Rejected By My Mate; Claimed By Lycan Quadruplets Chapter 322
Kate stirred awake as the soft rustling of clothes reached her ears.
She blinked, adjusting to the dim light filtering through the curtains, and turned her head to see Ryan standing by the mirror, buttoning up his crisp white shirt.
His dark hair was slightly damp from his morning shower, and he looked sharp in his tailored suit.
For a moment, she simply watched him, taking in the way his fingers moved expertly over the buttons, the way his brows furrowed slightly as he focused on his tie.
This was the man she had fallen in love with. Strong, handsome, powerful.
The man who used to adore her way back from high school, shower her with gifts from the time she returned back into his life after leaving, kiss her awake in the mornings to make up for the time they’ve lost.
But ever since she came back—his Ex wife, Serena—everything had changed in a blink of an eye.
Ryan had become distant, his affection fading into cold indifference. Always claiming to be busy and barely had time for her.
Until now.
The moment she claimed the loss of their baby, he returned back to the Ryan she had always known and loved without a single doubt.
The man she was ready to do whatever it takes to be with— even if it means taking the life of anyone who steps in her way.
She let out a soft sigh and, with a low, sleepy voice, asked, “Hey baby, You’re leaving already?”
Ryan glanced at her through the mirror, a small smile tugging at his lips. “Yeah, I have a lot to handle at the office today.”
He turned to her, walking over to the bed, and leaned down to press a gentle kiss on her forehead. His touch was light, but it sent a warm thrill through her.
“I made breakfast for you,” he said softly. “It’s on the dining table. Thought you’d be hungry when you woke up.”
Kate felt her heart swell.
This was what she always wanted.
Ryan, doting on her, taking care of her. If only he had been this attentive before, instead of making her fight so hard for his love.
But it didn’t matter now—her plan was working and that’s all that matters now.
She reached out, her fingers brushing his hand. “That’s really sweet, Ryan. I’m so happy to have the old you back. Thank you, babe.”
Ryan gave her a small nod. “It’s fine, dear. Make sure you eat, okay?”
“I sure will,” she murmured, her voice laced with fake exhaustion. “Just not right now. I want to rest a little longer.”
Ryan hesitated for a second. “Are you sure you’re okay? I can bring it over if you’d rather eat in bed.”
Kate smiled, shaking her head— loving every bit of his care for her. “No, no. I’ll get up soon.”
Ryan exhaled through his nose and studied her for a moment.
Finally, he leaned in again, this time kissing her cheek. “Alright. I’ll see you later.”
Kate nodded and watched as he grabbed his briefcase and walked toward the door.
The moment it shut behind him, she threw the covers off and sat up quickly.
The fake fatigue was gone in an instant.
She slipped out of bed, hurrying to the window at the living room. Peeking through the curtains, she watched as Ryan got into his car.
He lingered for a moment, likely checking his phone or adjusting something in the car, before finally driving off.
Kate waited until his car disappeared down the street before letting out an excited squeal.
She spun on her heels, practically dancing around the living room, her arms swinging in delight.
“He’s coming back to me,” she whispered to herself. “Finally… finally, he’s starting to see things my way again.”
She twirled again, laughing as she hugged herself.
This was exactly what she had wanted—Ryan back in her arms, devoted to her.
He might still be a bit cold, but she could see the cracks forming.
The guilt, the responsibility towards her.
She just had to push a little further, and soon, he would be hers completely.
She plopped onto the couch, a satisfied smirk on her lips.
Just then, her phone buzzed on the coffee table. She reached for it and saw Rolly’s name flashing on the screen.
Pressing the answer button, she brought the phone to her ear. “Hey, Rolly.”
Rolly’s voice came through, playful and teasing. “Morning, sleeping beauty. You’re up late.”
Kate rolled her eyes, but there was amusement in them. “I deserved the extra sleep. I had a very fulfilling night.”
“Oh? Does that mean things are working with Ryan?”
Kate stretched out on the couch, grinning.
“Not completely, but I’m getting there. He’s starting to act like he used to—caring, sweet… attentive. He even made me breakfast in bed the other day and also made breakfast today.”
Rolly let out a low whistle. “Wow. That’s something. Maybe this whole fake pregnancy thing really did work.”
Kate’s grin widened. “Exactly. He’s so determined to make Serena pay for the ‘baby’ I lost, and it’s only bringing us closer.”
“Well, good for you,” Rolly said. “But listen, I just sent you the address. Are you coming or not?”
Kate sat up, her expression turning serious. “Oh, right! I almost forgot.” She glanced at the time on her phone. “I’ll be there in thirty minutes.”
“You better not be late,” Rolly warned. “This is important.”
“I know, I know,” Kate assured her. “I’ll be there soon.”
Ending the call, she jumped to her feet and rushed toward the room she shares with Ryan. She couldn’t afford to waste time.
After a quick shower, she picked out a fitted black dress that hugged her curves perfectly and paired it with sleek heels.
She tied her hair into a neat ponytail and grabbed a pair of sunglasses before heading out the door.
Sliding into her car, she checked the address Rolly had sent her. It was a luxury hotel downtown.
A small smirk formed on her lips.
Whoever she was about to meet, it was clear they were someone important.
