Rejected By My Mate; Claimed By Lycan Quadruplets Chapter 410
Serena had been feeling off for weeks. It had started with the constant nausea, the exhaustion that no amount of rest could fix, and the strange sensitivity to smells that had her gagging at the most unexpected moments.
At first, she dismissed it as stress.
Her life has been a whirlwind of events lately—Philip being exposed, Ryan trying to win her back, the scandal that nearly destroyed her company, and the overwhelming relief of regaining her reputation. It wasn’t surprising that her body was reacting to all of it.
But when she could barely keep food down for three days in a row, Emma had stepped in.
“You need to go to the hospital, Serena,” Emma had said firmly, standing in her office with her hands on her hips.
Serena, who was slumped over her desk, groaned. “It’s just stress.”
Emma arched her brow. “Stress makes you tired, moody, and maybe gives you headaches. Stress doesn’t make you throw up every morning for two weeks straight.”
Serena sighed, pinching the bridge of her nose. “Emma, I don’t have time to sit in a hospital waiting for some doctor to tell me I need to ‘rest’ and ‘drink more water.’ I have a company to run.”
Emma folded her arms. “Serena, you’re either going to the hospital willingly, or I’m dragging you there myself.”
Serena groaned. She knew there was no winning against Emma when she got like this.
So, she went.
She walked into the hospital expecting a mild flu diagnosis or maybe a vitamin deficiency.
What she didn’t expect was to be sitting in the doctor’s office, staring at a pregnancy test result boldly written positively glaring back at her.
Her hands went numb. The blood drained from her face.
Pregnant.
The doctor was still talking, something about vitamins and prenatal care, but Serena couldn’t process any of it.
Pregnant. With Ryan’s child. Again.
Her breathing became uneven. She felt like she was underwater, drowning in the weight of reality crashing down on her.
The drive back home was a blur.
By the time she stepped through her apartment doors, she lost it.
She collapsed onto the couch, hands tangled in her hair as panic took over.
How could this be happening? She had been so careful. She had made sure to take contraceptives after every intercouse with Ryan.
And yet, here she was—pregnant.
Her body trembled as her mind spun with a million different thoughts.
I can’t tell him.
Ryan was already trying to push his way back into her life. If he found out she was carrying his child again, he would never let it go.
She could already hear his words.
“You’re carrying my baby, Serena. You think I’m going to let you do this alone?”
And she couldn’t handle that.
She had worked so hard to break free from Ryan’s influence, to reclaim her independence.
She refused to let this baby tie her back to him.
So, she made a decision.
She was going to disappear.
She wasn’t leaving the country, but she would make sure no one knew she was pregnant.
Not Ryan. Not the media. Not the world.
Just her… and Emma.
When she finally called Emma over, she expected shock, maybe even a scolding.
What she didn’t expect was for Emma to calmly sit down beside her and say, “Okay. What’s the plan?”
Serena blinked, staring at her. “You’re not going to yell at me?”
Emma sighed. “Serena, I know you. I know if you’ve decided to keep this from Ryan, there’s no changing your mind. So, tell me what you need from me.”
Serena swallowed hard, her throat tight with emotion. “I need to stay out of the public eye. I need to make sure no one finds out. I’ll work from home. We’ll have all our meetings online. You’ll handle any in-person business.”
Emma nodded. “Done.”
Serena exhaled shakily. “And when my belly starts to show…”
Emma gave a firm nod. “We’ll make sure no one sees you.”
Serena felt a wave of relief.
She wasn’t alone in this.
Over the next few weeks, she disappeared from the public eye.
She informed her team that she would be working remotely due to ‘personal reasons,’ leaving Emma in charge of all external affairs.
The media speculated wildly.
Some believed she was just stepping back after the chaos of the scandal. Others thought she was planning some major expansion and needed time to strategize.
No one suspected the truth.
And while Serena hid away, Rocky’s Design flourished.
New deals, bigger contracts, high-profile collaborations—the company was thriving more than ever.
But despite all the success, Serena was struggling.
Her pregnancy was not easy.
The morning sickness lasted all day. The exhaustion was unbearable.
And worst of all? She was doing it all alone.
She had gone through pregnancy alone before, but this time, it felt harder.
Because this time, she knew Ryan still cared.
Every time he called, every time he showed up at her office asking for her, it took everything in her to push him away.
But she had to.
Because if she didn’t, he would see the truth.
And she wasn’t ready for that.
One evening, as she lay on the couch, Emma walked in with takeout.
“You’re a saint,” Serena muttered, sitting up slowly.
Emma plopped down beside her. “How’s the baby?”
Serena sighed. “Active. Too active. I swear, it’s like they know I’m trying to rest and decide to start kicking.”
Emma chuckled, handing her a container of food. “So… do you ever think about telling him?”
Serena froze.
She didn’t answer right away. She just stared at the food in her hands, her chest tightening.
“Serena,” Emma said softly. “You know you can’t hide this forever.”
Serena swallowed hard. “I know.”
“But you’re still not going to tell him?”
Serena exhaled slowly, shaking her head. “Not yet. Maybe not ever.”
Emma sighed, but she didn’t push. “Okay. Just promise me something?”
Serena looked at her.
“Promise me that if it ever gets too hard, you’ll let me help you.”
Serena felt a lump in her throat. She reached over and squeezed Emma’s hand.
“I promise.”
And for now, that was enough.
