Rejected By My Mate; Claimed By Lycan Quadruplets Chapter 378
Ryan left his father’s house feeling a mixture of frustration and unease. He had gone there hoping to get answers, maybe even a confession, but instead, Thomas had played his usual games—denying everything with that same smug arrogance that always made Ryan’s blood boil.
Still, his gut told him his father was involved.
And if Thomas really was behind the plot to remove Serena from her own company, then Ryan wasn’t just going to stand by and let it happen.
His grip tightened on the steering wheel as he drove toward Rocky’s Designs. He had to warn Serena.
Minutes later, Ryan pulled up in front of the sleek glass building. He stepped out, ignoring the way a few employees glanced at him curiously as he made his way to the private elevator leading to Serena’s office.
He wasn’t sure how she would react to him showing up unannounced, but that wasn’t his concern right now.
He knocked once before pushing the door open.
Serena was seated at her desk, reviewing some documents, but her eyes flickered with surprise when she saw him. She immediately sat up straighter, placing her pen down.
“Ryan?” she said, her tone wary. “What are you doing here?”
Ryan closed the door behind him and walked over, sliding his hands into his pockets. “I needed to talk to you.”
Serena leaned back, arms crossing. “About what?”
Ryan exhaled. “I think my father is involved in what’s happening.”
Serena’s eyes narrowed slightly. “What do you mean?”
Ryan pulled out the chair in front of her desk and sat down. “I had Jefferson reach out to some of your board members, trying to talk them out of this whole mess. One of them slipped up and told me that someone outside the company has been influencing the decision to remove you. And that someone… is my father.”
Serena’s face remained unreadable, but he could see the tension in her shoulders.
“He’s been pulling strings,” Ryan continued. “Convincing certain board members that you’re a liability. I confronted him about it, but of course, he denied everything. But Serena… I know him. He’s lying.”
Serena let out a slow breath, her fingers tapping against the desk. “Why would he want me out?”
Ryan shook his head. “I don’t know. But I wouldn’t put it past him to have a bigger plan in motion. My father doesn’t make moves like this unless he’s gaining something from it.”
Serena studied him carefully. “And you came here to tell me this because…?”
Ryan met her gaze. “Because I don’t want to see you lose. No matter what’s happened between us, I know how much this company means to you. And I know you built it from the ground up. You deserve to fight for it.”
Serena exhaled, looking away for a moment. “Did you speak to all of the board members?”
Ryan nodded. “I tried. Some of them are already too deep into whatever’s going on, but there are a few who are still undecided. If you make the right move before the vote, you might be able to sway them.”
Serena nodded slowly. “Alright. Thanks for letting me know.”
Ryan stood, sliding his hands back into his pockets. “Just… be careful, Serena. If my father really is involved, he won’t go down easily.”
Serena smirked slightly. “Neither will I.”
Ryan gave a small nod before turning toward the door.
“Ryan,” Serena called after him.
He paused, looking over his shoulder.
“Thanks,” she said quietly.
Ryan smirked slightly. “Don’t mention it.”
And with that, he walked out.
The moment the door shut, Serena leaned back in her chair, processing everything.
If Thomas Winters was really behind this, then she needed to move carefully. She couldn’t afford to trust anyone—not until she had real proof.
Her mind immediately went to Lucas.
He had appeared in her life almost too conveniently, always showing up at the right places, always crossing paths with her unexpectedly. She had ignored it before, chalking it up to coincidence. But now, with everything happening, she wasn’t so sure.
What if he wasn’t just some charming new employee?
What if he was planted?
She grabbed her phone and dialed Emma’s number.
Emma picked up almost immediately. “What’s up?”
“Get to my office,” Serena said. “Now.”
There was a pause before Emma responded. “On my way.”
A few minutes later, Emma walked in, looking slightly concerned. “Alright, what’s going on?”
Serena wasted no time. “I need you to fire Lucas.”
Emma blinked. “What? Why? He is really good at marketing.”
Serena exhaled, leaning forward. “I have a hunch that he’s not here by accident. He always seems to be around me, always crossing paths with me. And now that I know Thomas Winters is involved in all of this, I don’t trust anyone. Lucas could be following orders from someone else, and I can’t risk keeping him around.”
Emma frowned. “Thomas winters? Is Mr Ryan's father involved in this? You really think he’s spying on you?”
Serena nodded. “I don’t know for sure, but I’d rather be safe than sorry.”
Emma sighed. “Alright. I’ll handle it.”
Serena nodded. “Make sure there’s no scene. Just let him go quietly.”
Emma saluted mockingly. “Got it, boss.”
As Emma left, Serena exhaled, running a hand down her face.
One problem down. Now for the next.
She needed proof—something concrete to confirm her suspicions. And she needed someone who could get it for her.
She grabbed her phone again, this time searching for a private investigation agency. It didn’t take long before she found one with a solid reputation.
She dialed the number, and after a few rings, a calm male voice answered. “Blackwood Investigations. How can we help you?”
Serena leaned forward. “I need a private investigator. Someone discreet.”
The man’s voice remained professional. “What type of case?”
Serena hesitated for only a second before responding. “Surveillance. I need two people followed.”
“Names?”
“Kate Andrews and Thomas Winters,” Serena said without hesitation.
There was a slight pause before the man responded, “Understood. Do you have photographs of them?”
“I’ll send them over.”
“Good. We’ll assign one of our best to the case. You’ll receive regular updates.”
Serena nodded. “That’s exactly what I need.”
After ending the call, she immediately sent over the pictures of Kate and Thomas.
She didn’t know what they were up to, but if they thought they could play games with her, they were wrong.
She wasn’t just going to sit back and wait for them to destroy everything she built.
She was going to fight back.
And she was going to win.
