Rejected By My Mate; Claimed By Lycan Quadruplets Chapter 325
Serena sat at her desk, her fingers tapping restlessly against the smooth surface.
The weight of the upcoming press conference settled heavily on her chest, and despite her efforts to remain calm, her nerves were getting the best of her.
She had faced many challenges before, but this was different.
The scandal was spreading like wildfire, and every moment that passed without her addressing it only fueled the rumors.
She grabbed her phone and quickly dialed her assistant’s number.
“Emma, come to my office,” she said, keeping her voice firm.
A few minutes later, the door swung open, and Emma stepped inside.
She was dressed in her usual professional attire—a navy-blue pencil skirt with a crisp white blouse—but Serena could tell by the worried look in her eyes that something was bothering her.
“You’re here,” Serena said, straightening up in her seat. “Is everything set for the press conference?”
Emma gave a small nod.
“Yes, ma’am. The media has started arriving. The camera crew is setting up in the conference room, and the reporters are preparing their questions.” She hesitated before continuing, shifting her tablet in her hands.
“But… there’s something else. Some of our biggest clients are still pulling out of their contracts. The scandal is making them nervous, and even with this press conference that Mr Steve Jacob did the other day, I don’t think they’re convinced that things will return to normal.”
Serena inhaled deeply, trying to keep her frustration in check.
“I expected this,” she admitted.
“But I need you to trust me, Emma. Once we clear my name, once we prove the truth, they will come back. One thing I know is, I’m good at my job and any company would want to work with me. The only thing I see as my priority now, is to clear my name off this scandal and they would come jumping back into my arms.”
Emma nodded, but the uncertainty remained on her face. “I really hope so, ma’am Serena. I wouldn’t want your company to go down this way after all the hard work and sleepless nights. You really don't deserve this at all.”
Serena gave her a reassuring nod before gesturing toward the door.
“Thanks for you trust in me, Emma. You should head down and make sure everything is ready. I’ll be there soon. I think we’ve got about an hour left before the press conference starts.”
“Okay ma’am Serena.”
Emma hesitated for a brief second, then turned and exited the office, leaving Serena alone.
The silence was almost deafening.
Her gaze shifted toward the couch near the window, and her heart softened when she saw Amy curled up, fast asleep.
The iPad she had been using to watch a movie was still in her small hands, dangling at the edge of the couch, dangerously close to falling.
Serena smiled and walked over, carefully prying the device from her daughter’s fingers before setting it on the table.
She then gently brushed a few strands of Amy’s hair out of her face.
“You deserve better than this, sweetheart. I’ll fix all of this. Mummy will fix this in an hour.” she murmured.
“I won’t let anyone ruin our lives.”
Her fingers lingered on Amy’s cheek as she tucked the blanket around her.
A deep sense of protectiveness surged through her, strengthening her resolve.
She wasn’t just fighting for herself—she was fighting for Amy too.
Just as she was about to turn back to her desk, the office door suddenly burst open.
Emma rushed inside, her hands trembling as she clutched her tablet.
Her face was pale, and her breath came out in short, panicked gasps.
Serena immediately tensed. “Emma, what’s wrong?”
Emma looked like she was struggling to form words.
Finally, she swallowed and blurted out, “A recording… a voice recording… was leaked. It’s all over the internet. Tongues are already lashing!”
Serena’s heartbeat stuttered. “What recording?”
Emma’s hands shook as she tapped on her tablet, then turned the screen toward Serena.
“I think you need to hear this.”
Serena hesitated only for a second before pressing play.
A familiar voice filled the room.
“Serena is my Mistress. My woman. I won’t stand by and watch her suffer.”
“That’s why I held that press conference—to protect her. She deserves everything, and I’ll make sure she gets it.”
“ It doesn’t matter what the media says, I know the truth and she belongs to me.”
Serena’s entire body went rigid.
She felt her breath hitch, her chest tightening as the words echoed in her ears.
This wasn’t happening.
Her fingers gripped the edge of the desk as she stared at Emma, her mind struggling to process what she had just heard.
“T-That’s… Steve Jacob’s voice.”
Emma nodded slowly. “Yes. And the internet is going crazy.”
Serena’s hands trembled as she reached for the tablet.
She scrolled through the endless flood of comments beneath the recording.
@NYgossipqueen: “So Serena really was having an affair with Steve Jacob?! This woman is unbelievable!”
@EliteBizTalk: “Rocky’s Design is done for. Clients are pulling out left and right. Who would want to be associated with this mess? She’s a real whore.”
@TruthSeeker500: “That DNA scandal was bad enough, but now she’s a billionaire’s mistress too? No wonder Ryan divorced her years ago and she tries to pin another man’s child on him. She needs to see a doctor because she’s sick in her head.”
Each comment cut deeper than the last.
Her throat tightened, and she barely managed to whisper, “No…”
Emma shifted uneasily. “The worst part is… we don’t know who leaked it. But whoever did that, they want to destroy you.”
Serena could barely hear her. The words blurred together as a dizzying wave of emotions crashed over her.
Her reputation—her company—her entire life… It was falling apart right before her eyes.
Her breath came out in shallow gasps, and she suddenly felt lightheaded.
She tried to stand, but the moment she did, her legs gave out, and she collapsed onto the floor.
“Ma’am Serena!” Emma cried, rushing to her side.
Serena barely registered Emma’s hands on her shoulders, shaking her gently.
The room spun around her, the walls closing in, the voices from the internet screaming in her head.
Everything she had worked for… gone.
All because of a lie.
