Rejected By My Mate; Claimed By Lycan Quadruplets Chapter 372
The car ride back to the hotel was quiet. The sky had darkened, the streets illuminated by the soft golden glow of Parisian street lights.
Serena sat comfortably in the passenger seat, her bags from the day’s shopping neatly placed beside her, while Phillippe drove with an effortless ease.
The entire day had been… surprising. She had let herself indulge in the beauty of Paris, in the luxury of shopping, in the moment.
But now, reality was setting back in. Tomorrow, she would be on a plane back to Los Angeles, returning to the chaos she had momentarily escaped.
“You’re awfully quiet,” Phillippe noted, his voice breaking the silence.
Serena sighed, glancing at him. “Just thinking.”
He smirked. “About me, I hope.”
Serena rolled her eyes, shaking her head in amusement. “More like everything waiting for me back home.”
Phillippe nodded, eyes still on the road. “Your scandal?”
“My company,” Serena corrected. “The scandal is just a distraction. What matters is keeping control of what I built.”
Phillippe hummed. “And do you think you will?”
She exhaled, her fingers lightly tapping against her lap. “I don’t know. But I won’t go down without a fight.”
Phillippe chuckled. “Good. I wouldn’t respect you otherwise.”
When they arrived at the hotel, Phillippe parked the car, stepping out first to open her door. Serena grabbed her shopping bags, stepping into the grand lobby, the faint scent of roses lingering in the air.
The hotel was quieter now, the evening guests having retreated to their rooms, leaving only the soft hum of piano music playing in the background.
Phillippe followed her to the elevator, his hands tucked into his pockets. “So, this is it,” he mused as they stepped inside.
Serena smirked. “You sound like you’re going to miss me.”
Phillippe chuckled, tilting his head. “Perhaps. You do make excellent company.”
The elevator doors opened, and they walked down the hall toward her suite. She turned to face him at her door, adjusting the shopping bags in her arms.
“Thank you,” she said. “For everything.”
Phillippe gave her a slow smile. “It was my pleasure.”
Serena nodded before turning to open her door, stepping inside. She hesitated for a second, then looked back at him. “Goodnight, Phillippe.”
“Bonne nuit, Serena.”
With that, she shut the door.
Alone in the quiet of her suite, Serena exhaled deeply, rubbing her temples. The day had been long, but she wasn’t done yet.
She set her bags aside and immediately walked to the closet, pulling out her suitcase. She had an early morning flight, and the last thing she wanted was to rush in the morning.
She packed everything neatly, carefully placing the gifts she had bought for Amy, Emma, and herself. She folded her clothes methodically, making sure everything fit perfectly.
Once done, she changed into a silk nightgown, slipping into bed. The exhaustion of the past few days weighed on her, and before she could overthink anything, sleep pulled her under.
Morning came too soon.
The alarm buzzed loudly, pulling Serena from her sleep. She groaned, reaching out to silence it before forcing herself out of bed. The sky was still a deep shade of blue, the city just beginning to stir.
She showered quickly, dressed in a comfortable yet stylish black pantsuit, and applied light makeup. She didn’t need to look overly formal for a flight, but she still wanted to look presentable.
By the time she stepped out of her suite, her suitcase in tow, Phillippe was already waiting in the lobby with his guards.
“You’re awake,” Phillippe mused as she approached.
Serena smirked. “I had no choice.”
He chuckled before nodding to one of his men, who took her suitcase. “Before we leave, we have one last thing to take care of.”
Serena nodded, knowing exactly what he meant.
The deal.
They were led into one of the hotel’s private conference rooms, where the final contract was placed neatly on the table. Phillippe sat across from her, watching as she reviewed the documents one last time before picking up the pen.
“Sure you’re ready for this?” Phillippe asked.
Serena glanced up at him, a confident smirk on her lips. “I never sign anything I’m not ready for.”
With that, she signed her name at the bottom, sealing the deal.
Phillippe smirked. “Congratulations, Serena. You just expanded your company into Europe.”
Serena exhaled, leaning back in her chair. This deal wasn’t just about expansion. It was about proving her worth, about showing the board that she was still the best person to lead Rocky’s Designs.
She stood up, offering her hand. Phillippe took it, shaking it firmly before lifting it to his lips, pressing a brief kiss against the back of her hand.
“Until we meet again,” he said.
Serena smirked. “Try not to miss me too much.”
Phillippe chuckled as she turned, walking out of the room with her head held high.
The airport was bustling with movement, people rushing through security, announcements echoing through the terminals. Serena checked in, her passport scanned, her luggage sent off.
As she waited at the gate, she pulled out her phone, scrolling through emails from Emma. The board was still restless, but this deal was exactly what she needed to shift their focus.
When her flight was finally called, she exhaled deeply, stepping onto the plane.
Paris had been an experience—one she wouldn’t forget anytime soon.
Now, it was time to return to reality.
Meanwhile, across the ocean, in an upscale private lounge, Mr. Thomas Winters sat comfortably, a glass of whiskey in his hand.
Across from him sat a man in his mid-sixties, sharp in his tailored suit, a presence that commanded attention. He was one of the top shareholders of Rocky’s Designs—a man who had previously mentioned removing Serena as CEO.
“I assume you know why I asked to meet,” Thomas said, swirling his glass lazily.
The man nodded. “You want Serena gone.”
Thomas smirked. “I want what’s best for the company. And right now, that means we need to reconsider who’s leading it.”
The man leaned back in his chair, his fingers tapping against the armrest. “The scandal has certainly put a dent in the company’s reputation. Some of us are beginning to think she may be more of a liability than an asset.”
Thomas nodded, sipping his drink. “That’s exactly my point. Her leadership is unstable. The media eats up everything she does, and the investors? They’re getting nervous.”
The man studied him. “And you want to convince the others to vote her out?”
Thomas leaned forward slightly, his expression sharp. “Not just convince. Ensure.”
The man arched his brow. “That won’t be easy. Some of the shareholders still support her.”
Thomas smirked. “Then we change their minds. I have influence, resources. You bring me the ones who are hesitant, and I’ll take care of the rest.”
The man exhaled, considering the offer. “If we do this, we need a majority vote.”
Thomas lifted his glass. “Leave that to me.”
The man hesitated only for a moment before nodding.
Thomas smirked.
Serena had no idea what was waiting for her back home.
