right now?” Enzo asked, voice deep and teasing, though protective.
“I… I just want to stay here. With you,” she said, leaning into him fully, arms wrapped around his waist.
Enzo’s hand came up to stroke her hair gently, his eyes softening as he looked down at her. “You’ll always have me. Always.”
The party continued around them, the music swelled as the night darkened, and Lisa’s laughter grew louder, her movements more unsteady. She was completely caught up in the joy of the night, the indulgence of attention, and the warmth of Enzo’s presence. Soon, her words slurred more, and her steps wobbled as she tried to make her way across the deck to speak to Atlas, Kael, and Ash.
“Lisa,” Enzo murmured, his tone firm yet gentle, “you’ve had enough. Sit down.”
“I… I’m fine!” she insisted, though her voice betrayed her.
He guided her to a lounge chair, sitting her down and staying close, his hand resting protectively on her shoulder. She leaned against him, her head lolling slightly as she giggled uncontrollably, tipping her glass slightly too far and nearly spilling it before Enzo caught it.
Atlas and Kael watched from across the deck, exchanging knowing smiles. “She’s gone from clingy to completely hammered in record time,” Atlas muttered, shaking his head with a grin.
Kael laughed quietly. “It’s her first real celebration. Let her enjoy it. Besides, she’s adorable like this. Totally helpless and all yours, Enzo.”
Ash, standing nearby, simply raised an eyebrow, but even he allowed a small smile to cross his face.
Lisa, meanwhile, had started to mumble incoherently, her hand searching for Enzo’s and grasping it tightly. “Enzo… stay with me… don’t let go…”
He pressed a kiss to her temple, holding her close, his presence unwavering. “I’m right here. Always.”
Her laughter returned, bubbling and messy, her face flushed, eyes glassy, yet sparkling with joy. She leaned further into him, her head resting against his chest as she murmured, “Best… birthday… ever…”
Enzo tightened his hold, murmuring back, “I’m glad. You deserve it.”
Around them, the party continued, the island alive with music, chatter, and laughter. Guests danced, couples wandered along the moonlit beach, and yet, for Lisa, nothing else existed except the warmth and safety of Enzo’s arms, the indulgence of the celebration, and the freedom to let herself be spoiled for the very first time.
The night stretched on, and Lisa, thoroughly drunk and utterly happy, clung to Enzo with a desperate affection that made him smile softly beneath the stars.
Her world was spinning, but it didn’t matter. She was celebrated. She was cherished. And most importantly, she was with him, completely and undeniably, in a way she had never experienced before.
