Rejected By My Mate; Claimed By Lycan Quadruplets Chapter 99

Alpha Enzo's POV

I was in the study, sitting behind the large oak desk with Ash leaning casually against one of the shelves, thumbing through a thick book as if he wasn’t even paying attention. He always did that when he wanted me to think he was relaxed. But I knew him well enough—Ash never relaxed, not completely. His ears twitched at every sound, his eyes flickered across the room every now and then. He noticed more than most.

I rubbed my temples, the faintest throbbing in my head from hours of pouring over reports. The packs had been restless lately, too many tensions boiling under the surface, too many fragile egos clashing. I was already irritated when the sudden voice of Kael crashed into my mind through the link.

“Enzo! It’s Lisa—she’s been attacked. Irene and some other Lunas. They ganged up on her in the hall, accusations flying, and one of them smashed a bottle over her head.”

My whole body went still. For a second I wasn’t even breathing. My fingers tightened around the edge of the desk until the wood cracked. Ash’s eyes immediately snapped to me, his casual mask dropping.

“She’s in the infirmary now. I’ve handled the ones involved—they’re in holding cells. But Enzo, you need to know Irene’s behind this. Lisa could have been killed if I hadn’t gotten there in time.”

The rage that surged inside me was instant, violent, uncontrollable. I shoved the chair back so hard it toppled. The sound echoed in the study, and Ash straightened fully, closing the book with a snap.

“What happened?” His voice was sharp, low, like he already knew it wasn’t good.

I didn’t waste time answering aloud. I let him hear it the same way I did—from Kael’s frantic thoughts spilling through the link. Ash stiffened, jaw tightening, the corner of his mouth twitching as if he wanted to bare his teeth.

“Those arrogant bastards,” he muttered, already pushing off the shelf. “Where’s Lisa now?”

“Infirmary,” I growled, storming toward the door.

We didn’t need to say more. We both knew we were going there first. My wolf paced furiously inside me, snarling, clawing at the edges of my skin, demanding blood, demanding retribution. Lisa. My Lisa. The thought of her being cornered, struck, humiliated like that—it was enough to send me into a blind rage.

The corridors blurred as we moved. Guards stiffened, stepping out of the way as we passed, bowing slightly but not daring to meet my eyes. They could probably feel the fury radiating off me. Every step felt too slow, every heartbeat a hammer in my chest.

When we finally pushed into the infirmary, the sight that greeted me nearly snapped the last bit of control I had.

Lisa sat on one of the beds, a nurse dabbing at the cut on her head. Her hair was damp with blood, strands sticking to her temple. She looked pale, small, fragile in a way that tore at my chest. Kael and Atlas stood on either side of her like walls, their faces grim.

Her eyes lifted as soon as I entered. “Alpha Enzo…”

I crossed the room in a heartbeat, ignoring the nurse, ignoring everything but her. I crouched in front of her, cupping her face in my hands, careful not to hurt her. “What the hell happened?” My voice was shaking with fury, but softer when I looked at her wound.

“I’m fine,” she said quickly, though I could see the way her lips trembled. “It looks worse than it is.”

“Fine?” I snapped, pulling back just enough to meet her eyes. “Someone smashed a bottle over your head, Lisa. That’s not fine.”

She bit her lip, glancing briefly at the others before looking back at me. “It was Irene. She said… she said I was having an affair with Bryan. She accused me of disrespecting her marriage, of trying to seduce him. The other Lunas believed her. They cornered me. I tried to explain, but they didn’t listen. They just—”

Her voice cracked, and I felt a sharp stab in my chest. She tried to sound strong, but I could hear the pain behind it.

“That bitch,” Ash muttered from behind me, his tone dripping venom.

I turned my head, glaring at him, though it wasn’t really at him. “Stay here,” I ordered. “Kael, Atlas—you don’t leave Lisa’s side until I say otherwise.”

They both nodded immediately, understanding.

I stood, my body trembling with the effort it took to keep myself from storming out that very second. I pressed a quick kiss to Lisa’s forehead. “You’re safe now. I’ll handle this.”

Her hand caught mine briefly. “Don’t—don’t make it worse.”

I forced a smile that didn’t reach my eyes. “It’s already worse. I just need to make it right.”

I turned sharply, jerking my head at Ash. “With me.”

The second we stepped into the hallway, the mask I had tried to hold cracked completely. My aura flared, heavy, suffocating, making the guards shift uncomfortably where they stood. Ash didn’t even flinch. He walked beside me, silent, his own energy simmering darkly.

We reached the holding cells in minutes. The guards opened the heavy doors for us, and the instant we stepped inside, the noise hit—Alphas and Lunas shouting, complaining, their voices overlapping in a chaotic mess.

“Enzo!” one barked. “Your Gamma has overstepped! He attacked us like common criminals—”

Another cut him off. “This is outrageous! To be thrown into cells like rogues? Do you understand the insult—”

Their arrogance filled the air, choking, pathetic. My patience snapped.

“Silence.” My voice cracked like a whip. The room stilled, the noise cutting off abruptly. Every eye turned toward me.

I walked further in, Ash at my side, my gaze sweeping over them. Irene was among them, head held high despite the situation, lips curved in a smug little smile that made my wolf want to lunge.

“You want to complain about insult?” I said, my voice cold, calm, deadly. “Let’s talk about insult. My Mate—” I spat the word, every syllable heavy with possessiveness, “—was attacked. Humiliated. Injured. By the very people who were supposed to be our allies.”

Murmurs rippled, some shifting uncomfortably, others stubbornly silent.

“I don’t care about your excuses. I don’t care about your fragile egos. What I care about is that in *my pack*, you laid hands on someone under my protection. That makes it my business. And here, no one is above another. Do you understand?”

One of the older Alphas sneered, crossing his arms. “We only acted on what we believed was disrespect. If your woman cannot—”

“Choose your next words carefully,” Ash warned sharply, his eyes flashing dangerously.

The Alpha smirked, clearly thinking he had backing. “If your woman cannot control herself, then perhaps—”

The growl that ripped from me silenced the entire room. My voice boomed, laced with the raw power of my Alpha command, but sharper, darker—tainted with the Lycan edge that lived in my bloodline. It wasn’t just sound; it was force. It crashed over them like a wave, heavy, suffocating, undeniable.

They staggered back, some clutching their chests as if the weight pressed down on them physically. Their knees buckled, spines curved, heads bowed without choice. Even Irene’s smug mask cracked as her body shook, forced down by the strength of my dominance.

“You dare speak of her like that?” My tone shook the walls. “You dare lay a finger on her? You think your titles, your positions, make you untouchable? In my pack, you are nothing if you cannot show respect.”

Their bodies trembled. Some whimpered.

I took a step closer, letting my aura tighten like a vice. “From this moment forward, every transaction, every alliance, every deal I’ve made with your packs is canceled. If this is how you treat your women, your pack members, then I want no part of it. You can take your arrogance and choke on it.”

A wave of panic rippled through them. One Alpha stammered, “Enzo, wait—you can’t—this will destroy—”

“I can,” I cut him off. “And I just did.”

I turned to the guards. “Release them. If they want to stay, they’ll remember their place. If they want to leave, the gates are open. Either way, they’ll never again think they can come into my territory and disrespect me, my pack members, or my mate.”

The guards immediately moved, unlocking the cells. The Alphas and Lunas stumbled out, some glaring, some fearful, most silent.

I didn’t wait to see what they chose. I turned sharply, walking out with Ash at my side, the fury still burning hot in my chest.
