Rejected By My Mate; Claimed By Lycan Quadruplets Chapter 262
Kate drove to Rolly’s apartment, humming to the music playing on the car stereo.
She couldn’t wait to share the good news with her friend. As soon as she parked, she grabbed her phone and called Rolly.
“I’m outside your apartment ,” Kate said excitedly.
In less than a minute, Rolly opened the door, grinning. “Come in, come in! What’s with the happy face?”
Kate stepped inside and shut the door behind her. “Guess what? I just left Mrs. Winters’ house, and everything went perfectly. Ryan’s parents are totally on my side now.”
Rolly’s eyes widened. “No way! How did you pull it off?”
Kate flopped onto the couch, kicking off her heels. “I told her about the pregnancy and put on some tears. She bought it all! Ryan didn’t stand a chance. His mom even told him there won’t be any hospital tests.”
Rolly burst into laughter. “Oh my God, you’re a genius! Ryan must be fuming right now.”
Kate smirked. “Oh, he is. He stormed out like a little boy. But I won!”
Rolly clapped her hands. “This calls for a celebration!”
Kate grinned. “Exactly what I was thinking.” She reached for her bag and pulled out a bottle of wine. “Let’s drink to my victory.”
Rolly laughed, heading to the kitchen to grab glasses. “You know, this place feels too quiet. We need some music.” She picked up her phone and played an upbeat song that filled the apartment.
As they poured the drinks, Kate leaned back with a sigh. “You know what would make this celebration even better?”
Rolly raised an eyebrow. “What?”
“Men.” Kate grinned mischievously. “I mean, we can’t party properly without them, right?”
Rolly laughed. “You’re so bad, Kate. But you know what? You’re right. I’ll call my man, and you call Jake.”
Kate hesitated for a moment. “I haven’t seen Jake in a while.”
Rolly nudged her. “Come on! You told me yourself—Ryan hasn’t touched you in weeks. You need this.”
Kate sighed, then pulled out her phone and dialed Jake. He answered on the first ring.
“Hey, babe,” Jake’s voice was smooth. “Miss me?”
Kate smirked. “I might. Are you busy?”
“For you? Never,” Jake replied. “What’s up?”
“Come over. Let’s have some fun,” Kate said, licking her lips.
Jake chuckled. “Say no more. I’m on my way.”
Meanwhile, Rolly had also called her man, and within thirty minutes, the two men arrived.
They brought more drinks, and the apartment was soon filled with laughter, music, and dancing.
Kate twirled around the room, a drink in her hand, as Jake pulled her close.
“I missed you,” he whispered in her ear.
Kate leaned into him. “You have no idea.”
They shared a heated kiss, and before long, Kate dragged Jake towards the guest room.
Clothes hit the floor as they made out passionately.
Meanwhile, Ryan was driving through the city, his jaw clenched tight.
The argument with his parents still echoed in his head. He felt betrayed, cornered, and frustrated beyond words. His only thought was to see Serena.
She was the only person who could calm his mind.
When he arrived at Rocky’s Design, he walked straight to Serena’s office.
The moment he stepped inside, he saw her behind her desk, focused on some files. She barely looked up when he entered.
“Hey,” Ryan said, closing the door behind him.
Serena glanced at him briefly before returning her attention to her work. “Hi.”
Ryan frowned. “Is that all I get?”
Serena kept her eyes on the papers. “I’m busy, Ryan.”
Ryan sat down across from her. “How was your day?”
Serena sighed. “Fine.”
“Serena, come on. Look at me.”
Serena finally looked up, her expression blank. “What do you want, Ryan?”
Ryan leaned forward, resting his elbows on her desk. “I just needed to see you.”
Serena rolled her eyes. “Ryan, I don’t have time for this.”
Ryan suddenly stood up, walked to the door, and locked it. Serena’s eyebrows shot up. “What are you doing?”
He returned to her desk, leaning close, their faces just inches apart. “I miss you,” he whispered.
Serena’s breath hitched, but she quickly recovered. “Ryan, stop. This isn’t right.”
“Why not?” he murmured, brushing his fingers over her cheek.
Serena swallowed hard. “Because we’ve been through this before.”
Ryan ignored her protest and pressed his lips against hers.
Serena stiffened for a moment, but then, unable to resist, she kissed him back. His hands slid down her waist, pulling her closer.
Serena pulled away slightly, breathing heavily. “We shouldn’t be doing this.”
Ryan smirked. “But we are.”
Before Serena could protest again, Ryan kissed her deeply, lifting her onto the desk.
Papers scattered everywhere as they got lost in each other.
Serena’s hands found his hair, pulling him closer. “You’re trouble,” she muttered against his lips.
Ryan chuckled. “You love it.”
Serena didn’t deny it as she melted into his touch, completely lost in the moment.
—
Once they were done, Serena stood from the desk, adjusting her dress as she walked toward the restroom inside her office.
Ryan watched her disappear behind the door, running a hand through his hair with a sigh.
He leaned back in the chair, buttoning up his shirt, his mind racing with a mix of emotions—satisfaction, guilt, and frustration.
A few minutes later, Serena emerged from the restroom, her face fresh but now covered with a deep frown.
She walked back to her chair and sat down across from him, arms crossed over her chest, her eyes cold and distant.
Ryan leaned forward slightly. “Why are you looking at me like that?”
Serena let out a sharp breath. “I know what’s going on, Ryan.”
Ryan blinked, confused. “What are you talking about?”
Serena tilted her head. “Don’t play dumb, Ryan. I know about Kate’s pregnancy.”
Ryan’s eyes widened in shock. He sat up straight, his heart pounding in his chest. “What? How do you—”
Serena cut him off.
“That doesn’t matter. What matters is that I won’t let anything ruin my world, especially not Kate.”
Ryan rubbed his forehead, sighing. “Serena, it’s not what you think. I don’t even know if she’s telling the truth.”
Serena scoffed.
“Oh, please. Whether it’s true or not, you let her get close enough for something like this to happen.” She leaned closer, her eyes narrowing.
“Listen, Ryan. I’m warning you—tell Kate to stay away from me and my daughter.”
Ryan opened his mouth to speak, but Serena didn’t give him a chance.
“I mean it, Ryan,” she said firmly. “If she ever comes near me again, I won’t hesitate to take legal action.”
Ryan frowned. “Come on, Serena. Don’t you think you’re overreacting?”
Serena shook her head.
“Overreacting?” She gave him a pointed look. “Ryan, I have a child to protect. A child who doesn’t need to be dragged into your mess. So, if you care even a little, you’ll make sure Kate doesn’t step foot anywhere near us again.”
Ryan stared at her, frustration building inside him.
“You think this is easy for me?” he asked bitterly. “I didn’t ask for any of this.”
Serena’s lips curled into a sarcastic smile.
“No, but you sure made your bed. Now lie in it.”
Ryan gritted his teeth, feeling cornered. He stood up abruptly.
“You know what, Serena? I came here because I needed you, not a lecture.”
Serena raised an eyebrow.
“You needed me?” She laughed coldly. “Ryan, you don’t need me. You just like using me whenever it’s convenient for you.”
Ryan’s jaw tightened. “That’s not true.”
Serena pointed at the door. “Get out, Ryan.”
Ryan blinked. “What?”
“I said, get out,” she repeated firmly, her eyes locked on his.
“You’re not going to come in here, mess up my day, and then expect me to sit here and take it. Leave.”
Ryan hesitated, feeling a wave of embarrassment wash over him. “Serena—”
“Out,” she snapped, pointing again.
Ryan clenched his fists but didn’t argue.
He turned on his heels and walked to the door, opening it roughly before slamming it behind him.
Serena sighed, rubbing her temples.
“Unbelievable,” she muttered to herself, shaking her head.
Ryan stormed out of the building, his head spinning with anger and frustration.
He couldn’t believe how Serena kept pushing him away, treating him like he meant nothing whenever they were done fucking each other.
He reached his car and yanked the door open, sliding into the driver’s seat.
Slamming his hands against the steering wheel, he muttered, “Damn it!”
The thought of Kate made his blood boil. He pulled out his phone and stared at her number, his finger hovering over the call button.
“She’s going to regret this,” he muttered under his breath.
With a deep breath, he started the car and sped off, ready to confront Kate.
