Rejected By My Mate; Claimed By Lycan Quadruplets Chapter 259

Ryan stood frozen in place, staring at Kate in disbelief. His heart pounded in his chest, and for a long moment, he couldn’t find his voice.

When he finally did, his words came out in a shaky breath.

“Kate… that’s impossible,” he said, running a hand through his hair.

“The last time… the last time anything happened between us was a month ago. There’s no way you could have gotten pregnant from that moment.”

Kate crossed her arms and frowned at him, leaning against the couch.

“Oh, come on, Ryan. You know just one time is enough. And guess what? It happened.”

Ryan shook his head, stepping back like he needed to put some distance between them.

“No… no, this isn’t happening. It can’t be. Are you sure?”

Kate rolled her eyes. “Of course I’m sure! Do you think I’d lie about something like this?”

Ryan let out a humorless laugh, pacing around the living room. “Wouldn’t you, Kate? Perhaps you’ve done worse.”

Kate’s eyes darkened, but she forced a smile.

“Ryan, you can’t change the fact that I’m having your baby. Whether you like it or not, we’re connected now. We’ve been together for years— This is a good opportunity to make things official!”

Ryan clenched his jaw, his thoughts racing.

He needed to get out of there, away from her, away from the mess his life was becoming.

Without another word, he turned toward the door.

“Where are you going?” Kate asked, watching him closely.

Ryan didn’t answer.

He grabbed his keys from the table and walked out, slamming the door behind him.

He got into his car and sped off, gripping the steering wheel tightly.

“What the hell am I supposed to do now?” he thought.

Just when things were finally getting better—when Serena had started trusting him again—Kate had to drop this bomb on him.

His mind raced with worst-case scenarios. What if Serena found out? What if this ruined everything?

He let out a deep sigh and quickly dialed Ethan’s number.

If there was anyone who could help him think straight, it was his best friend.

After a few rings, Ethan’s groggy voice came through. “Ryan? Man, do you know what time it is?”

Ryan ignored him. “Ethan, I need to see you. Now.”

There was a pause before Ethan sighed. “Alright, where do you want to meet?”

“The ice rink,” Ryan said. “I need to clear my head.”

Ethan groaned. “Of course. Fine, I’ll be there at fifteen.”

Fifteen minutes later, Ryan stood in the ice rink, strapping on his skates while Ethan sat beside him, yawning.

“You better have a good reason for dragging me out this late,” Ethan mumbled, tightening his laces. “I was having the best dream.”

Ryan exhaled. “Kate’s pregnant.”

Ethan froze, mid-motion. “What?”

Ryan stood up and skated onto the ice, needing to move.

“Yeah. She just told me. Said it’s mine.”

Ethan followed him onto the rink, skating beside him.

“Whoa, hold up. Are you serious? But I thought… I thought you two weren’t having anything together for a while now? How come she’s suddenly pregnant?.”

“We weren’t having anything together,” Ryan muttered, pushing himself forward. “At least, I thought we were.”

Ethan let out a low whistle. “Man… I don’t even know what to say.”

Ryan skated harder, faster.

“I don’t either. I mean… What am I supposed to do, Ethan? Everything was going fine, and now this.”

Ethan shrugged. “Are you sure it’s yours?”

Ryan slowed down, staring at him.

“That’s exactly what I asked her. She says it is. Says it happened that one time last month.”

Ethan scratched his head. “Damn… just when things were looking up with Serena, huh?”

Ryan groaned. “Exactly! If she finds out… I don’t even want to think about it.”

Ethan skated in circles around him. “Well, you gotta figure out what you want, man. Are you gonna step up if it’s true?”

Ryan looked away. “I don’t even know if I can believe her yet.”

Ethan nodded. “Might want to get a test first before you go ruining your life over this.”

Ryan sighed, rubbing his face. “Yeah… yeah, you’re right.”

They skated in silence for a while before Ethan patted Ryan’s shoulder. “Whatever happens, you’re not alone, man. We’ll figure this out.”

Ryan gave a small nod, grateful for his friend’s support.

Meanwhile, across town, Kate sat in her car outside a small, dimly lit office building.

She scrolled through her phone and opened a message from her private investigator.

“Serena Winthrop. Address: 452 Willow Lane. Apartment 3B.”

A slow smile spread across Kate’s lips.

“Gotcha,” she murmured.

Without hesitation, she started her car and drove toward Serena’s place.

The city lights blurred past as she made her way through the streets. She didn’t care that it was late.

In fact, it was better this way—less chance of Ryan showing up and ruining her plans.

When she arrived at the apartment complex, she parked her car and stepped out, smoothing down her dress.

With a confident smirk, she walked up to the front door and rang the bell.

Inside, Serena was in her bedroom, typing away on her laptop when the sound of the doorbell startled her.

She glanced at the clock—almost midnight.

Frowning, she stood up and made her way to the door, wondering who it could be at this hour. Maybe Ryan?

When she opened the door, her eyes widened in surprise.

“Kate?” Serena said, taken aback.

Kate grinned, waving dramatically. “Longest time, Serena Winthrop.”

Serena blinked, clearly not expecting to see Kate standing there in the middle of the night.

“What are you doing here? How did you even get my home address?” Serena asked, her tone laced with suspicion.

Kate’s grin widened. “Oh, I just thought we should catch up. You know, girl to girl. As for the address, I got it from Ryan.”

Serena narrowed her eyes in surprise. “Wow, Ryan? Anyways, It’s late, Kate. Whatever this is, it can wait.”

Kate tilted her head. “Oh, I don’t think it can.”

Serena crossed her arms. “What do you want, Kate? We weren’t friends and could never be. So, why this sudden visit?”

Kate leaned against the doorframe, her eyes gleaming with mischief. “Oh, you’ll find out soon enough.”

Serena tightened her grip on the door. “Look, I don’t have time for your games. If this is about Ryan—”

Kate smirked. “Of course it’s about Ryan. Isn’t everything about him?”

Serena’s face hardened. “Whatever it is, I don’t want to hear it.”

Kate chuckled. “Oh, but you will.”

Serena stared at her for a long moment before stepping aside. “Fine. Say what you came to say and leave.”

Kate stepped inside, her heels clicking against the hardwood floor as the door shut behind her.
