Rejected By My Mate; Claimed By Lycan Quadruplets Chapter 286
Bianca Tyler sat at the kitchen island, swirling a glass of freshly poured orange juice in her hand, her eyes filled with annoyance.
She had been seething ever since she found out that Serena had gone out with Nathan.
The mere thought of it made her stomach churn.
Across from her, Maddie, her best friend, leaned against the counter, watching Bianca’s expression darken.
Maddie had known Bianca for years—long enough to know when she was plotting something.
And judging by the way Bianca’s jaw was clenched, she was furious.
“So, what did your investigator say?” Maddie asked, taking a sip of her coffee.
Bianca exhaled sharply and grabbed her phone, scrolling through her messages.
“He sent me pictures, Maddie. Pictures. Of Nathan and Serena together.”
She turned the phone screen toward her friend, showing her an image of Nathan and Serena at an event, their heads slightly inclined toward each other.
“Look at them. Doesn’t it look like they’re on a date?”
Maddie frowned as she studied the image.
“Ugh. That’s disgusting.” She set down her cup and crossed her arms.
“I mean, how could Nathan even look at someone like her when he has you? That’s what I don’t understand.”
Bianca’s grip tightened around the phone.
“I don’t understand either. She’s nothing compared to me. Nothing. Yet he keeps entertaining her. I bet she’s throwing herself at him, trying to steal him away.”
Maddie nodded in agreement.
“Well, we can’t let that happen. We need to do something about Serena before she ruins your relationship. I don’t want you losing Nathan to some—” she paused, curling her lip in disgust, “—some furniture designer.”
Bianca smirked slightly at Maddie’s choice of words. “You’re right. I can’t let this continue.” She tapped her manicured nails against the counter.
“But I’ve already tried befriending her. I even made her think I was on her side. What else am I supposed to do?”
Maddie’s lips curled into a sly smile as she leaned closer.
“Oh, don’t worry. I have the perfect plan.”
Bianca raised a brow. “Do you, right now?”
Maddie grinned and motioned for Bianca to lean in.
Then, in a hushed voice, she whispered her plan into Bianca’s ear.
Bianca’s eyes widened slightly before a slow, devious smile spread across her lips.
She clapped her hands together in delight.
“Maddie, you are absolutely brilliant! Why didn’t I think of this before?”
Maddie shrugged smugly. “Because I’m always the master planner.”
Bianca chuckled, her anger momentarily replaced by excitement. “You really are.”
Maddie tapped the counter. “Well, what are you waiting for? Call Serena. Let’s get this started.”
At that moment, Serena had just finished a long and exhausting board meeting.
She sighed as she stepped out of the conference room, rubbing her temples.
She still had a pile of work waiting for her, but as she walked toward her office, her phone rang.
She glanced at the screen. Bianca Tyler.
Serena hesitated for a brief second before answering. “Hello?”
“Serena!” Bianca’s voice was warm and friendly, as always. “Hey, how are you doing?”
Serena adjusted her grip on her phone. “I’m good, Bianca. How about you?”
“Oh, I’ve been feeling so hot lately,” Bianca complained dramatically.
“The sun is brutal today. I swear, I feel like I’m melting.”
Serena chuckled lightly. “Yeah, the weather has been pretty warm.”
“Exactly!” Bianca sighed heavily.
“You know, I was just thinking… what better way to cool off than a nice, relaxing swim?”
Serena raised an eyebrow, sensing where this was going.
“I was going to go alone,” Bianca continued, “but then I thought… wouldn’t it be so much more fun if you joined me? We could sip some drinks, chat, and just unwind.”
Serena hesitated. “I don’t know, Bianca. I still have work to do.”
“Oh, come on,” Bianca pleaded sweetly.
“You’ve been working so hard. You deserve a break! And besides, you don’t have any big deadlines today, right?”
Serena bit her lip. That was true. She could afford a short break.
“And don’t worry,” Bianca added quickly, sensing Serena’s hesitation.
“I know you’re not the best swimmer. You can use a floater and just stay in the shallow area. No pressure at all.”
Serena sighed. “Alright, fine. I’ll come.”
“Yay!” Bianca squealed. “Okay, meet me at The Grand Hotel in an hour. I already booked us a private pool.”
Serena nodded to herself. “Okay, I’ll see you there.”
After ending the call, she quickly wrapped up a few remaining discussions with her assistant Emma before heading out.
By the time Serena arrived at The Grand Hotel, Bianca was already waiting by the pool in a stylish red swimsuit, her long hair perfectly styled.
Beside her stood Maddie, whom she introduced as someone she had just recently met at the mall.
Serena gave Maddie a polite nod. “Nice to meet you.”
“You too!” Maddie beamed. “I’ve heard so much about you.”
Serena smiled slightly before turning to Bianca. “So, where do we start?”
Bianca grinned. “Let’s get in the water first!”
Serena hesitated slightly, glancing at the pool. “You’re sure this is safe?”
“Of course!” Bianca assured her. “You can stay at the shallow end. And if you get tired, there are floaters right there.”
Serena took a deep breath and nodded. “Alright.”
They stepped into the pool after Serena got changed into a black sexy swimsuit she had bought on her way there.
At first, it was nice.
The cool water was refreshing against the heat. They sipped wine, chatted, and laughed.
Other guests were also in the pool, enjoying themselves.
Bianca and Maddie played their roles perfectly—keeping Serena distracted, making her feel comfortable.
Then, Bianca suddenly gasped.
“Oh! I just remembered I left something at the bar. I’ll be right back.”
She climbed out of the pool and walked off.
A few minutes later, Maddie glanced at her wristwatch and let out a small, exaggerated sigh.
“Oh, shoot! I forgot to tell Bianca something. I’ll be back too, Serena.”
Serena nodded absentmindedly, sipping her wine.
And then…
It happened.
Without warning, Serena felt a sharp tug beneath the water.
Her eyes widened in shock.
What was that?!
Before she could react, she was yanked down.
She struggled, flailing her arms, but her body sank deeper and deeper into the pool.
Her lungs burned. Her chest tightened. She couldn’t breathe.
She didn’t know what had pulled her under, but she knew she was drowning.
She thrashed, kicking and reaching for the surface, but it felt like something was holding her down.
Her vision blurred. Her limbs grew weak.
And then…
Everything went black.
A man who had been swimming nearby had noticed the struggle.
Without hesitation, he dove underwater and grabbed Serena, pulling her to the surface.
“Hey! Someone help!” he shouted.
People rushed over. A small crowd gathered.
Bianca and Maddie, who had been watching from a distance, ran forward, feigning panic.
“Oh my God!” Bianca gasped, kneeling beside Serena’s unconscious body. “Serena! Wake up!”
“Somebody call an ambulance!” someone yelled.
Emergency services were called, and minutes later, Serena was being taken to the hospital.
Bianca climbed into the ambulance with her, holding her hand, putting on the perfect act of a concerned friend.
But deep inside…
She was smiling.
