Rejected By My Mate; Claimed By Lycan Quadruplets Chapter 355
Ryan gripped the steering wheel so tightly that his knuckles turned white. His jaw was clenched, his mind spinning with frustration, anger, and exhaustion. He couldn’t believe his father had done this to him. He couldn’t believe Kate had let it happen.
They had trapped him, boxed him in, and now the whole world believed he was engaged to a woman he didn’t even want to be engaged to.
His father had made it clear—there was no way out of this. But Ryan refused to accept that.
And now, he needed to clear his head.
There was only one place he wanted to be right now.
With Serena.
Before he could even process the thought fully, he had already made the turn, driving through the quiet streets until he arrived at her building. The lights in her apartment were still on, but he knew it was late. Amy was probably already asleep.
Ryan stepped out of the car, barely taking a breath before making his way to her door. He knocked, not even sure what he was going to say when she opened it.
The door swung open a few moments later, and there she was.
Serena stood in the doorway, wearing a loose satin robe that barely covered her curves. Her long, wavy hair was slightly messy, as if she had been getting ready for bed.
Her blue eyes widened slightly at the sight of him, but she didn’t say anything right away.
Ryan didn’t say anything either.
He just stared at her, his chest rising and falling with heavy breaths. He was frustrated, tired, drained. But seeing her? Just standing here in front of her made something inside him relax.
Serena studied his face for a long moment. She could see it—he was troubled, stressed, and looking for an escape.
She could be that for him.
Without a word, she reached forward, pulling him inside. The door shut behind them, and as soon as it did, Ryan exhaled a shaky breath, his forehead resting against hers.
She didn’t ask questions. She didn’t demand answers.
Instead, she kissed him.
It started slow, soft, but within seconds, it became something more. Ryan grabbed her waist, pulling her flush against him as their lips moved in sync.
Serena let out a quiet moan as his hands slipped under her robe, his fingers tracing along her bare skin.
She didn’t care about his engagement.
She didn’t care about what the world thought.
This was who they were now—two people who only existed in stolen moments, in the quiet of the night, where nothing else mattered but the way they made each other feel.
Before she knew it, they were in her bedroom.
And for the rest of the night, nothing else existed as they fucked themselves senseless.
The morning sun streamed through the windows, casting a golden glow over the room. Serena blinked awake, stretching slightly as she felt the warmth of the man beside her.
Ryan was still asleep, his arm draped over her waist.
She turned slightly, watching him.
She had never seen him this peaceful. When they were married, he had always seemed restless, as if his mind was constantly at war with itself. Even back then, she knew he was fighting against something.
Now, it was the same.
But it wasn’t her problem anymore.
She slowly slipped out of bed, careful not to wake him. Wrapping her robe around herself, she made her way to Amy’s room.
Her daughter was already awake, sitting on the edge of her bed as she rubbed her sleepy eyes.
“Morning, baby,” Serena said softly, walking over to sit beside her.
Amy yawned. “Morning, Mommy.”
Serena smoothed down her hair. “Are you ready to go back to school?”
Amy blinked up at her, her little face scrunching up. “Really?”
Serena nodded. “Yes, sweetheart. Things are better now. It’s safe for you to go back.”
Ever since Kate’s scandalous interview had damaged her company, Serena had pulled Amy out of school, not wanting her daughter to be caught in the mess.
But now, with Ryan’s engagement announcement overshadowing everything else, the chaos had settled down.
It was time for things to go back to normal.
Amy hesitated for a moment before nodding. “Okay.”
Serena smiled and kissed her forehead. “Good girl. Now, let’s get you ready.”
After helping Amy freshen up and get dressed, she made her breakfast before finally returning to her room to check if Ryan was still there.
He wasn’t.
The bed was empty, the sheets slightly rumpled.
Serena wasn’t surprised.
Ryan always left before the morning light hit or it was the other way round of her asking him to leave.
And that was fine.
She wasn’t expecting anything more.
By the time she finished getting ready for the day and dropped Amy off at school, she was already running a little late for work.
When she arrived at her office, Emma, her assistant, was already waiting for her.
“Good morning, Ms. Winthrop,” Emma greeted, following Serena into her office.
“Morning,” Serena replied, taking a seat behind her desk. “Any updates?”
Emma hesitated for a second before nodding. “Some good, some not so good.”
Serena arched her brow. “Let’s start with the good.”
Emma pulled out a file. “Several of our clients have started reaching out again. It seems the engagement announcement between Ryan and Kate has taken the spotlight off the interview scandal. People are starting to move past it.”
Serena smirked slightly. “Figures. Society loves distractions.”
Emma nodded. “Yes, and luckily for us, this was a big one.”
Serena tapped her fingers against the desk. “And the bad news?”
Emma sighed. “Some of our more high-profile clients haven’t responded to the apology emails. A few of them have even refused to take calls.”
Serena pressed her lips together. She had expected that. Damage like this didn’t go away overnight.
She leaned back in her chair. “Alright. We focus on the ones who are still with us. Start setting up meetings, make sure they know we’re still committed to them.”
Emma nodded, jotting it down. “Understood.”
Serena exhaled, rubbing her temples. “And Emma?”
“Yes, ma’am?”
“Prepare for the worst. Because something tells me Kate isn’t done causing problems.”
Emma gave her a knowing look. “I was thinking the same thing.”
Serena smirked.
She wasn’t worried.
If Kate wanted to play dirty, Serena was more than ready.
