Rejected By My Mate; Claimed By Lycan Quadruplets Chapter 399

Thomas woke up with a deep scowl on his face. He had barely gotten any sleep, tossing and turning in the guest room, knowing all too well that stepping into the master bedroom was out of the question.

Mrs. Winters had made her stance clear—she wanted nothing to do with him, and after what happened last night, he didn’t blame her.

As he walked into the dining room the next morning, the air was thick with silence.

Mrs. Winters was already seated at the table, staring down at her untouched breakfast. Her eyes were swollen, her face pale, the evidence of a sleepless night and endless tears written all over her.

Thomas sat down across from her, carefully picking up his fork. The weight of his gaze was heavy on her, but she didn’t look up, didn’t acknowledge him, didn’t say a word.h

The clinking of silverware filled the room, but it only made the silence between them more unbearable.

“You should eat,” Thomas said after a long moment, though his voice lacked its usual authority.

Mrs. Winters scoffed, finally looking at him. Her expression was one of sheer exhaustion, but beneath it, there was nothing but bitter resentment.

“Eat?” she repeated, her voice hoarse. “After what you and that woman have done?”

Thomas sighed, pushing his plate away. He had expected this.

“She’s your son’s fiancée,” she continued, shaking her head.

“You were supposed to be his mentor, his guide, his family. And yet—” She let out a humorless laugh, her voice trembling. “Yet, you had no problem betraying him like this.”

Thomas set his jaw, refusing to let her words rattle him. “It was a mistake,” he muttered, though even he knew how empty that sounded.

Mrs. Winters let out a bitter laugh. “A mistake?” she echoed.

“A mistake that the entire world has seen now? A mistake that has ruined our family’s name? Do you even understand the level of disgrace you’ve brought upon this household?”

Thomas exhaled sharply, gripping his knee under the table. “It wasn’t supposed to come out like this,” he admitted.

“Oh? So the issue isn’t what you did, but the fact that it’s now public?” She shook her head, disgusted.

“How could you, Thomas? How could you look Ryan in the eye and do this?”

The reminder of Ryan sent a flicker of something across Thomas’ face, but it disappeared as quickly as it had come.

He knew he had crossed a line, but there was no taking it back now.

He pushed his chair back and stood. “I won’t sit here and be scolded like a child,” he muttered.

Mrs. Winters scoffed, wiping her eyes as she watched him leave. “Of course not,” she whispered to herself. “Cowards never do.”

As soon as he was gone, she pushed her plate away, no longer able to stomach even the sight of food.

She needed to leave this house. She needed answers. And she knew exactly where to find them.

Kate barely got any sleep. She had spent the entire night pacing, her heart pounding with dread as she scrolled through the internet, reading every single article, every single tweet, every single comment about the video.

Her life was over.

The media was feasting on the scandal, dragging her name through the mud, dissecting every second of the footage.

Her phone wouldn’t stop ringing—reporters, tabloids, even some so-called friends who wanted nothing more than to hear her side so they could run and sell her story to the highest bidder.

But the worst part?

Ryan hadn’t called.

Not once.

Her hands trembled as she threw on a coat, grabbed her keys, and stormed out of her apartment. She couldn’t sit in here and wallow.

There was only one person in this world who would have her back no matter what.

Rolly.

She drove like a madwoman through the empty streets, barely paying attention to traffic lights, barely even breathing until she pulled up to Rolly’s house.

The moment she knocked, Rolly opened the door in a silk robe, her expression morphing into shock.

“Kate—”

Kate didn’t wait. She pushed past her and into the house, her entire body trembling.

“Please,” she croaked. “Please tell me this isn’t happening.”

Rolly shut the door behind her, letting out a heavy sigh. “It’s bad, Kate. Really bad.”

Kate’s breath hitched, and she sank onto the couch, clutching her hair. “What am I going to do?” she whispered.

Rolly sat beside her, placing a hand on her back. “We’ll figure something out,” she said.

Kate let out a bitter laugh. “How? How do I fix this?”

Rolly didn’t have an answer.

And before either of them could say anything else, a sudden knock at the door shattered the silence.

Kate froze.

Rolly frowned, standing up. “Who the hell—”

Another knock. Louder. More urgent.

Something about it sent a shiver down Kate’s spine.

Rolly hesitated before opening the door—only to nearly stumble back when Mrs. Winters stormed inside.

She didn’t say a word to Rolly. Didn’t even acknowledge her. Her cold, furious gaze locked onto Kate.

Kate barely had time to react before Mrs. Winters grabbed a fistful of her hair and yanked.

“You ungrateful little wretch!” she spat.

Kate let out a strangled yelp, trying to pry Mrs. Winters’ hands off her.

“You had everything!” Mrs. Winters seethed, still gripping her hair tightly. “I defended you! I welcomed you into my home, into my family, and this is how you repay me? By spreading your filthy legs for my husband?!”

Kate gasped, her face burning with humiliation. “I—I didn’t—”

“Oh, save it!” Mrs. Winters shoved her back, breathing heavily. “I should have known. Should have known you were nothing but a gold-digging, manipulative snake!”

Rolly finally intervened, stepping between them. “Mrs. Winters, please! Calm down!”

But Mrs. Winters wasn’t done. She turned back to Kate, her eyes cold.

“You are done.”

Kate swallowed hard. “I—I can explain—”

“Explain?” Mrs. Winters let out a dry, humorless laugh. “Explain what? That you seduced my husband? That you lied your way into my son’s life? That you let the whole world see you like a cheap whore!”

Kate’s face burned as she held up her hands. “Please! I didn’t want it to come out like this! I—”

“You didn’t want it to come out?” Mrs. Winters scoffed. “So you were perfectly fine as long as it was kept a secret?”

Kate’s mouth opened and closed, no words forming.

Mrs. Winters exhaled sharply, stepping back. “You’re a disgrace,” she muttered. “And mark my words, you will never—never—step foot near my family again.”

She turned and stormed out, slamming the door behind her.

Kate sat there, stunned, her hands shaking as the weight of everything collapsed onto her shoulders.

Rolly sighed, rubbing her temples. “Well… that didn’t go well.”

Kate buried her face in her hands.

She had lost everything.
