Rejected By My Mate; Claimed By Lycan Quadruplets Chapter 87

Lisa's POV

I woke up the next morning with the strangest mixture of excitement and nerves buzzing in my chest. Yesterday, Kael had practically begged me to oversee the planning for the pack’s annual celebration, dumping all responsibility on me with that pitiful puppy-dog look in his eyes. At first, I had agreed out of boredom and maybe out of spite for Enzo, who had so obviously shoved me aside by moving me to another room. But now, lying in bed with a mental list running wild in my head, I realized what I had signed myself up for. This wasn’t some small dinner. This was the event of the year for the pack. Everyone would be there. All the alphas, heirs, families, and allies.

I groaned into my pillow. “What have I gotten myself into?”

Still, I wasn’t about to back down. If Kael thought I was going to let him crash and burn, he clearly hadn’t been paying attention to who he was dealing with.

I got out of bed, tied my hair into a messy bun, and marched straight toward the kitchen, knowing I needed caffeine before anything else. The maids were already busy, and Calla offered me tea with a knowing smile. “Big day?”

“You have no idea,” I muttered, grabbing a notepad from the counter and immediately scribbling down: *Venue, Music, Seating arrangement, Games, Food, Decoration, Guest List, Invitations.* The page was instantly filled, and I sighed. “I’m running helter skelter before the day even starts.”

Kael strolled in not long after, looking too relaxed for someone who had dumped a mountain of work on me. “Morning, boss,” he teased, snatching a cookie from a plate. “I see you’re already planning world domination.”

“Don’t even start,” I said, pointing at him with my pen. “You’re in charge of security. Don’t think for one second you’re escaping this.”

He clutched his chest dramatically. “Security? That’s all? Lisa, you wound me. You’re basically saying I’m useless.”

“You are useless,” I shot back. “Which is why I’m doing the actual planning while you run around playing bodyguard.”

He gasped. “The betrayal.”

I ignored his antics and started flipping through the pages. “Okay, first things first. The venue. Where exactly are we hosting this thing?”

Kael leaned against the counter. “The pack’s main hall. It’s huge enough to host three hundred people if needed, but it hasn’t been properly used in years. Needs cleaning, organizing, the works.”

“Great,” I mumbled, scribbling again. “So I need a crew to handle cleaning, decorators, and someone to check the lighting. What about music? Are we hiring a band or…”

Kael grinned. “There’s a local band everyone likes. They play wolf folk songs and also mix in modern tunes. Atlas swears by them. I can get them booked.”

I raised a brow. “Wow, actual contribution? Miracles do happen.”

He groaned. “You’re cruel, Lisa.”

“You deserve it.”

I spent the next hour bouncing ideas with him, running around between the kitchen, the hall, and the storage room to check supplies. Every maid I ran into gave me curious looks, clearly wondering why an omega like me was suddenly bossing everyone around. When they asked, I smiled sweetly and said, “I’m in charge now. Orders straight from Kael.” That always made them laugh, especially remembering how Lisa beat Enzo story had spread.

By noon, I was already sweating from stress. Paperwork piled in my hands—lists of supplies, contact names, a sketch of the hall layout. I had scribbles all over my arms when I ran out of space on the paper.

Kael followed me everywhere, making comments just to annoy me.

“Lisa, you’re running like a headless chicken.”

“Lisa, don’t you think you’re overthinking the seating plan? Who cares who sits where?”

“Lisa, maybe you should breathe before you combust.”

Finally, I whirled on him. “Kael, if you say one more thing, I’m shoving this clipboard where the sun doesn’t shine.”

He burst out laughing, throwing his hands up. “Okay, okay. I’ll shut up. But you’re hilarious when you’re stressed.”

I narrowed my eyes. “Glad my mental breakdown entertains you.”

“It does,” he said shamelessly.

I shook my head and got back to work.

By the afternoon, I was in the main hall with half the maids, directing where tables should go. “Round tables, not long ones. Easier for conversation. Decorations—flowers on each table. Keep them simple, white and blue.”

Calla raised a hand. “What about the head table? Where will the alphas sit?”

I groaned. “Right. Of course. Head table front and center. Enzo in the middle. Atlas and Ash next to him. Then the visiting alphas. I’ll draft out the actual names later.”

Kael leaned against a pillar, pretending to supervise while doing absolutely nothing. “You’re scary when you get bossy.”

“I’ll be scarier if you don’t stop standing there like decoration,” I snapped.

He grinned but finally got moving, at least helping lift chairs.

By evening, my legs ached, my hands hurt from writing, and my head buzzed with logistics. But somehow, the skeleton of the plan was in place. I collapsed onto a chair, sighing heavily. “I think I’ve aged ten years today.”

Kael dropped into the seat next to me, handing me a glass of water. “Look at you. The mighty omega, singlehandedly running the pack’s biggest event. If Enzo doesn’t cry from shame, I’ll be disappointed.”

I snorted. “He probably will. And I’ll laugh.”

“You know,” Kael said, tilting his head, “you’re actually… good at this.”

I blinked at him. “Good at what?”

“Bossing people around. Organizing. Leading. If I didn’t know better, I’d think you were born to run things.”

I rolled my eyes, but warmth spread through my chest at his words. “Don’t make me blush, Kael. I’ll throw this clipboard at your face.”

He laughed. “Do it. I dare you.”

I raised the clipboard, and he flinched dramatically, making the maids nearby burst into laughter.

At the end of the day, the hall looked halfway decent, the paperwork was organized, and I had appointments lined up for decorations, music, food tasting, and games. I still had a million things left to do, but it felt manageable somehow.

As I headed to bed that night, exhausted but oddly proud, I realized something I never thought I’d admit: I was actually enjoying this. The chaos, the running around, the teasing with Kael—it was strangely fun.

And maybe, just maybe, I wanted to see the look on Enzo’s face when he realized I had pulled it all off. Maybe he'd be proud.
