Third person POV

The chamber thundered with the clash of two forces that were never meant to exist together. Shadows and storms, darkness and light, collided until the very foundations of the cavern cracked beneath the pressure.

Lisa stood at the heart of it all, her body trembling yet unyielding, every inch of her glowing with the power coursing through her veins. Her children’s essence still clung to her, woven into the armor of her aura, giving her strength she did not even know she had. Her breath came in ragged gasps, but her eyes—those blazing storms—never left Malrik.

The ancient wolf sneered, his skin stretched thin with the grotesque power that consumed him. His form flickered between flesh and shadow, his hands claws of condensed darkness, his teeth bared in a grin that promised carnage.

“You’re a fool,” he hissed, his voice reverberating with otherworldly echoes. “Your parents begged for mercy as I took their power, and now you—child of weakness—dare to stand against me? I will not only end you, I will devour your children, your mates, and burn every pack to ash. You will die knowing you failed them.”

Lisa’s jaw clenched. The words seared into her chest, stirring the memories she had buried deep: her mother’s arms cradling her as a child, her father’s laughter filling their home, the warmth of family torn away in screams. Her body trembled not with fear, but with rage that had waited years for release.

“You killed them…” her voice cracked like lightning, shaking the ground beneath her. “You murdered them just to grow stronger. And you think I’ll let you walk this world after that?”

Her fists tightened, wind swirling violently around her, whipping into a cyclone that lifted stones into the air. “Today, Malrik, I avenge them. Today, you end.”

Malrik’s laughter echoed through the chamber, sharp and cruel. “Let us see if you have the strength to make those words truth.”

With a roar, he charged.

Lisa met him head-on.

The clash was blinding. Malrik’s claws slashed through the air, jagged with black fire, while Lisa’s winds solidified into blades of light. Sparks exploded with every strike, each collision shaking the walls until dust rained down from above.

He struck at her chest; she twisted, sending a torrent of air slicing into his side. Black ichor spilled, but the wound closed instantly, his body pulsing with stolen vitality.

She didn’t falter. She spun, her palm striking his chest, and a burst of force hurled him across the chamber. He slammed into the wall, cracking the stone, but surged forward again, faster, fiercer, darkness trailing him like wings.

Their battle became a storm.

Lisa’s body burned with exhaustion, but she pressed harder, summoning gusts so sharp they cut through shadow like steel. Malrik conjured spears of black magic, hurling them relentlessly, each one exploding against her defenses with bone-rattling force.

“Your power is borrowed!” he bellowed, his voice echoing through the cavern. “Without your brats, you’d be nothing!”

Lisa caught one of his spears mid-air, her aura flaring as it disintegrated in her grip. Her eyes narrowed. “Without them, I wouldn’t be alive. That’s the difference between us—you take from others, I’m lifted by them. And that’s why you’ll lose.”

Malrik howled in fury, his body unraveling into a storm of shadows. He appeared behind her in a blink, his claws plunging toward her spine.

But Lisa was ready.

She spun, winds condensing into a shield that caught the blow. The impact still drove her to her knees, pain shooting through her arms, but she didn’t give in. She snapped her hands outward, and the shield exploded, hurling him back with the force of a hurricane.

He crashed again, snarling, his body smoking where her winds had burned him. “You’ll regret this insolence!”

He raised both hands, the ritual circle at his feet flaring with renewed power. Shadows poured from the markings, writhing like serpents, coiling into monstrous forms. They lunged at Lisa, jaws gaping, claws raking.

Lisa’s heart pounded, but she didn’t retreat. She inhaled, drawing the air around her tight into her lungs, then released it in a scream that tore through the chamber. The winds erupted outward, shredding the shadow beasts to ribbons. The force carried through, slamming into Malrik himself, driving him back step after step.

Blood dripped from her lips, the effort tearing her apart, but she didn’t care. Her parents’ faces lingered in her mind, their voices echoing through her soul.

“For them,” she whispered. “For my children. For everything you tried to destroy.”

She surged forward.

Malrik barely had time to react. Her fist, wrapped in a cyclone of energy, smashed into his jaw, snapping his head to the side. He staggered, and she didn’t let up. She pummeled him with blow after blow, every strike carrying the weight of her fury, every hit fueled by years of grief.

“You killed my father!” she screamed, striking his chest with a force that shattered his ribs.

“You killed my mother!” Another strike, her winds tearing open his side.

“You tried to kill ME!” Her palm slammed against his face, the impact echoing like thunder.

Malrik reeled, his form flickering, shadows peeling from him like smoke. For the first time, his confidence faltered, his sneer slipping into something closer to fear.

“You cannot—kill me,” he snarled, though his voice cracked. “I am eternal—”

Lisa’s aura flared, brighter than ever, her eyes blazing. “Not anymore.”

With a roar, she thrust both hands forward.

The winds condensed into a spear of pure energy, forged from her fury, her love, her pain, her very essence. She drove it straight into Malrik’s chest.

His scream tore through the cavern, unearthly and deafening. His body convulsed, the shadows unraveling violently, shrieking as they were torn apart. His form writhed, twisting, collapsing inward as the spear pinned him to the ground.

“No!” he bellowed, thrashing, black ichor spraying. “I am power! I am forever!”

Lisa pressed harder, her body trembling, her strength burning away. “You are nothing but a parasite. And this… is for my parents!”

With one final cry, she shoved the spear deeper. It pierced through him entirely, the light exploding outward in a shockwave that ripped through the chamber.

Malrik’s scream turned into a howl of despair before cutting off abruptly. His body shattered, breaking apart into fragments of shadow that dissolved into the air. The ritual circle burned out, the darkness vanishing as though it had never been.

Silence fell.

Lisa collapsed to her knees, her body convulsing, blood pouring from her mouth. Every nerve screamed with pain, her vision swimming. Her strength was gone, her aura fading, but she had done it.

Malrik was dead.

Her body slumped to the ground, the stone cold against her cheek. She barely heard the frantic footsteps rushing toward her, barely felt the warmth of hands lifting her, the cries of voices breaking with fear.

“Lisa!” Enzo’s roar tore through the silence, raw and desperate. He cradled her in his arms, his massive frame trembling as if he were the one broken. His wolf eyes glowed with anguish, tears staining his bloodied face. “Stay with me—please, stay with me!”

Ash knelt beside them, pressing his hand against her wounds, his face pale with terror. “Don’t you dare leave us, Lisa. Don’t you dare.”

Atlas’s voice shook as he crouched nearby, his own body bruised and battered. “You did it. You killed him. Just hold on.”

Kael, still shielding the children, finally let them come forward. They stumbled toward her, their tiny faces streaked with tears.

“Mommy!” Elias cried, his little hands reaching for her. Lyra’s sobs broke into hiccups as she clung to Aria, and Kael’s son trembled, wide-eyed, trying to be brave.

Lisa’s lips twitched into the faintest smile as her gaze fluttered over them. Her children. Her mates. Her family.

“I… avenged them,” she whispered weakly, her voice barely audible. “Mom… Dad… it’s done…”

Her eyes closed, her body going limp as the storm around her finally stilled.
