Rejected By My Mate; Claimed By Lycan Quadruplets Chapter 267
Serena wrapped up the last of her paperwork, stretching her arms with a sigh of relief.
Finally, she could leave the office and pick up Amy. It had been a long day, and she was eager to see her daughter’s bright smile.
She grabbed her purse and car keys, heading out in a hurry.
The thought of spending the evening with Amy made her feel a little better, especially after the heated confrontation with Ryan earlier.
“Ms Serena, are you leaving already?” Emma asked the moment she saw Serena step out of her office.
“Oh yes. I’m thinking of spending some time with Amy and that’s the reason I’m picking her up myself.
“That’s a great idea, ma’am. See you tomorrow.” Serena nodded without saying any other word and strode to the elevator.
When she arrived at Amy’s school, she parked quickly and walked up to the entrance, smiling politely at the receptionist.
“Good afternoon, I’m here to pick up Amy Winthrop ,” Serena said, brushing a loose strand of hair behind her ear.
The receptionist looked up and blinked. “Oh… Ms. Winthrop, Amy’s already been picked up.”
Serena’s smile faltered. “What?”
The receptionist nodded. “Yes, her father came by earlier and took her home.”
Serena’s fists clenched at her sides, her heart pounding in her chest.
“Her father?” she repeated, her voice dangerously low.
The receptionist, sensing the tension, nodded again. “Yes, Mr. Winters. He signed her out about half an hour ago.”
Serena didn’t say another word. She turned around and stormed out of the school, her heels clicking against the pavement with each angry step.
Once she got into her car, she slammed the door shut and gripped the steering wheel tightly.
“Ryan,” she hissed through gritted teeth.
Without wasting another second, she pulled out her phone and dialed her lawyer’s number.
It rang twice before he answered.
“Ms Serena, what’s the matter?” the deep voice on the other end asked.
“Ryan, my baby daddy, took Amy,” she said sharply. “He picked her up from school without telling me!”
The lawyer sighed. “Did the school confirm it was him?”
“Of course, they did!” Serena snapped.
“I swear, if he thinks he can just waltz in and take my daughter without my permission—”
“Calm down,” the lawyer cut in. “Send me your location. I’ll come to you, and we’ll go together to get her back.”
Serena shook her head impatiently. “No, send me your location. I’ll pick you up. I can’t wait another minute.”
A moment later, her phone pinged with his address.
Without another word, she sped off, weaving through traffic like a woman possessed.
Her grip on the steering wheel was so tight that her knuckles turned white.
When she reached his office, the lawyer, a tall, stern-looking man named David, was already waiting outside.
He slid into the passenger seat and fastened his seatbelt.
“Okay, tell me everything,” David said as Serena sped down the road.
Serena’s jaw was tight as she recounted the situation.
“Ryan only found out about Amy a few months ago, and now he thinks he can take over. He’s been unpredictable lately, and I won’t let him get away with this.”
David nodded, jotting down notes on his phone. “Do you have full custody of Amy?”
“Of course! You know I do,” Serena snapped. “But I have a bad feeling about this. Ryan is rich, and he’ll do anything to take her from me.”
David sighed. “We’ll see how he reacts first. If he refuses to return her, we’ll take legal action immediately.”
When they finally pulled up in front of Ryan’s mansion, Serena jumped out of the car without waiting for David.
She marched straight to the front door and rang the bell repeatedly.
Kate opened the door, dressed in a silk robe, her lips curling into a smug grin the moment she saw Serena.
“Well, well, well,” Kate drawled, leaning against the doorframe.
“Look who decided to show up at my boyfriend’s house. Didn’t you say Ryan was just a fling?”
Serena glared at her. “I’m not here for you, Kate. Get out of my way and bring me my daughter.”
Kate folded her arms across her chest, smirking.
“Oh? So now you care about your daughter? Maybe if you weren’t too busy seducing other men, you’d know where she was.”
Serena’s eyes blazed with fury.
“Kate, not everyone is as cheap as you, I don’t have time for your games. Call Ryan and tell him to bring Amy out. Now.”
Kate laughed mockingly.
“Or what? You’ll stand out here screaming like a madwoman? Honestly, Serena, you’re pathetic.”
Serena took a deep breath, trying to stay calm, but her patience was wearing thin.
“Kate. I’m warning you. Get Ryan. Now.”
Kate rolled her eyes.
“Oh please, what are you going to do? Sue us?” She glanced at David, who stood silently behind Serena. “Who’s this? Your new boyfriend?”
Serena didn’t respond to the taunt. She simply stepped forward. “Step aside, Kate. I’m not going to ask again.”
Kate’s smirk faltered slightly, but before she could reply, a deep voice interrupted them.
“What’s going on here?”
Ryan appeared in the doorway, frowning as his gaze shifted from Serena to David.
His expression darkened when his eyes locked on Serena.
“You,” he muttered, his jaw tightening. “What are you doing here?”
Serena crossed her arms. “I came to get my daughter. Where is she, Ryan?”
Ryan smirked. “And what if I say no?”
David stepped forward.
“Mr. Winters, you’re legally not allowed to take the child without the mother’s consent and you know it! I suggest you hand her over before this turns into a legal battle.”
Ryan’s eyes narrowed. “Are you threatening me?”
Serena cut in.
“No, Ryan. We’re just reminding you of the law. Give me my daughter, and I’ll leave.”
Ryan crossed his arms, staring her down. “And what if I don’t?”
Serena’s hands balled into fists at her sides, her heart pounding.
“Then you’ll regret it,” she said in a low voice, her eyes burning with fury.
Kate watched the exchange with satisfaction, silently hoping Ryan wouldn’t give in so easily.
