Rejected By My Mate; Claimed By Lycan Quadruplets Chapter 162

Beta Ash's POV

I swung the training sword hard, sweat dripping down my back as the sun beat mercilessly on the yard. The clash of steel echoed with each strike, the younger wolves sparring against one another under my instruction. I corrected stances, barked out orders, and pushed them harder than usual, because Enzo had made it clear—our pack couldn’t afford to slack with rogues lurking around every border.

I was just about to spar with Kael when I noticed movement at the far end of the yard. Calla. She was running, hair disheveled, eyes wide, her chest rising and falling like she had sprinted straight from the gates. My instincts flared before she even reached me. Something was wrong.

“Ash!” she shouted, stumbling forward until she was right in front of me, clutching her side. “It’s Lisa—she hasn’t come back yet. I don’t know where she is.”

I froze, sword dropping slightly. “What do you mean she hasn’t come back? Back from where?”

“She left this morning,” Calla said breathlessly, her hands shaking. “I thought she went to see Fiona, but she never returned. I went to check… she’s not in the kitchen, not in the yard, not in her room. She’s gone.”

The noise in the training yard died instantly. Every warrior within earshot stiffened. My wolf stirred restlessly, a low growl building in my chest.

“Gone?” I repeated, trying to stay calm though the word burned through me like acid.

Calla nodded quickly, tears springing to her eyes. “I can’t catch her scent anymore, Ash. It’s faint—like she masked it, or someone masked it for her. What if the rogues took her? What if she’s been captured?”

My stomach clenched hard. For a moment, my mind raced through every possibility—rogues dragging her off, traitors inside the pack, her wandering off alone. Nothing made sense.

I didn’t hesitate. I yanked my phone from my pocket and connected the mind link with Enzo and the rest of the core fighters.

‘Lisa’s missing,’ I pushed the thought sharp and urgent into the link. ‘Calla says she never came back to the pack. No scent. No trace.’

I didn’t even finish before Enzo’s growl roared down the link, vibrating through every fiber of me. ‘WHAT?!’

I closed my eyes briefly, steadying myself. *We don’t know if she was taken or if she left. We need to search—now.*

Kael cursed loudly, dropping his sword with a clang. “She was fine last night, wasn’t she? What the hell happened?”

“We’ll find out,” I snapped, already marching toward the gates. “Split up. Sweep the borders, the surrounding woods, the road leading to Bryan’s territory. Anywhere she might have gone.”

Enzo’s voice was harsh, ragged with fury. *I’m coming now. Don’t stop searching until she’s found.*

I cut the link and dialed Bryan’s pack immediately, praying maybe Lisa had truly gone to visit Fiona, that this was all a misunderstanding. My gut, though, told me otherwise.

The call connected, and Bryan’s deep voice answered, cautious. “Ash? What’s wrong?”

I didn’t waste time. “Is Fiona there? Did Lisa come to your pack today?”

There was a pause on the line, then Bryan’s tone shifted. “Fiona? I don’t know who that is. Give me a minute—I’ll ask around. Call me back.”

I squeezed the phone tighter, my jaw locking. “Bryan, this is important. If Lisa’s with someone from your pack, we need to know now.”

“I said I’ll get back to you,” he repeated, then cut the call.

I stood there for a second, pulse hammering in my ears. The others were already shifting into their wolves, sprinting across the yard and scattering through the woods. I couldn’t shake the sick feeling crawling up my throat.

“She wouldn’t just vanish,” Calla whispered beside me, voice trembling. “She wouldn’t.”

I didn’t answer. Because a part of me—the part that always studied Lisa’s eyes, her silences—knew she might.

“Kael!” I barked when I saw him circling back toward me. “Anything?”

“Nothing,” he snarled, frustration rolling off him. “Her scent’s cold. Like she wiped it away intentionally. Ash…” He stopped, his golden eyes narrowing. “If she didn’t get taken, then she left on her own.”

The words slammed into me like a blade. “You don’t know that.”

“Don’t I?” Kael shot back. “Think, Ash. She was restless. Always asking questions. Always looking like she wanted to run. You didn’t see it?”

I shoved him against the wall, my wolf bristling violently. “Shut up. She wouldn’t leave us. She wouldn’t leave Enzo.”

But his words gnawed at me, and before I could say anything else, Kael jerked free and sniffed the air sharply. His gaze flicked toward the pack house. “Her scent. It’s faint—but it’s leading back inside.”

We didn’t waste a second. Enzo had just arrived, fury radiating off him in waves, and when he saw us sprinting inside, he followed without a word.

We stormed straight into Lisa’s room. The moment I stepped inside, my chest constricted. The air smelled like her—soft, lingering—but muted, like it had been sealed away for the last time.

And then I saw it.

On the bed lay a small white stick, the faint double line glaring back at me. I froze. For a second, my brain refused to process. A pregnancy test. Positive.

“What the hell is this?” Kael muttered, his voice shaky for once.

Calla gasped, covering her mouth. “No… no, this can’t…”

I stepped closer, my eyes burning as I picked it up with trembling hands. My chest felt like it had cracked open.

“Ash,” Enzo’s voice cut low, sharp. I looked over and saw him holding a folded piece of paper that had been tucked under Lisa’s pillow. His hands shook as he unfolded it, his eyes scanning the words.

His face drained of all color.

“What?” I demanded, though I already felt the devastation bleeding into me. “What does it say?”

Enzo’s throat worked as he forced the words out, his voice raw. “She knows. She knows everything. She says she knows how we all played her… and by the time we find this note, she’ll be gone from our lives.”

The silence that followed was suffocating.

Kael cursed again, slamming his fist against the wall so hard the plaster cracked. Calla broke down sobbing in the corner, her shoulders shaking violently.

And me—I just stood there, clutching the test in my hand like it was the only thing keeping me upright.

Pregnant. She was pregnant. And she still left.

“No,” I said finally, shaking my head like denial alone could undo this. “She wouldn’t just leave without a fight. Without telling us face-to-face. This isn’t her.”

“She left the note, Ash,” Enzo growled, his voice breaking at the edges. His eyes were wild, filled with a pain I’d never seen in him. “She left it in her own handwriting. She’s gone.”

I wanted to argue, to tell him we could still find her, but my throat burned too much to form the words. The pregnancy test trembled in my grip until finally it slipped from my fingers and landed softly on the bed.

Everything felt unreal. Like a nightmare I couldn’t wake from.

“She’s out there alone,” Calla sobbed, looking between us desperately. “If the rogues catch her—if something happens—”

Enzo cut her off with a roar so loud it rattled the windows. His wolf pushed against his skin, eyes glowing a dangerous gold. “We find her. I don’t care what she wrote. I don’t care what she thinks she knows. SHE IS MINE. And I will tear this world apart until I bring her back.”

His rage filled the room, but beneath it, I could hear the cracks—the guilt, the grief, the fear.

And for the first time, I felt it too. We had all failed her. Somehow, we’d driven Lisa to the point where leaving us behind seemed easier than staying.

I stared at the note in Enzo’s hand, then at the empty space where Lisa should have been. My chest felt hollow, my wolf restless and grieving.

Wherever she was now, she was carrying a part of us with her. And we were already too late.
