Rejected By My Mate; Claimed By Lycan Quadruplets Chapter 405

The drive back from the warehouse was filled with a heavy, suffocating tension.

Emma sat in the backseat with Serena and Amy, her protective instincts on high alert as she kept glancing at the little girl, who was curled up against her mother’s side, exhausted from the ordeal.

Serena was visibly shaken, though she tried her best to put on a strong front for her daughter.

She gently ran her fingers through Amy’s curls, whispering soft reassurances as she placed a kiss on her forehead.

“We’re safe now,” Serena murmured. “Mommy’s here. You don’t have to be scared anymore. Those bad men have been arrested and I’m sorry for making you go through this.”

Amy let out a soft hum, her small fingers gripping onto Serena’s dress like a lifeline.

Emma sighed, shifting in her seat. “You both need to rest and have a good steamy shower to calm all of your nerves,” she said. “You’ve been through too much in just a few hours.”

Serena nodded, though her mind was still racing. “I just want to get home.”

Emma gave her a comforting squeeze on the arm. “I’ll stay with you for as long as you need and also help you prepare lunch.”

“Thanks Emma. You are just the best.” Serena muttered, making Emma grin so widely as she made a small dance.

The car turned into the street leading to Serena’s house. Emma knew she would stay the night if she had to.

Serena and Amy had been through a nightmare, and she wouldn’t leave them alone.

Meanwhile, in the other convoy, Ryan drove in silence, gripping the steering wheel so tightly his fingers ached.

In the passenger seat, Steve Jacobs sat with an unreadable expression, while behind them, police officers followed closely, escorting Thomas Winters.

Ryan still didn’t understand why they were heading to his parents’ house.

“What exactly do you expect to happen at the Winters mansion?” Ryan finally asked, breaking the silence.

Steve glanced at him, his gaze steady. “There are some things that need to come to light. Things that should have been exposed years ago.”

Ryan’s frown deepened. “What things?”

Steve didn’t answer right away. Instead, he shifted slightly in his seat, his fingers tapping against his knee. “It’s better if I ask your mother in front of everyone and get everything settled once and for all.”

That only made Ryan more suspicious.

“You say that like my mother has something to hide,” Ryan muttered.

Steve’s lips pressed into a thin line. “It’s not about hiding. It’s about recognizing the truth.”

Ryan glanced in the rearview mirror, watching as Thomas sat handcuffed in the backseat of a police vehicle, his face twisted in pain from the gunshot wound in his leg.

Nothing made sense right now.

Thomas had kidnapped Serena and Amy. That alone was unforgivable. But what Steve was insinuating— that there was something bigger at play—unsettled Ryan deeply.

Still, he didn’t argue. He just kept driving, following the familiar path back to his parents’ home.

The Winters mansion stood tall and grand as ever, its pristine walls and towering columns giving off an air of wealth and power.

As they pulled into the long driveway, police cars followed, their presence stark against the luxurious estate.

The few house staff lingering outside quickly rushed in to inform the household of the unexpected guests.

Ryan stepped out first, his eyes scanning the familiar grounds before shifting toward the police vehicle that held Thomas.

The moment the officers pulled him out, Thomas let out a groan, his injured leg barely holding him up.

“I swear,” Thomas muttered through gritted teeth, “you’re making a mistake bringing me here.”

Ryan ignored him.

A maid quickly rushed inside to inform Mrs. Winters. Within minutes, the grand doors of the mansion opened, and Margaret Winters stepped out.

Her sharp eyes immediately scanned the scene, taking in the presence of the police officers, the familiar yet unwelcome sight of Steve Jacobs, and—most of all—her husband in handcuffs.

She stood at the top of the stairs, her presence as commanding as ever, but Ryan didn’t miss the slight flicker of confusion in her expression.

“What the hell is going on?” she demanded, her voice laced with shock and anger.

Ryan stepped forward, his expression grim. “Your husband kidnapped Serena and Amy.”

Margaret’s eyes widened slightly before she turned to Thomas, her face twisting in disbelief. “Tell me this isn’t true.”

Thomas scoffed, shaking his head. “Oh, so now you care? After all these years, now you suddenly want to act like you’ve always cared about her?”

Ryan clenched his jaw. “It’s not just an accusation, Mother. We have a recording. He admitted to it himself.”

Margaret took a step back, her hand going to her chest as if she had been struck. Her gaze flickered between Ryan and Thomas, the realization slowly setting in.

Her husband had crossed a line that not even she could defend.

But then, her eyes landed on Steve Jacobs, and something shifted in her expression.

Her mouth opened slightly, her brows furrowed in confusion. “What are you doing here?”

Ryan turned toward Steve, who had remained silent until now.

And then, Steve spoke.

Margaret’s entire body stiffened as Steve’s gaze locked onto her. His voice was calm, yet there was something heavy behind it.

“Margaret,” he said smoothly, “I want you to take a good look at your husband.”

Margaret frowned, the confusion on her face deepening. “What?” What surprised her more was how he knows her name.

Steve stepped forward slightly, his presence unwavering. “Look at him closely.”

A heavy silence fell over the room.

Margaret hesitated, then turned toward Thomas.

Her eyes trailed over him—his face, his build, the way he carried himself.

And then, suddenly, she froze.

Ryan caught the way her fingers tightened at her sides, the way her breath hitched for the briefest second.

She didn’t speak.

She just stared.

A deep, suffocating tension filled the air as everyone watched her.

Ryan’s pulse pounded violently in his ears. He had never seen his mother shaken like this.

“What the hell is going on here?”
