Rejected By My Mate; Claimed By Lycan Quadruplets Chapter 251

Ryan woke up with a pounding headache. He hadn’t been able to sleep properly all night.

He had called Serena multiple times after returning from Kate’s house, but she didn’t pick up any of his calls.

Each ring that went unanswered only fueled his frustration.

He groaned and sat up, rubbing his face.

“Why won’t she just answer?” he muttered to himself, staring at his phone screen. A dozen missed calls and no response.

Dragging himself out of bed, he freshened up, took a quick shower, and got dressed for work.

Today, he had two meetings lined up in the morning, and his plan was simple—get through them as fast as possible and head straight to Rocky’s Design to see Serena.

“Maybe she’s just playing hard to get,” he mumbled to himself as he adjusted his tie in front of the mirror.

But deep down, a nagging feeling told him otherwise. Serena wasn’t the type to play games—not with him.

By the time he arrived at his company, Jefferson was already waiting for him at the door.

“Good morning, sir,” his assistant greeted.

Ryan barely acknowledged him, his mind still occupied with thoughts of Serena. “Morning. What’s first on my schedule?”

“You have two meetings back to back. One with the investors and another with the marketing team,” Jefferson replied as they walked towards the elevator.

Ryan sighed heavily. “Let’s just get this over with.”

The first meeting dragged on longer than he wanted.

Ryan sat at the head of the table, nodding occasionally, but his mind wandered.

He kept checking his phone under the table, hoping Serena would text back. She didn’t.

By the time the second meeting ended, he felt more restless than before.

He hurried back to his office, tossing his suit jacket onto the chair. He had barely sat down when the door swung open.

Kate walked in, a bright smile on her face and a lunch box in her hands.

“Hey, love!” she greeted cheerfully, closing the door behind her.

“I know you’ve been busy lately, so I thought I’d bring you lunch.”

Ryan stiffened. He hadn’t expected to see her, not now. “Kate… you didn’t have to.”

“I wanted to,” she said, walking over and setting the lunch box down on his desk.

“You’ve been working too hard. You barely have time to eat properly.”

Ryan forced a smile and sat back down. “Thanks, Kate. You’re too thoughtful.”

Kate grinned and opened the lunch box. “I made your favorite.”

Ryan stared at the food, suddenly feeling like he had no appetite.

He picked up a fork reluctantly, stabbing at the food. Each bite felt like chewing cardboard.

Kate watched him closely, her chin resting on her hand.

“So… I’ve been thinking,” she began sweetly. “We’ve been together for quite some time now, haven’t we?”

Ryan tensed. “Uh… yeah, we have.”

Kate leaned forward, a hopeful look in her eyes. “Don’t you think it’s time we take the next step? I mean… marriage.”

Ryan nearly choked on his food. He coughed awkwardly and took a sip of water.

“Marriage? Uh… I mean, Kate, we’re fine the way we are, right?”

Kate’s smile faltered.

“Ryan, we’re not getting any younger. Don’t you think it’s time to make things official?”

Ryan ran a hand through his hair, searching for an escape.

“Kate… look, I just have a lot on my plate right now. Work is crazy, and I don’t want to rush into anything.”

Kate’s eyes darkened slightly, but she masked it with a smile. “I understand. But promise me you’ll think about it?”

Ryan forced another smile. “Sure, Kate. I’ll think about it.”

Satisfied, Kate leaned over and kissed him lightly on the lips.

“I should let you get back to work,” she said, standing up and smoothing her dress. “I’ll see you later, okay?”

Ryan nodded quickly. “Yeah. Thanks for the lunch.”

As soon as she left, Ryan let out a deep breath and leaned back in his chair.

“Great. Just great,” he muttered.

Meanwhile, at Rocky’s Design…

Serena sat in the boardroom, listening to her team discuss their latest furniture designs.

She kept her expression composed, nodding at the right moments, but in truth, her mind was elsewhere.

Emma, her assistant, flipped through some reports.

“Our latest designs have been getting amazing feedback, Ms Serena. The modern minimalist line is a hit, and our social media pages are seeing great engagement.”

Serena nodded. “That’s good news, Emma. Keep pushing our online presence.”

After the meeting, Serena walked out of the boardroom, Emma following closely behind.

Emma kept talking excitedly.

“We’ve also been getting inquiries from international clients. People are really loving our handcrafted pieces, and there’s potential for expansion.”

“That’s promising,” Serena replied, walking briskly to her office.

When they arrived, Serena sank into her chair with a sigh of relief.

“Any updates on my next meeting?” she asked, rubbing her temples.

Emma nodded. “Yes, the client is here. Shall I send him in?”

Serena waved a hand. “Go ahead.”

A moment later, the door opened, and a tall, handsome man stepped inside.

Serena’s eyes widened in surprise, and the man’s expression mirrored hers.

“Well, well… I never expected to see you here,” the man said, flashing a grin.

Serena sat up straighter, shock written all over her face. “Nathan?”

Nathan chuckled. “It’s been a while, hasn’t it?”

Emma looked between them, clearly intrigued. “You two know each other?”

Serena smirked slightly, crossing her arms. “You could say that.”

Nathan took a seat opposite her, his eyes twinkling with amusement. “Looks like fate decided to cross our paths again.”

Serena arched her brow. “Fate or coincidence?”

Nathan leaned forward. “Does it matter?”

Serena rolled her eyes but couldn’t hide the hint of a smile playing on her lips.

Emma quickly excused herself, leaving them alone.

“So,” Nathan said, drumming his fingers on the desk.

“Rocky’s Design, huh? You’ve come a long way, Serena.”

Serena leaned back in her chair. “And you? What brings you here?”

Nathan grinned. “Business. But who knows… maybe a little pleasure too.”

Serena gave him a pointed look. “Let’s keep it professional, shall we?”

Nathan chuckled. “We’ll see about that.”
