Rejected By My Mate; Claimed By Lycan Quadruplets Chapter 344
Serena stepped into the company’s lobby that morning, her heels clicking against the polished marble floor. Something felt off the moment she entered.
There was a shift in the air, a tension she couldn’t quite place. The usual bright good mornings from her employees were missing. Instead, hushed whispers filled the space.
Eyes darted toward her before quickly looking away, as if they had just been caught gossiping.
She frowned, her grip tightening around Amy’s small hand. It wasn’t the first time she had walked into the office feeling like she was the subject of discussion, but today, the staring was worse.
Amy, sharp as always, tugged on her hand and whispered, “Mommy, why is everyone looking at us like that?”
Serena forced a small chuckle, hoping to brush it off. “They’re probably talking about work, sweetheart. Don’t worry about it.”
Amy wasn’t convinced. She narrowed her little eyes, glancing around suspiciously before shrugging.
Serena, on the other hand, couldn’t shake the nagging feeling in her chest. But instead of confronting it, she sighed and led Amy toward the private elevator.
Inside, Amy leaned against the wall, still thinking about it. “I think they were talking about you.”
Serena arched a brow, looking down at her daughter. “And what makes you think that?”
Amy pouted, crossing her arms. “Because the moment you walked in, everyone stopped talking and started staring.”
Serena pressed the elevator button, her patience thinning. “Maybe they just had something to discuss among themselves.”
Amy didn’t seem convinced, but she let it go. Serena, however, wasn’t as calm as she appeared.
The moment the elevator doors slid shut, she exhaled, trying to shake off the uneasy feeling creeping up her spine.
When they stepped out onto her office floor, Emma was already waiting for her. And the moment Serena saw her panicked face, she knew something was terribly wrong.
Emma was gripping her tablet tightly, her fingers shaking as she held it up. “Ms. Serena… there’s fire on the mountain.”
Serena’s stomach twisted. “What do you mean?”
Amy, always perceptive, looked between the two women with wide eyes. “Aunt Emma, what’s wrong?”
Emma hesitated, glancing at Serena, waiting for her signal. Serena quickly forced a smile for Amy’s sake and patted her head.
“Sweetheart, go to my office and wait for me. Aunt Emma and I have something to discuss.”
Amy frowned, clearly sensing something was wrong, but she nodded and skipped toward the office, trusting her mother’s words.
The moment Amy disappeared behind the door, Serena turned back to Emma. “Now talk.”
Emma exhaled, stepping closer. “Kate granted an interview.”
Serena blinked, her face blank for a second as if she hadn’t heard correctly. “She did what?”
Emma didn’t even waste time explaining. She tapped on her screen and pressed play.
Serena listened in growing horror as Kate’s voice filled the room.
Kate’s eyes were red, her voice shaking as she spoke to the interviewer.
She painted herself as the victim, making it seem like she had suffered the most.
“She took him away from me,” Kate cried in the video, her face pale and miserable.
“She stole Ryan from me back in university. She ruined my life. And when I tried to fight back, she had me kidnapped.”
Serena’s hands clenched into fists.
Kate’s voice continued, gaining sympathy with every word.
“Ryan was always mine. But Serena manipulated him. She made him think I abandoned him. She forced him into marriage. He never loved her.”
Emma kept watching Serena’s reaction closely as she read through some of the social media comments aloud.
“Look at this one,” Emma said.
“Someone commented, ‘I knew Serena wasn’t as innocent as she pretended to be!’ And another one says, ‘Poor Kate. She really went through hell because of that woman!’”
Serena’s vision blurred for a second.
Her legs wobbled, and she had to grip the edge of Emma’s desk for support.
She wasn’t expecting another scandal—not after all the effort she had put into clearing her name.
Emma noticed how pale she had gotten and quickly reached for her arm. “Serena, sit down. You’re shaking.”
Instead of heading to her own office, Serena sank into one of the chairs in Emma’s office, her body refusing to move further.
She leaned forward, pressing her fingers against her temple. “That woman won’t leave me alone,” she muttered under her breath.
Emma sighed. “Kate is smart. She knows exactly how to play the victim. And with how miserable she looked, the public is already turning against you.”
Serena inhaled sharply, forcing herself to sit up straight. She wasn’t going to let Kate break her. Not again.
She smoothed her hands over her white dress, straightening the fabric as she steeled herself. “What’s my schedule for the day?” she asked.
Emma hesitated. “Serena…”
“Tell me.”
Emma exhaled and listed off her meetings, her voice steady. Serena nodded, pushing herself to her feet.
“I won’t let Kate get what she wants,” she said firmly. “She wants to see me weak. I won’t give her that satisfaction.”
She turned on her heels and marched toward her office. “Bring me coffee,” she ordered before shutting the door behind her.
Meanwhile, across the city, Ryan was in his office, completely unaware of what was happening.
He sat at his desk, reviewing some files that needed his signature when Jefferson, his assistant, walked in.
Jefferson greeted him professionally before clearing his throat. “Sir, you might want to see this.”
Ryan glanced up. “What is it?”
Jefferson hesitated before setting his phone on the desk. “Kate granted an interview.”
Ryan’s entire body tensed. He stared at Jefferson for a long moment before slowly reaching for the phone.
The video played.
Kate’s tear-streaked face filled the screen, her voice shaking as she spoke. Ryan listened in growing frustration as she twisted the truth, making herself the victim.
His jaw clenched so tightly it ached. His hands curled into fists on the desk.
Jefferson shifted uncomfortably. “Sir… what should we do?”
Ryan exhaled sharply through his nose. “Take it down.”
“Sir?”
“Get it removed from every media outlet. Immediately.”
Jefferson nodded and quickly left the office to carry out the order.
Ryan leaned back in his chair, shoving a hand into his hair.
Serena had just started to forgive him. She was beginning to trust him again. And now, Kate has gone and ruined everything.
His mind raced.
How was he going to fix this?
“Why is Kate always stirring up trouble for me? I still need to convince those shareholders that I’m capable of taking whatever relationship scandal I have on the internet out; but Kate was ruining everything!”
He sighed and shoved his fingers into his hair.
