Rejected By My Mate; Claimed By Lycan Quadruplets Chapter 386
The luxurious private resort Thomas had arranged for Kate was nothing short of paradise.
Nestled along the pristine coastline, the secluded five-star retreat boasted sprawling white-sand beaches, crystal-clear waters, and exclusive villas designed for the elite.
Kate had woken up that morning to the soft sound of waves crashing against the shore, the golden rays of the sun filtering through the floor-to-ceiling windows of her lavish beachfront suite.
She stretched lazily in the massive king-sized bed, the silk sheets cool against her skin. The scent of fresh flowers filled the air, mingling with the salty ocean breeze that drifted in from the open balcony doors.
For the first time in days, she felt truly pampered—free from the stress of dealing with Serena, free from the constant need to fight for her place in Ryan’s life.
Sitting up, she reached for the silver tray of breakfast that had been delivered to her suite—a decadent spread of fresh fruits, pastries, and a steaming cup of imported coffee.
Thomas had truly gone above and beyond, ensuring that every detail of her stay was perfect.
But as much as she enjoyed the luxury, she didn’t want to enjoy it alone.
Picking up her phone, she quickly dialed Rolly’s number.
It rang a few times before her friend’s cheerful voice answered.
“Well, well, if it isn’t the Queen of Luxury. Are you even awake or still drowning in silk sheets?” Rolly teased.
Kate chuckled, taking a sip of her coffee. “Oh, I’m awake. And you should be on your way here.”
Rolly gasped dramatically. “You mean my presence is requested at the royal retreat? Should I pack my finest gowns and jewels?”
Kate rolled her eyes. “Just bring yourself. And maybe a few bikinis. We have a private beach, and it would be a crime not to take advantage of it.”
Rolly let out a squeal. “Now that’s an invitation I can’t refuse! Give me an hour, and I’ll be there.”
Kate smirked. “Good. Because I have a lot to tell you.”
—
An hour later, Kate lounged on one of the oceanfront cabanas, sipping on a chilled glass of champagne as she watched the resort staff prepare a setup on the sand—two reclining beach chairs, a shaded umbrella, and a small table lined with exotic fruits and fresh cocktails.
Then, she spotted Rolly stepping onto the sand, dressed in a stylish white swimsuit cover-up, oversized sunglasses perched on her nose.
“Look at this place!” Rolly exclaimed as she approached, taking in the sheer extravagance surrounding them. “Mr Thomas really outdid himself this time.”
Kate smirked, motioning for her to sit. “I told you. Only the best for me.”
Rolly plopped down beside her, grabbing a cocktail from the table. “So? Spill. What’s the latest in your mission to finally get Serena out of your way?”
Kate sighed, stretching out her legs as she leaned back. “It’s been a rollercoaster, Rolly. Just when I thought Serena was finished, she won the damn vote.”
Rolly’s jaw dropped. “What?! How? I thought the board was ready to push her out?”
Kate scoffed. “So did I. But somehow, she managed to flip the undecided votes at the last minute.”
Rolly shook her head in disbelief. “That woman has the survival skills of a cockroach. Just when you think she’s done, she wiggles her way back.”
Kate rolled her eyes. “Tell me about it.” She took another sip of her drink before continuing.
“Thomas was furious. He had everything set up to take her down, but she still found a way to win.”
Rolly arched her brow. “And what’s the plan now? Because you know she’s not going to sit back quietly.”
Kate smirked, a glint of mischief in her eyes. “Oh, we have something in the works. Let’s just say… Serena might have won this round, but the war isn’t over.”
Rolly leaned in, intrigued. “Do tell.”
Kate took a slow sip of her champagne, savoring the moment before speaking.
“Thomas is planning something big. Something that will make it impossible for Serena to fight back this time.”
Rolly’s eyes widened. “Seriously? Or is Thomas Winters serious?”
Kate smirked. “Oh, Thomas Winters serious. He’s not going to let this slide. He’s already putting things in motion, and when the time is right… Serena is going to wish she had walked away when she had the chance.”
Rolly shivered dramatically. “Remind me to never get on your bad side.”
Kate laughed. “Smart woman.”
The two of them clinked their glasses together before taking another sip.
—
After lounging under the shade for a while, they decided it was time to hit the private beach.
They strolled down to the shoreline, the warm sand soft beneath their feet as the waves rolled in gently.
Kate removed her cover-up, revealing a sleek black bikini, while Rolly sported a bright red one that contrasted beautifully against her sun-kissed skin.
They spent the next hour swimming, laughing, and lounging on the floating cabana beds that drifted just above the clear turquoise water.
At one point, Rolly turned to Kate, floating lazily on her back. “So tell me… what’s the deal with Ryan? Any progress there?”
Kate sighed, staring up at the blue sky. “It’s complicated. He’s still… distant.”
Rolly hummed. “That’s because of Serena.”
Kate scowled. “Of course it is. If she weren’t in the picture, he would have proposed by now.”
Rolly turned to face her, treading water. “So? Make him see that you’re the better choice.”
Kate exhaled. “I’ve tried. But Ryan is stubborn. And now that Serena has weaseled her way back into stability, he’s more distracted than ever.”
Rolly smirked. “Then you need to distract him, Kate.”
Kate tilted her head. “Meaning?”
Rolly swam closer. “Meaning… make yourself indispensable to him. Be the one thing he can’t afford to lose. Make him choose you.”
Kate’s lips curled into a slow, calculating smile. “You know what, Rolly? I think you might be onto something.”
—
As the sun began to set, casting a golden glow over the ocean, Kate and Rolly sat on the edge of the infinity pool, enjoying another round of drinks.
“This place is heaven,” Rolly sighed, dipping her toes in the water.
Kate smirked. “Thomas knew exactly what he was doing when he sent me here. He knew I needed a break, something to keep me satisfied while he handled things.”
Rolly sipped her drink. “Speaking of Thomas… does Mrs. Winters suspect anything?”
Kate let out a slow chuckle, swirling her glass. “If she didn’t before, she does now. I and Thomas spoke this morning and he told me they had a fight.”
Rolly arched her brow. “Oh?”
Kate smirked. “Let’s just say… she’s starting to ask questions.”
Rolly grinned. “And we both know that when people start asking questions… the real fun begins.”
Kate clinked her glass against Rolly’s. “To chaos.”
They laughed, sipping their drinks, completely unaware that—just beyond the resort’s lounge area—someone was watching them.
A camera lens zoomed in, capturing every moment.
A hand pressed a button.
A picture was taken.
