Rejected By My Mate; Claimed By Lycan Quadruplets Chapter 341
That night at Serena’s place, she wasn’t expecting any visitors. After a long day at work, all she wanted was to rest.
She had just tucked Amy into bed, singing her a soft lullaby until the little girl’s eyes fluttered shut.
With a small smile, she brushed a gentle hand over Amy’s forehead before turning off the bedside lamp.
As she stepped out of the room, rolling her shoulders to ease the tension in them, the sudden chime of the doorbell made her pause.
Her brows furrowed.
It was late—who could possibly be visiting at this hour?
She moved toward the door, her fingers hesitating on the handle for a moment before she unlocked it and pulled it open.
Ryan stood there.
A slow smile curved his lips as his dark eyes roamed over her, making her pulse quicken.
She hadn’t expected him. Not now. Not like this.
She parted her lips, ready to ask why he was here, but before she could say a word, he lifted a finger to her lips, silencing her.
The warmth of his touch sent a jolt through her, and she inhaled sharply.
Without another word, he stepped inside, shutting the door behind him.
His hand lingered against her lips, and his eyes darkened as he whispered, “I’ve missed you.”
Serena’s breath caught.
Her heart pounded in her chest, and she forced herself to step back, putting some distance between them. “Ryan—”
“I know,” he interrupted, his voice low, almost pleading.
“I know I hurt you. I know I asked for your forgiveness, and you gave it to me, at least enough to let me be in Amy’s life. But Serena…” His throat bobbed as he took another step closer.
“It’s not enough. I miss you. I miss us.”
Her chest tightened. She clenched her fists at her sides, willing herself to stay firm. “Ryan, we can’t just—”
But he didn’t let her finish.
Something snapped inside her. Maybe it was the loneliness she had tried so hard to suppress.
Maybe it was the memories of what they used to be, what they had shared. Or maybe it was the way he was looking at her now, raw and desperate.
Before she could think twice, she closed the distance between them, fisting the front of his shirt, and slammed her lips against his.
Ryan tensed, shocked by her sudden move, but he recovered quickly.
His arms wrapped around her waist, pulling her flush against him. The kiss deepened, all restraint crumbling as they clung to each other.
He lifted her into his arms, her legs wrapping around his waist as he pressed her against the door.
His hands roamed over her back, her skin burning under his touch.
She moaned softly, fingers tangling in his hair as his lips trailed down her jaw, her neck—
Ryan suddenly pulled back, breathing heavily. “Are you sure?”
Serena’s lips were swollen, her eyes hooded as she met his gaze.
A slow smirk played at her lips as she flipped them over, pressing him against the door instead. “I’ve got you covered,” she whispered.
And just like that, they lost themselves in each other.
The next morning, Ryan woke up to the soft rays of sunlight filtering through the curtains.
For a moment, he lay still, savoring the warmth of the woman beside him.
Serena was still asleep.
His brows furrowed. He had never woken up before her. She was always the first to stir, always the one who got up early, especially since Amy needed her.
She must have been exhausted.
Carefully, he slipped out of bed, making sure not to wake her. After getting dressed, he quietly made his way to Amy’s room.
She was still asleep too.
He let out a breath, relieved. He hadn’t planned on staying the night, but he couldn’t bring himself to leave after what had happened between him and Serena.
An idea formed in his mind, and he headed toward the kitchen.
Within minutes, he was moving around, cracking eggs, flipping pancakes, and brewing coffee.
The scent of food filled the air, and just as he was setting the table, he heard small footsteps behind him.
Amy stood in the hallway, rubbing her sleepy eyes with her tiny fists.
When she lowered her hands and saw Ryan, she froze.
Her little face lit up with surprise.
“Daddy?”
Ryan chuckled, crouching down and opening his arms. “Morning, princess.”
Amy let out a delighted squeal and ran into his embrace. “When did you get here?”
“Last night,” he admitted, pressing a kiss to the top of her head.
She pulled back, frowning. “You didn’t wake me up?”
He smiled, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. “I didn’t want to disturb your sleep.”
Amy pouted. “But after you took me shopping, you didn’t even come to see me anymore.”
“That’s why I’m here now,” Ryan said. “To check on my favorite girl.”
Amy’s pout disappeared, replaced by a wide grin.
But then her gaze flickered toward the dining table, and her eyes widened. “Did you… make breakfast?”
Ryan nodded proudly. “For you and Mommy.”
Amy gasped. “Mommy has to see this!”
Before he could stop her, she spun around and bolted toward Serena’s room.
A few seconds later, Serena’s groggy voice drifted out. “Amy, what—”
Amy tugged at her hand, pulling her toward the dining area. “Mommy, look! Daddy made breakfast!”
Serena blinked, her eyes still heavy with sleep as she took in the sight before her.
Pancakes, scrambled eggs, toast, and freshly brewed coffee were neatly arranged on the table.
Her lips parted in surprise.
Amy turned to her, beaming. “Come on, let’s eat!”
Serena hesitated. “Go brush your teeth first,” she said, gently nudging Amy toward the bathroom.
Amy groaned but obeyed, disappearing down the hall.
The moment she was out of sight, Serena turned to Ryan, crossing her arms. “Why did you do this?”
Ryan met her gaze evenly. “Because I wanted to.”
Serena exhaled sharply. “I don’t need your help.”
His jaw clenched. “I know you don’t. But I want to be here, Serena. I want to do things for you and Amy.”
She looked away. “I don’t want you thinking this changes anything.”
Ryan sighed. “I’m not going to push you. But I’m not going anywhere either.”
She turned her back to him, heading toward her room. “By the time I come back, I don’t want to see you here.”
She shut the door behind her.
Ryan stood there for a moment before running a frustrated hand through his hair.
He had known it wouldn’t be easy, but damn, it still hurt.
When Amy returned, he forced a smile and sat down at the table with her. “Let’s eat, princess.”
Serena might not be ready to let him back into her heart, but he wasn’t going to give up.
Not yet.
“But why does she always ask me out of her house after fucking me senseless the previous nights?” He thought inwardly with a frown on his face as he struggled to gupe down the scrambled eggs in his mouth.
