Rejected By My Mate; Claimed By Lycan Quadruplets Chapter 277

Kate stood at the door, watching as Ryan’s car disappeared down the street. She let out a deep breath, her lips curling into a small smile.

“Finally,” she muttered under her breath.

Without wasting any time, she turned on her heels and strode back into the house, heading straight for Ryan’s bedroom.

Picking up her phone from the bedside table, she dialed a familiar number and waited as the phone rang.

A rough voice answered from the other end, “Hello?”

Kate crossed her arms and leaned against the wall. “What’s the update? Have you found out anything?” she asked in a sharp tone.

The private investigator, who had been working for her for months now, cleared his throat.

“Not much has changed, Miss Kate. Ryan hasn’t been seeing Serena like you feared.

The only time they met was last night at a café. Serena brought their daughter to see him, but they didn’t exchange many words.”

Kate’s grip on her phone tightened. “Are you sure? There was nothing? No… affectionate gestures or anything suspicious?”

“No, Miss Kate. Nothing at all. Ryan only focused on his daughter, and Serena didn’t even stay involved in their conversation. She was busy with her phone most of the time,” the investigator reassured her.

Kate sighed in relief, a smirk forming on her lips.

“Good. That’s what I wanted to hear. Keep watching them, though. I need to know everything, every little detail. I can’t take any chances.”

“Of course, I’ll keep you updated.”

Kate hung up the call and stared at herself in the mirror.

“Now, I just need to take care of this custody mess,” she muttered to herself before heading to the bathroom.

Meanwhile, at Rocky’s Designs, Serena was seated at her desk, flipping through files and reviewing designs when her phone buzzed.

She glanced at the screen. An unknown number.

She hesitated for a moment before finally picking it up. “Hello?” she said cautiously.

A smooth, confident voice rang through the phone.

“Serena Winthrop? This is Bianca Taylor.”

Serena’s eyebrows raised in surprise. “Oh, Miss Taylor. Hello! How are you?”

“I’m doing well, thank you.” Bianca’s voice was as pleasant as ever.

“I just wanted to check on the furniture I ordered. When should I expect the delivery?”

Serena smiled. “Everything is going according to schedule. You should receive them by the end of the week. Our team will handle the installation as well.”

“That’s wonderful,” Bianca said sweetly. “But… to be honest, I called for another reason too.”

Serena tilted her head curiously. “Oh? And what’s that?”

“Well,” Bianca sighed dramatically.

“I’ve been feeling so bored lately. Since I’m new to Arizona, I haven’t had the chance to explore the city much. It’s been all work and no fun.”

Serena chuckled softly. “I understand how that feels.”

“I was wondering,” Bianca continued, her voice dripping with charm, “if you’d like to go shopping later today? Maybe you could show me around a bit.”

Serena hesitated for a moment.

“Oh, I don’t know… I have a pretty busy schedule…”

Bianca quickly cut in, “Come on, Serena. I promise I won’t take much of your time. Just a few hours.

Besides, it’ll be a great way for us to bond. You know, as business partners.”

Serena sighed, thinking about it. “Well, I suppose I could take a little break. It’s not like I have too much on my plate today.”

“Perfect!” Bianca said excitedly. “Let’s meet at that little café near your office in two hours?”

Serena nodded. “Alright, I’ll see you then.”

Once the call ended, Serena leaned back in her chair and smiled.

“Well, a little fun won’t hurt,” she murmured.

Meanwhile, Bianca was seated in a lavish apartment with her best friend, Maddie, who was lounging on the couch.

As soon as Bianca hung up, she burst into laughter. Maddie, sipping on a cocktail, smirked and asked, “Did she fall for it?”

Bianca rolled her eyes and tossed her phone onto the couch.

“Of course she did. She agreed to go shopping with me. Can you believe it?”

Maddie laughed.

“Wow, she must be really clueless. Or just too nice for her own good.”

Bianca leaned back, crossing her legs.

“That woman has no idea who she’s dealing with. I’m going to dig and dig until I find out exactly why Nathan chose her over me.”

Maddie’s eyes sparkled with interest.

“You still think there’s something special about her?”

Bianca scoffed. “Please. What does she have that I don’t? I’m a top model. She’s just a businesswoman running a furniture company.”

Maddie grinned. “So what’s your plan? You're going to charm her, pretend to be her friend, and then what?”

Bianca smirked.

“I’ll keep my friends close and my enemies even closer. If she has secrets, I’ll find them.”

Maddie raised her glass. “I like how you think.”

Bianca took a deep breath and glanced at the photos she had of Serena, Nathan, and Amy.

“Nathan thought he could just run away from me and start a new life here, but I’ll make sure he regrets it.”

Maddie leaned forward. “And what about Serena?”

Bianca’s eyes darkened. “I’ll make her life miserable. Slowly, but surely.”

Maddie laughed. “Oh, I can’t wait to see this.”

Bianca picked up her phone again.

“Let’s see how far Serena is willing to go to please a ‘new friend’.”

Later that afternoon, Serena arrived at the café, dressed in a casual yet elegant outfit.

She spotted Bianca sitting by the window, waving at her with a bright smile.

“Serena! Over here!” Bianca called out cheerfully.

Serena smiled and walked over. “Hi, Bianca. Sorry if I’m a little late.”

“No worries at all. You look amazing, by the way,” Bianca complimented.

Serena chuckled. “Thanks, you do too. Shall we go?”

Bianca nodded, and they headed out into the bustling streets of the city. They packed at the shopping mall and got out of the car.

As they walked, Bianca pretended to admire the buildings and shops.

“So, Serena,” Bianca said, linking her arm with Serena’s, “how long have you been running Rocky’s Designs?”

Serena smiled proudly. “For a few years now. It wasn’t easy, but I’m glad it’s thriving.”

Bianca nodded. “It must be stressful balancing work and personal life.”

Serena gave a small smile. “It can be, but I manage.”

Bianca glanced at her. “No special someone in your life?”

Serena stiffened slightly but quickly shook her head. “No, not really. My focus is on my daughter and my work.”

Bianca raised an eyebrow.

“Oh, you have a daughter? That’s sweet. What’s her name?”

“Amy,” Serena said with a soft smile.

Bianca faked an interested look. “That’s lovely. I bet she’s adorable.”

“She is,” Serena replied, not giving much away.

Bianca smirked inwardly, feeling like she was getting closer to uncovering more.

“You know, Serena, I really admire women like you. Balancing everything so well.”

Serena laughed. “Thank you, Bianca.”

After a while of shopping and chatting, Bianca suggested they grab coffee. As they sat down, Bianca leaned in.

“I really think we should hang out more often. I mean, I barely know anyone in town, and I could really use a friend.”

Serena hesitated before finally nodding. “Sure, I don’t mind.”

Bianca smiled sweetly. “Perfect.”

The moment Bianca got into her car after they parted ways, her smile disappeared.

“She’s exactly what I thought,” Bianca muttered. “Too nice. Too trusting.”

Bianca smirked. “Next? I’ll keep playing my part. She’ll never see it coming.”

With that, Bianca drove off.
