Rejected By My Mate; Claimed By Lycan Quadruplets Chapter 291
The morning sun shone brightly, casting a golden glow over the city as Serena stepped out of the hospital doors, her mother right beside her.
But the moment they pushed through the entrance, they were met with a sea of reporters.
Camera flashes went off relentlessly, voices shouting over one another, each reporter desperate to get an exclusive statement.
“Miss Serena! How are you feeling after the accident?”
“Is there any side effect from falling into the water?”
“Can you tell us who was with you at the time of the incident?”
Serena kept her head down, her face completely expressionless, as she pushed through the crowd with her mother by her side.
“Move,” Mrs. Winthrop snapped, using her arm to block the reporters from getting too close.
“Get out of the way!”
A reporter, determined not to lose the chance, stepped forward, shoving a microphone toward Serena.
“There are rumors that you actually didn’t make it out alive! What do you have to say about that?”
Mrs. Winthrop stopped in her tracks, her eyes blazing with fury.
“Does she look dead to you?” she shot back.
The reporter flushed in embarrassment, but before he could reply, Serena finally spoke, her voice cool and sharp.
“Keep spreading lies if that’s what makes your news interesting.”
With that, she climbed into the car, her mother right behind her, and the moment the doors slammed shut, they both let out a sigh of relief.
Mrs. Winthrop rubbed her temples, clearly irritated.
“Who the hell leaked this to the media? Do they have nothing better to do?”
Serena leaned her head back against the seat, exhausted.
“I have a feeling it’s Kate,” she muttered. “She’s always good at publicity stunts and I won’t be surprised.”
Mrs. Winthrop scoffed. “That woman has nothing better to do than obsess over you after so many years.”
As the driver pulled away from the hospital, news channels and social media exploded with updates.
Breaking News: Serena Winthrop, CEO of Rocky’s Design, Has Been Discharged!
Exclusive: Serena Winthrop Alive and Well After Tragic Accident!
However, amidst the real news, there were still false reports circulating.
Some sources claim Serena Winthrop did not survive the accident.
Rumors suggest Serena Winthrop is in critical condition!
Serena sighed, staring out the window. “They’ll say anything for clicks.”
Mrs. Winthrop folded her arms. “Let them talk. What matters is you’re safe.”
Meanwhile, across the city, Bianca was sitting in her luxurious apartment, setting her breakfast on the dining table.
The smell of freshly brewed coffee filled the air as she took a sip, her phone resting beside her.
She absentmindedly scrolled through her feed, but the moment she saw Serena’s name trending, her hand froze mid-air.
Her eyes narrowed, reading the headline.
“Serena Winters Discharged From Hospital—Alive and Well.”
Bianca clicked her tongue, tapping her spoon against her plate.
“So she made it out, huh?” she muttered under her breath.
Without wasting another second, she picked up her phone and dialed Maddie’s number.
The moment Maddie picked up, they both spoke at the same time.
“She survived.”
There was a short pause, then Maddie groaned dramatically. “Ugh! That woman just won’t disappear, will she?”
Bianca leaned back in her chair, twirling a strand of hair around her finger.
“Tell me about it. I was actually there when Ryan showed up.”
Maddie perked up immediately. “Ryan?”
“Yeah, her ex-husband,” Bianca said, rolling her eyes.
“I swear, all the handsome men keep running after Serena for some reason. It’s ridiculous.”
Maddie snorted. “Wait, wait—describe him to me. I need details.”
Bianca smirked. “Tall, broad-shouldered, dark hair, sharp jawline. He looked like he walked out of a magazine cover.”
Maddie whistled. “Damn. And she left a man like that for who? Nathan?”
Bianca let out a bitter laugh. “Exactly! Can you believe it? Ryan came rushing in like he was about to die from worry. And guess what?”
Maddie leaned forward. “What?”
“Serena was so rude to him!” Bianca said, throwing her hands up.
“She acted like he was some random stranger. Told him to leave and only see her if it was about Amy.”
Maddie gasped. “No way!”
“Yes way,” Bianca said, her voice dripping with disbelief.
“The man was literally scared out of his mind thinking something happened to her, and she just threw him aside like garbage.”
Maddie shook her head. “That’s insane. So, what did he do?”
“He left,” Bianca said, sighing.
“But not before looking totally heartbroken. Like, I swear, if I didn’t know better, I’d say he still loves her.”
Maddie gasped again, dramatically this time. “Bianca, are you telling me this is a full-blown love triangle?”
Bianca laughed, shaking her head.
“More like a love mess. Nathan thinks he’s the only one in her life, but clearly, Ryan still has feelings for her.”
Maddie grinned. “Oh, this is getting juicy.”
Bianca took another sip of her coffee, then sighed dramatically.
“Honestly, I don’t get it. What’s so special about Serena? First Nathan, now Ryan. Maybe she’s secretly a witch.”
Maddie burst out laughing. “A love witch!”
They both laughed, but inside, Bianca’s mind was still spinning.
“Why did Ryan look so devastated? Is he truly over Serena?” Bianca couldn’t help but think to herself.
And more importantly… Why did it bother her so much?
Meanwhile, at Rocky’s Design, Emma was busy sorting through paperwork in Serena’s office.
With Serena taking the day off, the responsibility of managing things had fallen on her shoulders.
She had already dropped Amy at school and arrived at the office early to handle the day’s schedule.
Just as she was flipping through some reports, her phone buzzed on the desk.
A text from an unknown number.
Unknown: “You looked cute yesterday.”
Emma frowned, her heart skipping a beat.
Who the hell was this?
Before she could even process the message, her phone buzzed again.
Unknown: “I mean, you always look cute, but I just thought I should let you know.”
Emma’s eyes widened.
She stared at the screen, her mind racing.
Who was texting her like this? And why did they sound so familiar?
Her fingers hesitated over the keyboard, before she finally typed back.
“Who is this?”
A few seconds later, a reply came.
Unknown: “I think you already know.”
Emma froze, her breath catching.
And just like that, an image flashed in her mind.
Ryan’s friend! Ethan.
It had to be him.
