Rejected By My Mate; Claimed By Lycan Quadruplets Chapter 306

Ryan sat alone in his office, staring at the pile of paperwork scattered across his desk.

The dim light from the desk lamp cast long shadows on the walls, but his mind wasn’t focused on work.

He leaned back in his chair, rubbing his temples, feeling a strange emptiness.

Suddenly, it hit him—he hadn’t heard from Amy since he got back from Paris. Guilt washed over him like a wave.

“I should’ve checked on her sooner,” he muttered under his breath.

Glancing at the clock, he realized it was already late evening. Serena must’ve been home with Amy by now.

The thought of going to Serena’s place crossed his mind, but he quickly shook it off.

“She’ll just get annoyed if I show up unannounced,” he sighed.

Instead, he picked up his phone and dialed Serena’s number. It rang twice, then stopped.

He frowned and called again. This time, it rang longer before someone answered.

But it wasn’t Serena’s voice on the other end. It pained him, realizing Serena obviously didn’t want to speak to him. But his daughter’s voice wasn’t so bad…

“Daddy!” Amy’s sweet voice chirped through the phone.

Ryan’s heart melted instantly, a smile spreading across his face.

“Hey, princess,” he said softly, leaning back in his chair. “How’s my favorite girl doing?”

“I’m good, Daddy! I played with my toys today, and Mommy made me cookies!” Amy giggled.

Ryan chuckled.

“Wow, that sounds like so much fun! I’m sorry I haven’t come to see you, sweetheart. Daddy’s been really busy with work.”

There was a small pause before Amy responded, “It’s okay, Daddy. I miss you.”

Ryan felt a pang in his chest.

“I miss you too, princess. But I promise, I’ll make time for you soon. Once I’m free, I’ll come over and take you to all your favorite fun places. How does that sound?”

“Yay!” Amy squealed with excitement. “I want ice cream too!”

Ryan laughed. “Ice cream? You got it, princess. Anything for you.”

After a few more minutes of chatting about her day, the call ended.

Ryan stared at his phone for a moment, feeling both warmth and guilt.

Without thinking twice, he grabbed his jacket, packed up his things, and left the office.

As he was driving home, his phone buzzed. It was Ethan.

“Hey, man,” Ryan answered.

“Ryan! It’s been a while. Let’s hang out. I’m bored out of my mind,” Ethan said, his voice cheerful.

Ryan glanced at the clock. “Sure, where do you want to meet?”

“How about the ice rink? Let’s play some hockey like we always do.”

“Sounds good. I’ll meet you there,” Ryan replied, turning his car in the direction of the ice rink.

At the Ice Rink,

The cold air hit Ryan’s face as he stepped onto the ice, skates strapped on tight.

Ethan was already there, gliding smoothly, holding a hockey stick with ease.

“Took you long enough!” Ethan teased as Ryan joined him.

“Had to make a call first,” Ryan replied, smirking.

They passed the puck back and forth, laughter echoing in the large rink.

The stress Ryan had been feeling started to melt away with each glide and slap of the puck.

Halfway through their game, Ethan’s phone buzzed in his pocket.

He skated over to the side, pulled off his gloves, and answered.

“Hey, babe,” Ethan said with a grin, his voice softening.

“Oh I’m really good. How about you? How was work today?” Ethan asked.

Once she replied, he muttered. “That’s good, babe. I guess you’re doing good.” He inquired further.

Ryan raised an eyebrow, skating over slowly, curious.

He listened as Ethan chuckled, talking about how he was playing hockey and probably going to beat Ryan.

When the call ended, Ryan couldn’t hold back his curiosity.

“Babe? Seriously huh?” Ryan teased, nudging Ethan with his shoulder. “Since when did you have a girlfriend?”

Ethan smirked, not even trying to hide it. “Since recently. Her name’s Emma.”

Ryan froze for a second, the name striking a familiar chord. “Emma? Wait… Do you mean…Serena’s assistant?”

Ethan nodded, grinning like a lovesick teenager. “Yeah, that’s the one. We are together now.” He says with a smirk.

Ryan shook his head in disbelief. “You’re unbelievable. You met her at the hospital that night, right? When we went to check on Serena?”

“Yep. Love at first sight,” Ethan replied proudly, slapping Ryan on the back.

“I’ve been out of the dating game for a while, and then—boom! There she was. She’s smart, funny, and honestly the best thing that has happened to me recently.”

Ryan rolled his eyes, laughing. “You’re such a bad boy, Ethan.”

“Hey, can’t help it if the heart wants what it wants,” Ethan replied dramatically, placing a hand over his chest.

“Alright, lovebird, let’s get back to the game before you start writing poetry,” Ryan teased, skating away with the puck.

They spent the next hour laughing, playing, and enjoying the simplicity of the moment.

Meanwhile…

Kate sat in her dimly lit apartment, a cigarette between her fingers, the smoke swirling lazily around her.

She exhaled slowly, a smirk playing on her lips.

Across from her sat her private investigator, a man in his late forties with sharp eyes and an even sharper mind.

“So, is it done?” Kate asked, flicking ash into the tray.

The PI nodded, sliding a folder across the table.

“Everything you asked for. Surveillance footage, edited photos, and the fake DNA report.”

Kate opened the folder, her eyes scanning the contents.

The footage showed Serena and Ryan meeting at her apartment, cleverly edited to make it look like secret rendezvous.

The photos—photoshopped with precision—depicted them kissing outside Serena’s building.

She picked up the fake DNA report, her grin widening.

“This… this will destroy her,” Kate whispered to herself, satisfaction dripping from her words.

The Private investigator cleared his throat. “I made sure there are no mistakes. It’ll be convincing enough to fool anyone.”

Kate nodded, pulling out a thick envelope of cash and sliding it to him. “For a job well done.”

The man took the money, stood up, and left without another word.

Kate leaned back on her couch, staring at the documents with pure delight.

She picked up her phone, dialing another number—her inside source at the media.

“I’ve got something you’re going to want,” she said smoothly.

“Scandalous enough to make headlines.”

After giving them all the information, she hung up, tossed her phone on the couch, and laughed to herself.

“By tomorrow, Serena’s perfect little world will crumble,” she muttered, taking another drag from her cigarette.

She relaxed, blowing out a thick cloud of smoke, her heart racing with anticipation.
