Rejected By My Mate; Claimed By Lycan Quadruplets Chapter 346
Ryan sat in his office, staring blankly at the computer screen in front of him.
The numbers, the reports, the emails—they all blurred together, meaningless lines and figures that failed to capture his attention.
His fingers drummed restlessly against the polished wooden surface of his desk.
He couldn’t concentrate.
His mind kept drifting back to the mess unraveling outside these walls.
He had ordered Jefferson to take down Kate’s interview from every media outlet, and yet, he still felt uneasy.
Until he received confirmation that it was done, he wouldn’t be able to breathe properly.
Leaning back in his chair, Ryan exhaled heavily, rubbing his temples. He hated this—this constant feeling of damage control, of always trying to put out fires that Kate kept igniting.
He had given her everything, stood by her side, yet she had gone and done something so reckless, so damaging, that it made him question everything.
The knock at the door made him sit up straight. “Come in,” he called, his voice sharp.
Jefferson stepped inside, his usual composed demeanor in place. “Sir, it’s done. I’ve gotten rid of it,” he said without hesitation.
Ryan let out a breath of relief. “All of it? Every damn thing?”
“Yes, sir. The videos, the articles, even the smaller blogs. Everything has been wiped clean. No trace left,” Jefferson confirmed.
For the first time that day, Ryan allowed himself to relax slightly.
“Good,” he muttered, more to himself than to Jefferson. He didn’t want anything ruining the fragile peace he was beginning to build with Serena.
Glancing at the clock on his desk, he realized it was already past 3 p.m. His gaze softened slightly.
That morning at Serena’s house, he had promised Amy that he would take her out today. He had meant every word of it.
This wasn’t just about spending time with his daughter. It was also an excuse to see Serena.
Standing up, he grabbed his suit jacket, slipping it on with practiced ease.
“I’m leaving for the day,” he informed Jefferson, his voice clipped. “Make sure everything stays in order.”
Jefferson simply nodded. “Understood, sir.”
Without another word, Ryan strode out of his office, his footsteps firm and purposeful.
He got into his car and drove toward Rocky’s Design, the familiar route giving him time to collect his thoughts.
By the time he arrived, the moment his sleek black car pulled into the parking lot, the buzz started.
Employees whispered as they watched him step out, their eyes widening in curiosity and speculation. Ryan Winters was here. In their company.
Was he here because of the scandal?
Was he here to see their boss after the other man left?
The questions floated in the air, unspoken yet thick with meaning.
But Ryan ignored them all. He was used to attention, used to the weight of people’s stares. It meant nothing to him.
His steps were measured as he walked into the building and headed straight for the elevator.
The doors slid open, and he stepped inside, pressing the button to Serena’s floor. As the elevator ascended, he felt the familiar anticipation settle in his chest.
The doors opened to a quiet hallway, and he strode toward her office.
Inside, Serena and Amy were sitting at the small table in the office, eating lunch together. Steve had bought it for them before leaving, and Amy was happily munching on her food, swinging her legs under the chair as she watched something on her tablet.
The moment Amy saw Ryan, her entire face lit up.
“Daddy!” she squealed, jumping from her chair and racing toward him.
Ryan’s lips tugged into a small smile as he bent down slightly, catching her as she flung herself into his arms.
“You came!” Amy beamed up at him. “I thought maybe you forgot.”
“Of course not,” Ryan assured her, brushing a strand of hair from her face. “I promised, didn’t I?”
Amy nodded eagerly. “Are we going now?”
Ryan chuckled. “If your mom lets you.”
Amy turned to Serena, who had remained seated, her expression unreadable. Unlike her daughter, Serena didn’t rush to greet him. She merely placed her fork down, her gaze assessing.
“Hi,” Ryan said after a moment, his voice soft.
Serena exhaled. “What are you doing here, Ryan?”
He held her gaze. “I came to see you and Amy.”
She arched her brow. “Is that all?”
Ryan sighed, running a hand through his hair. He didn’t want to argue, not now. “I assume you’ve seen the interview?” he asked instead.
Serena’s expression hardened. “Of course I have. The entire internet has.”
Ryan clenched his jaw. “I had it taken down.”
Serena blinked. “What?”
“I had Jefferson remove every trace of it from all media outlets,” he repeated firmly.
She stared at him, as if trying to decipher his intentions.
Before she could respond, the office door burst open, and Emma stepped inside, her face glowing with excitement.
“It’s gone!” she announced breathlessly. “The interview, the articles—everything! They’ve all disappeared!”
Serena turned to her, her grip on the table tightening. “You’re sure?”
“Yes,” Emma nodded. “I double-checked. No site has it anymore.”
Serena finally looked back at Ryan, her expression unreadable.
He could see the flicker of something in her eyes—relief, maybe? Gratitude? But just as quickly, she masked it.
“Thank you,” she said simply.
Ryan nodded. He hadn’t done it for thanks, but hearing it still meant something.
He cleared his throat. “Can I take Amy out now?”
Serena hesitated, glancing at her daughter, who was practically bouncing on her toes in excitement.
“Please, Mommy?” Amy begged.
Serena sighed. “Fine,” she finally said.
“But—” she turned back to Ryan, her voice sharp—“she returned back to me in one piece. No excuses.”
Ryan smirked slightly. “You have my word.”
Amy cheered, grabbing Ryan’s hand as they headed toward the door.
As they left, Amy turned back, waving at her mother. “Bye, Mommy!”
Serena watched them go, her chest tight with emotions she didn’t quite understand.
She wasn’t sure what to make of Ryan’s actions.
But one thing was clear—he is doing all of this for his own selfish reasons.
