Rejected By My Mate; Claimed By Lycan Quadruplets Chapter 328
As Serena walked off the stage, the noise in the conference room grew louder.
Reporters shouted questions, their voices overlapping, but she didn’t turn back.
The security team stepped in, keeping the crowd at bay as she exited through the side door.
As She stepped out of the press conference venue, the weight she had been carrying for days felt just a little lighter.
The reporters had thrown difficult questions her way, but she had answered them all with confidence.
For the first time, she had spoken her truth, and now it was out in the open.
The fresh air outside was a relief, and the moment she reached the car waiting for her, Emma was already standing beside it, her arms crossed and a proud smile on her face.
“That,” Emma said the second Serena got closer, “was brilliant. You did so amazing there. I told you earlier that you can do it. You getting so frustrated and perhaps trying to hurt yourself wouldn’t have cleared your name, Ma’am Serena.”
Serena exhaled and ran a hand through her hair. “I guess it’s all thanks to you I had the strength to go through with this press conference. Right now, I’m just hoping for a change in all of this.”
Emma opened the car door for her. “Trust me, you did great. There is definitely a change, Ma’am Serena. Now, come on. You need to see something.”
Serena didn’t ask what Emma meant.
She simply slid into the car, and Emma followed right after. The driver pulled away from the building, smoothly merging into traffic.
Serena leaned back against the seat, staring out of the window.
Her heart was still beating fast from the rush of the conference. The questions. The flashing lights. The weight of the world on her shoulders.
Emma was busy on her phone, scrolling through something with sharp focus. Serena glanced at her. “What are you looking at so intensely? Is there something wrong?”
Emma handed the phone over. “Ma’am Serena, Your name is everywhere right now. But here’s the interesting part—people aren’t attacking you this time. I think everything worked as planned.”
Serena took the phone, her brows pulling together as she looked at the screen.
Sure enough, her name was trending, but when she clicked on the tag, the comments were… different. Very different from all of the insults thrown at her some hours ago.
“I think we’ve all been blaming the wrong person.”
“Serena Winthrop has been silent for so long. Now that she’s finally speaking, everything makes sense.”
“Wait… so Ryan cheated on her? And with Kate of all people?”
Serena blinked. She scrolled further. The shift in public opinion was clear. People weren’t mocking her or tearing her apart this time. Instead, they were questioning everything they had believed for years.
Her grip on the phone tightened slightly. “I don’t believe it,” she muttered.
Emma smirked. “Believe it. You did what you had to do, and now people are actually listening.”
Serena didn’t say anything else. She just kept scrolling.
By the time they arrived at her office building, she felt a strange mix of emotions—relief, disbelief, and something close to hope.
As she stepped into her office, her eyes immediately landed on the small couch near her desk.
Amy was still there.
She was curled up exactly where Serena had left her, her tiny body wrapped in a blanket. But now, she was awake.
The second Serena walked in, Amy sat up, rubbing her eyes sleepily.
She looked around in confusion, then her gaze landed on her mother.
“Mommy?”
Serena’s heart melted instantly. She walked over, kneeling in front of the couch. “Hey, sweetheart.”
Amy pouted, reaching for her. Serena pulled her into a gentle hug, feeling her daughter’s warmth against her.
“Where did you go?” Amy mumbled, her voice still laced with sleep. “I woke up and you weren’t here.”
Serena stroked her back. “I had something important to do, but I’m here now.”
Amy pulled away slightly and looked up at her mother with those big, innocent eyes. “Was it work?”
Serena smiled softly. “Yes, baby. It was work.”
Amy was silent for a moment before she asked, “Did they make you cry?”
Serena stiffened slightly.
Amy was young, but she was observant. She had seen her mother hurt before.
Serena shook her head. “No, sweetheart. I’m okay.”
Amy studied her for a second, then nodded, seemingly satisfied with the answer.
Emma, who had been watching the interaction quietly, finally spoke up. “Amy, are you hungry?”
Amy turned to her and immediately perked up. “Yes!”
Emma chuckled. “I was about to go grab lunch. Want to come with me?”
Amy’s face lit up, and she turned to Serena with an excited expression. “Can I go, Mommy?”
Serena smiled, brushing a strand of hair from Amy’s face. “Of course. But be good, okay?”
“I will!” Amy jumped off the couch and ran over to grab Emma’s hand.
Emma glanced back at Serena. “We’ll be back soon. Do you want me to bring anything for you?”
Serena shook her head. “Just take care of my daughter.”
Emma gave her a reassuring nod before leading Amy out of the office.
The moment they left, Serena exhaled and sank into her chair.
Alone at last.
She turned to her laptop and opened it, ready to bury herself in work. But the moment she did, her phone vibrated again.
And again.
And again.
She hesitated, then picked it up. Notifications flooded her screen.
More comments. More opinions. More people talking.
With a deep breath, she unlocked her phone and began reading.
“Kate Andrews is the real villain here.”
“Serena was dragged through the mud while Ryan and Kate played happy couple? This is insane.”
“People need to apologize to Serena.”
A small smile tugged at the corner of her lips.
She wasn’t the type to celebrate too soon.
But at least, for now, it felt like she wasn’t alone in this fight anymore.
