Rejected By My Mate; Claimed By Lycan Quadruplets Chapter 394

6 min 2 views

Kate Andrews had never driven so fast in her life.

Her hands gripped the steering wheel so tightly that her knuckles turned white, her mind racing as fast as the car.

She had spent the entire morning waiting for the next shoe to drop, constantly checking her phone, scrolling through headlines, looking for the moment the media would finally piece together the truth.

The truth that it was her in that photo.

That it was Thomas Winters tangled in bed with her.

She needed to talk to someone—someone she could trust.

And there was only one person who fit that description.

Thirty minutes later, Kate pulled up outside Rolly’s apartment.

She took a deep breath, staring at the building as she debated whether or not this was a good idea.

Rolly had been her best friend for years. They had done everything together, been through countless relationships, secrets, betrayals, victories.

But this?

This was different.

Telling Rolly meant admitting just how bad things had gotten.

It meant laying out the entire mess—Thomas, Ryan, the photos, the looming scandal.

And Kate wasn’t sure if she was ready for that.

But at the same time…

If she didn’t tell Rolly now, someone else would.

And Kate refused to let someone else control the narrative.

Not this time.

With a frustrated sigh, she climbed out of the car and walked up to the door.

The moment Rolly opened the door, her lips curled into a wide grin.

“Finally!” she exclaimed, stepping aside to let Kate in. “I was wondering when you’d remember I exist.”

Kate forced a smirk as she walked inside, her heels clicking against the wooden floors.

“You act like it’s been forever.”

“It has been forever,” Rolly huffed, shutting the door behind them. “You’ve been off the grid, off the internet, off everything. Meanwhile, I’ve been here, patiently waiting for you to come and spill all the details about your week of paradise.”

Kate sighed, rubbing her temple. “It wasn’t—”

Rolly gasped, cutting her off. “Oh my God. Was it that good? Is that why you’ve been hiding?” She wiggled her eyebrows, grabbing Kate’s wrist and dragging her toward the living room.

“Come on, sit. I want all the details…”

Kate let herself be pulled along, trying to mask her unease.

Rolly flopped onto the couch, patting the seat next to her. “Alright, start from the beginning. What was the best part?”

Kate hesitated, forcing herself to act normal.

“Everything was perfect,” she said, her voice light, casual. “The resort was stunning. You know, the Private villas, five-star everything. We spent most of our time at the beach, on yachts, just… relaxing.”

Rolly sighed dreamily. “God, that sounds amazing. Tell me about the food. Wait, no—the shopping. Did you at least buy me something?”

Kate smirked, trying to keep up the act. “Of course I did.”

Rolly grinned, reaching for her glass of wine on the table. “That’s why you’re my best friend.”

Kate chuckled, but her heart was pounding.

She could feel Rolly’s eyes studying her, searching, analyzing.

And then—

Just like that, Rolly’s entire expression shifted.

She tilted her head, swirling her wine slowly. “Alright, spill it.”

Kate blinked. “Spill what?”

Rolly gave her a knowing look. “Don’t insult me, Kate. You think I don’t know when something is wrong?”

Kate’s stomach twisted.

“Rolly, I’m fine,” she tried.

“Kate,” Rolly pressed, setting her wine down. “You’re tense as hell. You’ve barely looked at your phone, and you’re acting like you have a gun to your head trying to answer my questions. So, what the hell happened?”

Kate opened her mouth—then closed it.

This was it.

The moment she had been dreading.

Rolly was too sharp. She always had been. There was no way to lie to her.

And Kate knew…

If she didn’t say it now, it would be worse when Rolly found out later.

So, with a deep breath, she leaned forward, clasping her hands together.

“There’s a reason I’ve been avoiding my phone.”

Rolly’s eyes narrowed slightly. “Go on.”

Kate exhaled slowly, then finally said it.

“The pictures all over the internet—the ones of the two people in bed?”

Rolly nodded. “Yeah, what about them?”

Kate’s heart pounded.

“It’s me,” she whispered.

Rolly froze.

She blinked once. Then twice. Then, she let out a nervous laugh.

“Wait. Hold on. What?”

Kate swallowed. “The pictures. The ones that are trending. It’s me and Thomas.”

Rolly stared at her.

Then, she snatched her phone off the table, unlocking it with shaky hands.

She pulled up one of the articles, scrolling through the images again.

The blurred-out figures. The compromising position.

It had been all over the news, and Rolly—like everyone else—had assumed it was just some mystery billionaire with his mistress.

But now?

Now, she knew exactly who it was.

And it shook her to her core.

Rolly slowly set the phone down, her mouth slightly open in shock.

“Kate,” she breathed, her voice barely above a whisper. “Are you serious?”

Kate nodded, looking away.

Rolly exhaled sharply, running a hand through her hair. “Jesus Christ.”

A long silence stretched between them.

Then, Rolly leaned forward, her voice urgent. “How did this happen? Who took these pictures?!”

Kate shook her head. “We don’t know yet. But we think it’s Serena.”

Rolly’s eyes widened. “Serena? She did this?!”

Kate scoffed. “Who else would want to ruin me like this?”

Rolly bit her lip, shaking her head. “I mean, yeah, she hates you, but this? This is nuclear.”

Kate sighed, rubbing her forehead. “Thomas thinks she’s playing a long game. Like she’s waiting for the media to connect the dots before she drops the final bomb.”

Rolly groaned, leaning back on the couch. “This is bad, Kate. This is really bad. If people find out it’s you and Thomas—if Ryan finds out—”

Kate closed her eyes. “I know.”

Rolly sighed, rubbing her temples. “Shit.”

Silence filled the room again.

Then, Rolly let out a humorless laugh.

“God, Kate, you really don’t do half-assed scandals, do you?”

Kate let out a dry chuckle. “Apparently not.”

Rolly shook her head. “We need to figure out what to do next. Because if this gets worse—”

Kate swallowed hard. “I know. We’re running out of time.”

Rolly stared at her for a moment longer, then finally sighed.

“Alright,” she said, straightening up. “We need to think of a plan real quick.”

“What do you have in mind?” Kate urgently asked.
