Rejected By My Mate; Claimed By Lycan Quadruplets Chapter 379

The atmosphere in the boardroom was thick with tension, an almost suffocating heaviness hanging over everyone as they took their seats.

Serena sat at the head of the table, her face impassive, though her heart pounded in her chest.

Today was the day. Today, she would either walk out of this room as the CEO of Rocky’s Designs, or she would be forced out of the very company she had built from the ground up.

She had fought tooth and nail for this moment.

She had spent the past two days working behind the scenes, meeting with board members, reminding them of what she had done for this company, countering every argument that had been used against her.

She had no way of knowing if it had been enough. But she did know one thing—she wasn’t going down without a fight.

The chairman cleared his throat, his voice breaking the silence.

“Ladies and gentlemen, we are here today to cast our votes regarding the future leadership of Rocky’s Designs.”

“ As you are all aware, concerns have been raised about Ms. Winthrop’s leadership, particularly regarding public perception and the recent media scandals.”

“After much deliberation, we have come to this moment—the vote will determine whether Ms. Winthrop remains in her position or if new leadership is required.”

Serena’s fingers tightened slightly around the armrest of her chair, but she forced her expression to remain neutral.

She could feel the weight of their eyes on her, some filled with skepticism, others with doubt, and a few with outright hostility.

Richard, one of the senior board members who had been pushing for her removal, leaned forward with a smug expression.

“Before we begin, I would just like to reiterate that this vote is not personal. We all respect what Serena has built, but emotions cannot cloud business decisions. Rocky’s Designs is more than just one person, and if we are to ensure its continued success, we must be willing to make difficult choices.”

Serena arched a brow but didn’t respond. She wasn’t about to waste her breath arguing with a man whose mind was already made up.

The chairman nodded. “Thank you, Richard. With that said, we will proceed with the voting process.”

One by one, each board member was handed a small ballot, each containing two options:

1. Keep Serena Winthrop as CEO

2. Remove Serena Winthrop as CEO

Serena kept her face calm, but inside, her stomach was twisting into knots.

She watched as each person cast their vote, slipping the folded piece of paper into the locked ballot box in the center of the table.

The silence in the room was deafening, only broken by the occasional rustle of paper.

She glanced at Richard, who looked far too pleased with himself. Daniel, another board member who had been swayed against her, sat beside him with an equally smug look. They thought they had won.

Serena exhaled slowly.

Finally, the last vote was cast.

The chairman gestured for his assistant to begin counting.

The room remained silent, each second stretching painfully long as the votes were carefully tallied. Serena kept her posture poised, but she could feel her pulse hammering in her ears.

The assistant leaned down and whispered the final count to the chairman.

He straightened his back, adjusted his glasses, and cleared his throat. “The results are in.”

Serena’s fingers curled into her lap, bracing herself.

“The vote stands at eleven to seven in favor of keeping Serena Winthrop as CEO.”

For a moment, the room remained frozen in stunned silence.

Then Serena exhaled, a slow smirk playing at the corners of her lips.

She had won.

A mixture of reactions erupted across the table—some sighs of relief, a few quiet nods, and, of course, the unmistakable looks of fury on Richard and Daniel’s faces.

Richard shot up from his seat, his face dark with frustration. “This is a mistake.”

Serena finally leaned forward, resting her elbows on the table as she met his glare head-on. “A mistake? Or just not the result you wanted?”

Richard gritted his teeth. “The company needs stability. You have single-handedly turned Rocky’s Designs into a soap opera with your scandals and reckless decisions.”

Serena chuckled. “That’s funny, considering that despite all of that, the company is still thriving. Profits have remained steady, and just last week, I closed a deal that will expand our reach into the European market. So tell me, Richard, is this really about my leadership? Or is it about control?”

Daniel stood up beside Richard, his expression cold. “This isn’t over.”

Serena tilted her head slightly. “Oh, I’m sure it isn’t. But for today? I won.”

Richard scoffed, shoving his chair back as he turned toward the door. Daniel followed, but not before shooting her one last look of contempt.

Serena watched them leave before finally turning back to the rest of the board.

“I appreciate those of you who voted based on facts and not rumors. Rocky’s design is stronger than ever, and I will make sure it stays that way.”

The chairman gave her a small nod. “The decision is final. Serena Winthrop will remain as CEO. This meeting is adjourned.”

As the rest of the board members stood, Emma burst into the room, her eyes scanning Serena for any sign of defeat.

Serena smirked. “I’m still here.”

Emma let out a dramatic sigh of relief. “Thank God. I swear, if they had voted you out, I was ready to knock over that stupid ballot box.”

Serena laughed softly, finally allowing some of the tension to leave her body. “You were worried?”

Emma snorted. “Uh, yeah? You’re the only reason this company hasn’t turned into a sinking ship. Plus, who else is going to tolerate my sarcasm?”

Serena shook her head, standing up and gathering her things. “We need to stay sharp. Richard and his little group won’t let this go. We need to be prepared for whatever they try next.”

Emma’s expression turned serious. “You think they’ll try something else?”

Serena exhaled. “I know they will. And if Thomas Winters really is behind all of this, then this was just the first battle.”

Emma folded her arms. “So what’s the plan?”

Serena’s eyes darkened with determination. “We stay ahead. We find out exactly what they’re planning. And this time, we strike first.”

Emma smirked. “I like the sound of that.”

Serena straightened her posture, adjusting her blazer. “Good. Because I don’t intend to ever be in this position again.”

As she walked out of the boardroom, she knew one thing for certain—this wasn’t just about keeping her position anymore.

This was about making sure no one ever dared to challenge her again.

“It’s enough!”
