Rejected By My Mate; Claimed By Lycan Quadruplets Chapter 132

Lisa's POV

I was lying flat on my bed, staring up at the ceiling, tracing invisible shapes with my eyes. My thoughts had been restless all day, refusing to let me have even a moment of peace. Every time I thought I’d managed to calm down, something else would creep into my head. Memories. Regrets. Questions.

That was when I heard a knock on the door.

“Lisa,” Calla’s voice carried through, soft but carrying a note of urgency.

I frowned and sat up. “Yes?”

“You have a visitor,” she said.

I blinked, sure I’d misheard her. “What?”

“A visitor,” she repeated.

I stared at the door like maybe she was joking. A visitor? For me? That didn’t make any sense. I had no family here, no one who would bother to check up on me. For months I had lived like a shadow, tucked away in this house, only coming into contact with people when absolutely necessary.

“Are you sure?” I asked, my voice smaller than I intended.

Calla opened the door slightly and peeked her head in. “Yes, Lisa. She’s waiting.”

“She?” I asked, my pulse quickening for reasons I couldn’t explain.

Calla only gave me a small smile, then gestured for me to follow. My legs felt stiff as I swung them over the bed and stood. Who could possibly…

When I reached the hallway, my heart nearly stopped. Standing there, waiting, was a face I hadn’t seen in what felt like forever.

“Fionna?” I gasped.

Her head snapped up, and her eyes immediately filled with tears. “Lisa!”

I don’t remember moving, but suddenly we were crashing into each other, arms wrapping tightly as if neither of us ever wanted to let go. I buried my face into her shoulder, inhaling the familiar scent that had once been my comfort.

“Oh my God, you’re here,” I whispered against her hair. “I thought— I didn’t think I’d ever see you again.”

Her grip on me was fierce. “Me too. I’ve missed you so much, Lisa.”

I pulled back just enough to look at her face. Her cheeks were damp, her lips trembling as she tried to smile. She looked the same, yet different. There was something in her eyes—a heaviness that hadn’t been there before.

“Come,” I said quickly, taking her hand. “Let’s go outside. We need to talk.”

We walked hand in hand to the garden. The air was cool, carrying the faint fragrance of blooming roses. We found a bench under the shade of a tree, and once we sat, I couldn’t stop staring at her.

“You look… tired,” I said carefully.

She gave me a shaky laugh. “That’s one way to put it.”

“What happened? How did you even find me?”

Fionna exhaled slowly, then placed a hand on her belly. My eyes widened when I noticed it. Not too big, but definitely noticeable.

“Lisa…” she started softly, “I’m pregnant.”

For a moment, my mind went blank. Then it hit me, and my mouth dropped open. “Pregnant?”

She nodded. “Yes.”

A hundred emotions surged through me at once. Shock, confusion, excitement, fear. But the strongest one was joy. I reached for her hands, squeezing them. “Fionna, that’s—oh my God, that’s incredible. You’re going to be a mother.”

Her lips curved, but it didn’t reach her eyes. “Yeah. I guess.”

The way she said it made my heart sink. “Wait. You’re not happy?”

Her eyes filled with tears again. She looked away, her voice breaking. “It’s Ethan’s. Of course it is. But… I’m not ready. I’m not sure I even want this.”

I sat stunned for a second. “What do you mean you don’t want this? Fionna, it’s Ethan’s child.”

She nodded quickly. “I know. I know that. But Lisa, everything feels so… heavy. I feel trapped. I can’t breathe. When I found out, the first thought in my head was that I can’t do this. I even thought about—” Her voice cracked. She lowered her head and whispered, “I thought about aborting.”

I gasped softly. “Oh, Fionna…”

She lifted her tear-filled eyes to me. “But Ethan doesn’t want that. He said no. He wants the baby. He’s excited. He’s already talking about names. And I—” Her face twisted. “I just feel like screaming.”

My chest tightened painfully. I reached over and cupped her face, wiping her tears with my thumb. “You’re scared. That’s normal. But please don’t ever think you’re alone in this. You have Ethan, and you have me. We’ll figure this out together, okay?”

She broke down then, sobbing into my shoulder. I held her tight, rocking her gently the way she once did for me when my world was falling apart.

“I don’t want to be a bad mother,” she whispered against me. “I don’t even know if I can love a baby right now. What if—what if I ruin everything?”

“You won’t,” I said firmly, stroking her hair. “You’re one of the kindest people I’ve ever known, Fionna. If anyone can do this, it’s you. And you’ll grow into it. Love doesn’t always come instantly. Sometimes it builds. That doesn’t make you wrong. It makes you human.”

She pulled back slowly, her face blotchy and red, but her eyes searching mine desperately. “You really think so?”

“I know so,” I said. “And you’re not alone. You’ll never be alone. Not as long as I’m here.”

She let out a shaky breath, finally managing a small, genuine smile. “God, I’ve missed you so much.”

I squeezed her hands again. “Me too.”

We stayed in the garden for a long while, talking about everything and nothing, laughing sometimes, crying others. For a moment, it felt like the world outside had disappeared and we were just two best friends again, picking up where we left off.

Eventually, Fionna stood, brushing her dress lightly. “I should go. Ethan’s waiting.”

I nodded, reluctant to let her leave but understanding. “Promise me you’ll visit again soon.”

She hugged me once more, tight and lingering. “I promise.”

When she left, I stood there in the garden for a long while, staring at the flowers but seeing nothing. My chest felt both heavy and light at once. Heavy with worry for her, but light because she had come to me.

Eventually, I dragged myself back inside. My feet carried me down the hallway until I stopped in front of Enzo’s door. I hesitated only a moment before knocking.

“Come in,” his voice called from inside.

I pushed the door open. He was sitting on the couch, a book in his hands, but his eyes lifted immediately when he saw me. “Lisa.”

I smiled faintly and stepped in, closing the door behind me. “I had a visitor today.”

His brow arched. “A visitor?”

“Yes.” I sat beside him, tucking my legs under me. “It was Fionna. My best friend.”

His expression softened with curiosity. “Oh? And how was it?”

I let out a little laugh. “Overwhelming. She’s pregnant.”

“Pregnant?” His voice carried genuine surprise.

“Yes. With Ethan’s child. But she’s scared. She even thought about ending it, but Ethan didn’t agree.” My voice faltered as I remembered her tears. “She’s struggling, Enzo. And I didn’t know what to say except to remind her she’s not alone.”

He studied me quietly for a moment, his gaze intense. Then he leaned closer, his hand brushing mine. “You did the right thing. Sometimes just being there is enough.”

I nodded slowly, feeling warmth spread through me at his words. “I hope so.”

He squeezed my hand gently, then said, “I’ll come to your room later. We’ll talk more then.”

Something about the way he said it made my heart flutter unexpectedly. I nodded, suddenly finding it hard to breathe properly. “Okay.”
