Rejected By My Mate; Claimed By Lycan Quadruplets Chapter 98
Gamma Kael's POV
I had just finished buttoning the last piece of my shirt when I heard a loud bang on my door. At first, I thought it was one of the guards alerting me about something urgent in the perimeter, but the door didn’t creak open politely—it flew wide with a force that nearly knocked the hinges off.
Calla barged in, her face flushed, eyes wide with panic, and I instantly knew whatever she was about to say wasn’t going to sit well with me.
“Gamma Kael!” she gasped, not even giving me a second to respond. “It’s Lisa. She’s being manhandled right now by Lady Irene and some other Lunas. They’re accusing her of—”
I didn’t even wait for her to finish. My pulse spiked with a sudden wave of heat that coursed through my veins like wildfire. Lisa? Manhandled? By that snake Irene and her cronies?
I stormed past Calla so fast she had to stumble aside before I crushed her. The shirt I had just worn suddenly felt like it was choking me, and my fists clenched so tightly my knuckles cracked with every step I took.
I wasn’t walking—I was tearing through the hallway like a storm, the sound of my boots pounding the marble floors drawing startled glances from every maid and guard I passed.
The moment I approached the hall, I heard the commotion before I even reached the door. Shouts, gasps, the unmistakable sound of glass shattering, and then—her cry.
My chest seized up. Lisa.
I shoved the doors open so violently they slammed against the walls, rattling the chandeliers above. My eyes zeroed in on the chaos in the middle of the hall, and my entire body went rigid with fury.
Lisa was on her knees, her dress stained with what looked like chili sauce smeared across her torso. A maid cowered in the corner, empty tray trembling in her hands. Irene stood over Lisa with her hand raised, her expression twisted with that smug superiority she always wore like a crown. The worst part—the scene froze for just a moment as I arrived, long enough for me to witness the exact moment another Luna—some puffed-up wife of an Alpha—smashed a wine bottle across Lisa’s head.
The sharp crack rang out. Lisa swayed, her body going slack as blood streaked down her temple.
That was it. The last straw.
The rage I’d been holding back roared free, tearing out of my chest like a beast unleashed.
“Enough!” I thundered, my voice shaking the hall, making the chandeliers tremble.
Every Alpha, every Luna, every bystander froze under the force of my fury. But their hesitation only lasted a second because the moment I saw Lisa bleeding, my vision turned red.
I didn’t think. I acted.
The Alpha closest to Irene was the first to fly backward, his body slamming into a long dining table with a crash that splintered wood. Another tried to step in, but I grabbed him by the collar and flung him like a rag doll across the room. The sound of bodies hitting walls and furniture filled the air. Screams erupted, high-pitched gasps from Lunas who only a second ago had been bold enough to hurl insults and blows at Lisa.
Now? They looked terrified.
“Kael—wait—” one Alpha tried to reason, but his words ended in a grunt as my fist connected with his jaw, sending him sprawling.
The maids stood frozen, their trays clattering to the ground, eyes wide as they watched me thrash the hall. To them, I’d always been the playful one, the lighthearted shadow behind Lisa, quick with a smirk, always calm. Never in their wildest dreams did they expect me to snap like this.
But they hadn’t seen Lisa bleeding on the floor before.
Irene opened her mouth to speak—probably some pitiful excuse or another accusation—but I was on her before she could even take a breath.
“You dare lay a hand on her?” I growled, my voice low, trembling with a rage so sharp it made her flinch.
Bryan, the coward, finally stepped in then, trying to wedge himself between me and Irene. “Kael, stop—this isn’t what it looks like—”
I didn’t care for his excuses. My fist slammed into his face with a satisfying crack. The Alpha stumbled, clutching his bleeding nose, eyes wide with shock.
“Hold a stronger leash on your bitch,” I snarled at him, my voice carrying over the entire hall, making every head turn. “The only reason she’s still breathing is because I respect Enzo. If not, I would’ve beaten the life out of her right here and now.”
Gasps filled the room. Irene’s face twisted, part shock, part humiliation, but she didn’t dare move. She knew as well as anyone that if she so much as breathed wrong, I’d snap.
I snapped my fingers, summoning the guards. My voice cut through the hall like steel.
“Take every single one of them involved in this assault to the holding cells. Now. I don’t care if they’re Alphas, Lunas, or whatever title they cling to. Titles mean nothing to me when you attack one of mine.”
The guards hesitated for only a second, glancing nervously at the powerful figures standing frozen in the room. But one look at me—at the raw fury burning in my eyes—and they obeyed without question.
Screams and protests erupted as Irene and the others were seized, dragged toward the exit. Some Alphas shouted about disrespect, about positions, about how Enzo would hear of this.
Good. Let him hear.
Bryan tried to step toward me again, but the second he opened his mouth, I raised a fist. He shut up instantly, his jaw tightening as he pulled Irene behind him protectively.
I didn’t spare them another glance. My attention went only to Lisa.
She was barely conscious, her head tilted forward, blood trickling down her temple. My chest ached at the sight of her trying to force herself upright, even in that state, trying to stand strong while her entire body trembled.
“Lisa…” I breathed, crouching down, my anger instantly softening the moment I touched her.
Her eyes fluttered open, glassy with pain, but the faintest smile tugged at her lips when she saw me. “Kael…”
That single whisper nearly broke me.
I scooped her up into my arms, cradling her against my chest as if she were the most precious thing in the world—because she was. Her blood smeared against my shirt, warm and sticky, but I didn’t care.
“We’re leaving,” I barked at no one in particular, my voice daring anyone to stop me. Not a soul moved. Not a single Alpha or Luna dared to open their mouth again as I stormed out of the hall, Lisa safe in my arms.
The corridors blurred as I raced down them, every step faster than the last until I burst into the infirmary.
The healers rushed forward immediately, their eyes widening when they saw who I was carrying.
“She’s bleeding,” I snapped. “She was hit with glass—check for head trauma. Now.”
“Yes, Gamma!”
I reluctantly laid her on the infirmary bed, stepping back only because I knew they couldn’t work with me hovering. But my fists were clenched, my chest heaving, every fiber of me still vibrating with fury.
The healers bustled around her, cleaning the wound, bandaging her temple, checking her pulse. I didn’t hear their words. My mind was focused solely on Lisa’s shallow breaths, the way her fingers twitched weakly against the sheets.
I dragged a hand over my face, forcing myself to steady my breathing. I needed to think.
I closed my eyes and reached out through the mind link.
*Enzo.* My voice was hard, clipped, carrying the weight of everything I had just witnessed. *Lisa was assaulted. Irene and a group of Lunas—along with a few Alphas—attacked her during the event. I intervened. She’s in the infirmary now. They’ve all been placed in the holding cells.*
The silence that followed was sharp, deadly. Then Enzo’s voice rumbled through the link, low and dangerous. *Explain everything.*
I did, not leaving out a single detail. The slap. The chili sauce. The wine bottle. The accusations Irene had spat about Lisa and Bryan.
By the time I finished, I felt another link flare to life. Ash. Then Atlas. Both of them joining in, demanding answers, their anger spilling through the bond like wildfire.
“They dared lay a hand on her,” I muttered aloud, pacing the infirmary floor, my fists clenching all over again. “They thought they could humiliate her in front of everyone and walk away? Not while I’m breathing.”
Lisa stirred faintly on the bed, and I immediately stopped pacing, leaning down to check on her. Her lips parted, her voice hoarse.
“Kael…”
I grabbed her hand gently, swallowing down the rage that still clawed at me. “I’m here, Lisa. You’re safe now. I won’t let anyone touch you again.”
She gave me the faintest nod, her lashes fluttering closed as exhaustion pulled her under.
I stood there for a long moment, staring at her fragile form, my chest tight. The playful Kael everyone thought they knew was gone. If anyone ever dared to hurt her again, they’d learn just how little mercy I had left to give.
And through the bond, I could feel it—the storm building. Enzo. Ash. Atlas. All of us. Irene and her cronies had no idea what storm they had just unleashed.
