Rejected By My Mate; Claimed By Lycan Quadruplets Chapter 297
It was already noon, and Serena was buried in work, her eyes glued to her laptop screen as she reviewed the latest project proposals.
Her office door suddenly swung open, and the familiar clinking sound of utensils against a food tray made her look up.
Emma walked in, carrying a neatly packed lunch.
“Here you go, boss,” Emma said cheerfully, placing the tray on Serena’s desk.
Serena sighed and leaned back in her chair.
“You really don’t have to bring my lunch every day, you know.”
Emma smirked, crossing her arms. “I do when I know you’d rather starve than step out of this office.”
Serena chuckled, shaking her head. “Alright, alright. I appreciate it. What’s on the menu today?”
Emma lifted the lid of the container, revealing an exquisitely prepared meal—grilled salmon, steamed vegetables, and mashed potatoes.
“Something light but fancy,” Emma said proudly. “I figured you’d need the energy for tonight.”
Serena raised an eyebrow. “Tonight?”
Emma’s eyes lit up with excitement. “Oh! I almost forgot. You have an invite to a ball this evening.”
Serena frowned. “A ball? From whom?”
Emma pulled out an elegant invitation card from her folder and handed it to Serena.
“It’s from Mr. Vincent Montgomery,” Emma explained. “One of our top clients. He’s in his early fifties, and he’s been a longtime supporter of Rocky’s Design.”
Serena opened the invitation, scanning the golden-embossed text.
“And why do I need to be there?” she asked, setting the card aside.
Emma took a seat across from her.
“Because Mr. Montgomery plans to discuss a huge project with you tonight, and trust me, this one is big. If we secure this deal, it could take Rocky’s Design to the next level.”
Serena sighed, rubbing her temples. “Emma, I just got back to work. Can’t we arrange a proper meeting instead?”
Emma gave her a pointed look.
“This isn’t just about a meeting, Serena. All the top billionaires and millionaires will be there. It’s the perfect opportunity for networking.”
Serena groaned. “I hate these fancy events.”
Emma grinned. “I know. That’s why I’m here to make sure you don’t back out.”
Serena leaned back in her chair, exhaling deeply. “Fine. I’ll go.”
Emma clapped her hands together excitedly. “That’s the spirit!”
“But I don’t have anything to wear,” Serena added quickly, hoping for an excuse.
Emma was already one step ahead.
“Leave that to me. I’ll call your designer and tell her to bring several options for you. I’ll also have a makeup artist and hairstylist come to your office.”
Serena shook her head in amusement. “You really don’t give me room to say no, do you?”
Emma smirked. “Nope. You hired me for a reason.”
Serena chuckled. “Alright, go ahead and make the calls.”
Emma nodded eagerly and stood up. “Consider it done.”
With that, she left the office, already dialing numbers on her phone.
Serena sighed, staring at the invitation again.
Something about this felt too perfect—almost as if someone had planned it…
But she pushed the thought aside.
She had a ball to attend.
Meanwhile, in a private lounge of a luxurious hotel, Bianca Taylor sat elegantly across from an older man—Mr. Richard Carter, a wealthy businessman in his late fifties.
His sharp blue eyes roamed over Bianca, but she remained composed, her face unreadable.
The air was thick with anticipation, the scent of expensive cigars and cologne lingering between them.
Mr. Carter took a sip of his whiskey, swirling the glass as he studied her.
“So, Bianca, why did you want to meet with me?”
Bianca smirked, leaning forward slightly.
“Because I know something very interesting about you, Mr. Carter.”
He raised an eyebrow. “Oh? And what would that be?”
Bianca’s red lips curled into a mischievous smile. “You’re one of Serena Winthrop’s biggest clients.”
Mr. Carter narrowed his eyes. “And?”
Bianca crossed her legs slowly, her silk dress riding up slightly as she tilted her head, her eyes filled with cunning amusement.
“And I also know that if there’s anyone Serena wouldn’t say no to, it’s you.”
A slow smile spread across Mr. Carter’s face. “You’ve done your research.”
Bianca nodded, her eyes gleaming. “I always do.”
She reached into her purse and pulled out an envelope, sliding it across the table toward him.
“Inside is a very simple proposal,” she said smoothly.
“You will invite Serena to the Montgomery Ball tonight and bring up a fake business deal—one that she can’t refuse. Make her feel like it’s the opportunity of a lifetime.”
Mr. Carter opened the envelope, scanning the documents inside.
“And why would I do that?” he asked, his tone skeptical.
Bianca’s smirk widened.
“Because, Mr. Carter,” she purred, standing up from her seat and taking slow, deliberate steps toward him.
She stopped in front of him, then leaned down slightly, trailing her manicured fingers down his chest.
His breath hitched.
Bianca bit her lower lip seductively, her voice lowering to a whisper.
“If you follow my plan properly,” she murmured into his ear, “then for one whole week… all of me belongs to you.”
Mr. Carter’s body tensed beneath her touch, his eyes darkening with desire.
A wide grin stretched across his face. “You drive a hard bargain, Bianca.”
She smirked, slowly easing herself onto his lap, her fingers still teasing his chest.
“I always get what I want,” she whispered.
Mr. Carter swallowed hard, his hands instinctively gripping her waist.
His self-control wavered, his heart pounding as Bianca pressed a kiss to his cheek.
A shudder ran through his body.
He was already wrapped around her little finger.
“Fine,” he breathed, his voice husky. “I’ll do it.”
Bianca smiled in satisfaction, pulling back just enough to look him in the eyes.
“Good,” she whispered.
Then, as if nothing had happened, she gracefully slid off his lap, straightened her dress, and picked up her purse.
“I’ll see you at the ball, Mr. Carter,” she said with a wink.
With that, she turned around and walked away, her heels clicking against the floor.
Mr. Carter exhaled sharply, his mind spinning.
He had just made a deal with the devil.
And he couldn’t even bring himself to regret it.
The game had just begun.
