Rejected By My Mate; Claimed By Lycan Quadruplets Chapter 110
Alpha Rowland's POV
I could barely keep the growl from tearing through my throat as I paced the room, fists clenched so tight my claws threatened to break through my skin. The image of my daughter—my precious Irene—humiliated in front of everyone, lying broken and battered because of that cursed duel, burned into my mind like fire I couldn’t put out. The rage coiled in my chest, and every heartbeat felt like an explosion waiting to detonate.
A mere omega. A filthy, unworthy omega standing up to my daughter—an Alpha’s child, raised to be untouchable—and then the unimaginable happened. That girl, that wretched Lisa, had dared to overpower her. It wasn’t just defeat. No. It was ridicule. It was a slap to my name, to my legacy, to everything I had built.
“I’ll kill him,” I muttered under my breath, my voice hoarse and raw from holding back a roar. “I’ll kill Enzo with my bare hands. How dare he allow this? How dare he let that disgrace happen under his roof?”
I felt my wolf snarling within me, urging me to rip, tear, destroy. The alliance meant nothing in this moment. My daughter’s pride had been shattered. My pride had been trampled. I could still hear the mocking laughter of the crowd when Irene had been forced—forced—to bow before that omega. The sound made me grind my teeth so hard my jaw ached.
“Father, please,” Bryan’s voice broke through my haze, trembling but insistent.
I swung my head toward him. He stood a few steps away, looking battered himself, his eyes darting nervously between me and Irene, who was still lying weak on the couch. She looked pale, her breaths shallow, her body trembling despite the healers who had worked on her earlier. My heart twisted for her, but my fury did not lessen.
“You,” I snapped, pointing a clawed finger at him. “You allowed this. You, Bryan. You let my daughter—your mate—be dragged into that circus. What kind of man are you? What kind of Alpha will you ever be if you can’t even protect the woman by your side?”
His eyes dropped instantly, shame washing over him. “I’m sorry, Alpha Rowland,” he said, his voice breaking. “I never meant for this to happen. I swear, I tried to stop it, but Irene insisted. She wanted to prove herself. I pressured her… I thought it would just be a minor duel. I never imagined Lisa could—”
“Silence!” I bellowed, my voice shaking the walls. Irene stirred slightly at the sound, groaning weakly, but I didn’t stop. I couldn’t stop. “You dared put her in such a position? You call yourself a man? You call yourself worthy of my daughter? You are weak, Bryan. Weak! If you couldn’t stop her, then you should have fought in her place. Do you understand? You should have bled, not her.”
His shoulders slumped as though I had struck him with the weight of a thousand stones. And still, it wasn’t enough to quench the fire inside me.
I turned, slamming my fist into the wooden table beside me, shattering it into splinters. “And Enzo!” I roared. “That arrogant bastard. How dare he let it happen in his pack? How dare he sit back and watch my daughter humiliated like some common pup? He mocks me with this. He mocks my name, mocks my bloodline!”
Irene whimpered softly, her eyes fluttering half open. My anger cracked for a fleeting second as I knelt beside her, brushing a trembling hand over her hair. “My daughter,” I whispered, trying to keep my voice gentle for her. “My beautiful girl… you shouldn’t have had to go through this. They will all pay. I’ll make sure of it.”
Her lips trembled, but no words came out. She was too weak, too broken to speak. That sight fueled me even more. My wolf was clawing at me, demanding blood, demanding retribution.
“I’ll destroy him,” I said again, louder this time, standing to my full height. “Enzo thinks he can mock Alpha Rowland? He thinks he can allow some omega to stand over my daughter and laugh? I’ll tear his alliance apart, burn his pack to the ground, and strangle that omega girl myself until she begs for death.”
Bryan’s head shot up at that, panic flaring in his eyes. “No! Father, you can’t. Please listen.”
“Can’t?” I hissed, stalking toward him, my aura flaring so thick and heavy he nearly buckled under it. “You dare tell me what I can and cannot do? You think to stand between me and vengeance for my own blood?”
He shook his head quickly, raising his hands as if to ward off the storm. “I’m not standing in your way, Father. I just… I need you to think. If you go after Enzo now, if you threaten him, the alliance will be over. Do you understand? He won’t just walk away quietly. He’ll cut ties with us, and worse—he may retaliate.”
“Let him retaliate!” I growled. “Let him try. I’ll bury him and every wolf under his command. He’ll regret the day he ever thought himself my equal.”
Bryan stepped forward, desperate, his voice straining. “Father, please. Think about Irene. Think about what this means for her. If Enzo ends the alliance, what position does that leave her in? What position does that leave us in? We’ve worked years to secure this bond between our packs. It keeps our enemies at bay. It strengthens our standing among the Alphas. You can’t throw it away for the sake of vengeance.”
I glared at him, breathing heavily, my fists shaking. His words slithered through my rage, unwanted but undeniable. I hated that he was right. I hated that the political reality bound my hands when all I wanted was to tear into flesh and bone.
“Enzo should pay,” I muttered, pacing again, my mind torn. “He deserves to pay. He sat back and allowed a disgrace like this to happen. He should be groveling at my feet right now, begging forgiveness, not sitting smug in his halls as though nothing happened.”
Bryan swallowed hard, his voice gentling. “Maybe he does deserve to pay. But if you move recklessly, it won’t just be him who suffers. It will be Irene. It will be all of us. The alliance keeps her secured as Luna-to-be. Without it, she’ll be nothing but a laughingstock, and our enemies will pounce. Please, Father. For her sake, hold back. Just this once.”
I stopped, staring at him. My chest heaved, my claws digging into my palms. Every word scraped against my pride like broken glass. To stand still. To not act. To let this mockery go unanswered. It was unbearable. And yet… Irene’s pale face flashed in my mind again, the fragility of her body, the humiliation in her eyes. Bryan was right. As much as it killed me to admit it, he was right.
If I acted now, it would destroy her future completely.
I closed my eyes, dragging in a long, heavy breath. “You dare ask me to swallow this insult, Bryan. Do you know what you’re asking of me?”
“Yes,” he whispered, his voice hoarse. “I do. And I’m begging you to do it—for her.”
I opened my eyes, narrowing them at him. “This isn’t over. Do you hear me? It isn’t over. Enzo will pay, one way or another. I don’t care if it takes years. I’ll make him regret humiliating my daughter. I’ll make him regret ever crossing me.”
My wolf snarled its agreement in the back of my mind, though I forced it down. For now, I would wait. For now, I would bide my time. But vengeance was already written in my blood.
I turned back to Irene, my expression softening again. I brushed her cheek, my voice dropping. “Rest, my daughter. They think they’ve broken you, but they don’t know us. They don’t know me. I’ll make the world bleed before I let this stand.”
And with that vow burning in my chest, I knew this wasn’t the end. This was only the beginning.
