Rejected By My Mate; Claimed By Lycan Quadruplets Chapter 268

David adjusted his tie and looked Ryan straight in the eyes. His voice was calm but firm.

“Mr. Winters, I’ll get straight to the point. If you don’t hand Amy over to her mother right now, this situation will escalate into a legal nightmare for you.”

Ryan’s jaw tightened, his fists curling at his sides. “Are you seriously threatening me, Mr… Whatever?” he asked coldly.

David gave a small, confident smile.

“Not a threat, just a fact. You see, Serena has full custody of Amy. You taking her without permission can be seen as abduction, Ryan.

And trust me, that’s not a battle you want to fight—not in court, not in the media.”

Kate, standing beside Ryan with her arms crossed, scoffed loudly.

“Oh please! Serena always plays the victim, doesn’t she?” She rolled her eyes and smirked.

“She’s just being dramatic. You have every right to see your daughter, Ryan. She’s your flesh and blood.” Kate uttered, acting all supportive.

Serena, standing on the doorstep with David by her side, held her ground.

Her hands trembled slightly, but her face remained unreadable.

“This isn’t about rights, Kate,” she said in a sharp tone.

“This is about what’s best for Amy. And snatching her from school without my permission isn’t in her best interest.”

Ryan took a step closer, his blue eyes flashing with anger.

“Snatching? I picked up my daughter from school, Serena! My daughter! And don’t act like you’ve been some saint. You’ve lied to me for years!”

Serena’s lips pressed together tightly. “That’s your problem for whatever lie you think I did, Ryan,” she said coolly. “And right now, the only thing that matters is Amy’s well-being.”

David placed a hand on Serena’s shoulder, stepping forward again.

“Mr Winters, I advise you to listen. If you force this, it will get messy.”

Ryan exhaled harshly, running a frustrated hand through his hair.

“So what? You want me to just hand her over without a fight?”

Kate smirked and placed a hand on Ryan’s arm.

“Ryan, don’t listen to them. She’s just trying to take Amy away from you. You have every right to keep your daughter here. Let them take you to court if they dare.”

Ryan glanced down at Kate, his expression conflicted.

“Kate, this isn’t just about me. It’s about Amy. I don’t want her caught up in all this mess.” He turned his attention back to Serena, his voice laced with frustration.

“Fine. You want her right? Take her. But don’t think for a second this is over. I’ll definitely find a way to get my daughter to be with me soon.”

Serena took a step forward, holding out her hand. “Where is she, Ryan?” She ask ignoring his last statement.

Ryan turned on his heel and disappeared inside the house without another word.

Serena felt her heart pounding as she waited.

She could hear the sound of her own breathing, the tension so thick it was almost suffocating.

Kate leaned against the doorframe, her arms still crossed.

“You really are something, aren’t you, Serena?” she sneered.

“First, you take him away from me, then you take his child. What else do you want?”

Serena’s gaze remained steady. “Kate, I’m not here for you. This is about Amy, and only Amy. You should stop acting like you care. You can only manipulate Ryan with that act of yours, not me!”

Just then, Amy appeared in the doorway, holding Ryan’s hand.

Her eyes lit up the moment she saw her mother.

“Mommy!” she called out, letting go of Ryan’s hand and running to Serena.

Serena knelt and wrapped her daughter in a tight embrace, kissing her forehead repeatedly.

“I’m here, baby. Mommy’s here.” She stood up, gripping Amy’s hand tightly, her eyes meeting Ryan’s one last time.

“Don’t do this again, Ryan.”

Ryan’s expression was unreadable. “We’ll see about that,” he muttered under his breath.

Without another word, Serena turned on her heel and led Amy toward the car, David following close behind.

As they drove away, Serena tried to focus on the road, but her mind was racing.

She glanced at Amy through the rearview mirror and saw her looking out the window, deep in thought.

“Sweetheart,” Serena said gently, “I’m really sorry about what happened today. I promise I won’t let anything like this happen again.”

Amy turned to face her mother, her little face full of questions.

“Why does Daddy always want me to stay with him? Doesn’t he know I like being with you?”

Serena swallowed the lump in her throat.

“Daddy loves you, Amy. He just… doesn’t always do the right things. But for now, I want you to promise me something, okay?”

Amy nodded. “What is it, Mommy?”

Serena smiled faintly.

“For now, I don’t want you going anywhere with Daddy without asking me first. You can always talk to him on the phone, but until things get better, you stay with me. Is that okay?”

Amy tilted her head thoughtfully. “Okay, Mommy. But I’ll miss Daddy sometimes.”

Serena sighed and reached back to squeeze Amy’s hand gently. “I know, baby. I know. You can still talk to him, and I’ll make sure you get to see him when it’s the right time.”

By the time they arrived home, Serena was exhausted, but she still had to take care of Amy.

After giving her a warm bath and dressing her in her pajamas, they sat at the dining table where Serena had prepared Amy’s favorite spaghetti and meatballs.

As they ate, Amy looked up suddenly. “Mommy, are we still going to have fun tomorrow?”

Serena chuckled softly, relieved at the change in topic.

“Of course we are! I was thinking maybe we could go to the amusement park after school. What do you think?”

Amy’s eyes widened with excitement. “Yay! Can we get ice cream too?”

Serena laughed. “Anything you want, sweetheart.”

After dinner, Serena tucked Amy into bed, brushing her fingers gently through her hair.

“Goodnight, my love,” she whispered, kissing her forehead.

Amy smiled sleepily. “Goodnight, Mommy. I love you.”

Serena stood in the doorway for a while, watching Amy sleep peacefully. She whispered to herself, “I almost lost you today… but I won’t let that happen again.”

The next morning, Ryan arrived at his company earlier than usual.

His assistant, Jefferson, greeted him at the entrance with an urgent expression.

“Sir, there’s been an emergency board meeting scheduled.”

Ryan frowned. “An emergency meeting? Who called it?”

Jefferson adjusted his glasses nervously.

“It was initiated by the new shareholder, sir. He’s requesting immediate changes to company operations.”

Ryan clenched his jaw. “That guy again… Fine. Let’s go.”

Inside the boardroom, tension hung thick in the air.

The new shareholder, a tall, dark-haired man with a calculating expression, sat at the head of the table, smirking as Ryan entered.

“Ladies and gentlemen,” the man began, his voice dripping with arrogance.

“As you all know, I’ve acquired a significant percentage of the company’s shares, and with that, I propose some structural changes.”

Ryan narrowed his eyes. “And who do you think you are, waltzing in here and trying to change things overnight?”

The man leaned back in his chair. “Oh, you don’t remember me, do you, Ryan?”

Ryan stared at him, confusion flickering across his face. “Should I?”

The man’s smirk deepened. “You will, soon enough.”

By the end of the meeting, Ryan had barely managed to maintain control.

Though he still had the upper hand, he could feel the tension rising within the boardroom.

As he stormed back into his office, he threw his briefcase onto his desk and ran a hand down his face in frustration.

“Who the hell does he think he is?” he muttered, kicking the chair aside.

Jefferson peered into the office cautiously. “Sir, should I reschedule your other appointments?”

Ryan shook his head. “No, leave them. Just… get out.”

As Jefferson closed the door, Ryan sat down heavily in his chair, staring out of the window.

“First Serena, now this guy… Everyone’s turning against me.”

His fingers tightened around the edge of his desk. “No one takes what’s mine. No one.”
