Rejected By My Mate; Claimed By Lycan Quadruplets Chapter 299
In her luxurious penthouse, Kate sat in front of an enormous mirror, admiring the different dresses Rolly had laid out for her.
The room was filled with the scent of expensive perfume and the soft hum of anticipation.
Rolly, her ever-dramatic best friend, folded her arms and gave Kate a critical once-over.
“Okay, babe, this is not just a regular ball. This is your moment. We need you looking like a goddess that makes every woman jealous and every man drool.”
Kate smirked, running a perfectly manicured finger over the delicate lace of one of the dresses.
“Obviously. I don’t do the basics. You of all people should know that I love every bit of publicity stunts and tonight, I’m ready to give to the media and the public all they need to know tonight. By tomorrow, the headlines will be just about me!” Kate uttered, grinning from ear to ear.
Rolly grinned, jumping around like a toddler given cakes. “That’s my girl. I sure know what you can do Kate and I trust you are going to give them hot hot tonight. I can’t wait to see you making waves on the internet by tomorrow morning.”
She turned to the designer standing by with an expectant expression.
“Alright, show us the magic. Make my best friend look more like a fallen angel.”
The designer, a stylish woman in her early forties named Marissa, stepped forward.
“We’ve prepared three custom designs, each meant to highlight your best features and make you look more sophisticated.”
Kate leaned forward, intrigued. “Oh really? Let’s see them. I just can’t wait anymore.”
Marissa unveiled the first dress—a shimmering gold gown with an asymmetrical neckline and a daring thigh-high slit.
Rolly let out an exaggerated gasp.
“Kate, this screams Hollywood starlet at a royal gala.”
Kate ran her fingers over the fabric, intrigued but not entirely convinced. “Hmm. Stunning, but maybe too expected. Let’s see something else other than this.”
Marissa nodded, quickly unzipping the next garment bag.
The second dress was a crimson velvet masterpiece, figure-hugging with intricate crystal embellishments that sparkled with every movement.
Rolly literally fanned herself with her hand. “Oh, babe. This. Is. Power.”
Kate pursed her lips. “It’s sexy, but I feel like it doesn’t scream main event. I want even my dress to make waves on the internet by tomorrow.”
Marissa smiled knowingly and unzipped the final dress.
The moment Kate laid eyes on it, she knew that was the perfect dress for the ball.
It was a jet-black silk gown, with a plunging neckline, a backless cut that draped elegantly, and feathered sleeves that added just the right amount of drama.
It was sultry, sophisticated, and unforgettable.
Rolly grabbed Kate’s arm. “You’re definitely wearing this. No further discussions. We are done here!”
Kate smirked. “I wasn’t going to argue anyway.”
Marissa beamed. “I thought so. Now, let’s get you styled.”
“It’s time for your makeup and hair perfection “ Rolly beamed as she just couldn’t wait to see how stunning Kate would look.
As soon as Kate slipped into the dress, her styling team got to work.
“Alright, darling,” the makeup artist, Tasha, said, pulling out a palette. “Are we going for classic elegance or ‘I’m too hot to be touched’?”
Kate chuckled. “Somewhere in between. Bold, but classy.”
Tasha nodded. “Perfect. Let’s bring out those feline eyes and sharp cheekbones.”
She started with a flawless matte base, sculpting Kate’s cheekbones with expert contouring.
Her eyes were painted in smoky black and deep gold, making them sultry and captivating.
“For the lips…” Tasha trailed off, reaching for a deep red lipstick. She swiped it on, and Rolly whistled slowly.
“Damn, girl,” Rolly said, examining Kate. “One look at you and every man in that ballroom is going to wish they had you.”
Kate smirked. “Well, too bad for them. I’m already taken. Officially.”
Rolly arched her brow. “Are you, though?”
Kate just grinned mischievously.
Meanwhile, the hairstylist, Marco, was curling the ends of her long brunette locks into soft waves.
Then, with a delicate touch, he pulled them into a loose but elegant updo, letting a few strands frame her face.
“A masterpiece,” Marco declared, stepping back.
Kate stood up and admired herself in the mirror.
The combination of the daring gown, flawless makeup, and sophisticated hair made her irresistible.
“Perfection,” she murmured.
Rolly clapped her hands excitedly. “Ryan is going to die when he sees you.”
Kate turned, smirking. “That’s the plan. The Arrival and then, the Publicity Stunt.”
At precisely 7:30 PM, Ryan’s car pulled up outside Kate’s building.
The moment he stepped out, he was greeted by doormen and security.
He adjusted the cuffs of his expensive suit, then pulled out his phone.
“I’m outside,” he texted Kate.
A few moments later, the door swung open, and Kate stepped out like a queen descending from her throne.
Ryan’s eyes widened slightly, though he quickly masked his reaction. She looked absolutely stunning.
Kate noticed his brief moment of awe, and her smirk widened. “Like what you see?”
Ryan cleared his throat and opened the car door for her. “You look beautiful.”
Kate slid into the car gracefully, feeling completely in control.
As the car pulled up to the ball venue, the flashing lights of the paparazzi were already going wild.
The moment Ryan stepped out and extended a hand to help Kate, the cameras went crazy.
“Mr. Winter! Over here!”
“Kate! You look incredible! Is this a hint at wedding bells?”
Kate flashed a dazzling smile as they walked down the carpet.
Then, the question that she had been waiting for was finally asked.
“When are you making it official?”
Ryan kept his mouth shut, fully intending to ignore it.
But Kate? Oh, she was waiting for this moment.
She turned directly to the reporter, beaming.
“The plans for our engagement are already in place. We’ll be announcing it very soon.”
A wave of excitement rippled through the crowd as reporters exploded with more questions.
Ryan’s jaw clenched, his fists tightening.
But he knew better than to lose his temper in public.
Instead, he forced a tight smile, his teeth practically grinding together.
Kate, on the other hand, felt like she was on top of the world.
This was the headline she wanted.
Finally, they made their way inside, and the moment they were away from prying eyes, Ryan turned to her, voice low and laced with fury.
“What the hell was that?” he hissed.
Kate chuckled, sipping from a champagne flute. “What was what?”
“You know exactly what I’m talking about,” Ryan snapped.
“You don’t just go running your mouth to the media.”
Kate gave him a mock-innocent look.
“Oh, please. It’s not like they weren’t already assuming it. I just confirmed their hopes.”
Ryan’s eyes darkened. “You’re unbelievable.”
Kate simply laughed, knowing that whatever anger Ryan felt was irrelevant.
The damage was already done, and she had secured her narrative.
Seeing that arguing was pointless, Ryan stormed away, heading toward a group of his business associates.
Kate, on the other hand, turned and slowly scanned the room.
Then, her eyes landed on Serena, seated elegantly, sipping her wine.
A smirk curled Kate’s lips.
“Well, well, well,” she murmured to herself. “This just got even more interesting.”
With confident strides, she made her way toward Serena, fully intending to stir some trouble.
“Well, well, well. Look who we have here.”
