Rejected By My Mate; Claimed By Lycan Quadruplets Chapter 250

Ryan sat in his office, flipping through files, but his mind wasn’t on work.

He kept thinking about Serena—the way she had dismissed him that morning, the way she had looked at him without a trace of emotion.

It bothered him more than he cared to admit.

Just then, his office door opened, and Jefferson, his personal assistant, walked in with a clipboard in hand.

“Sir, you have back-to-back meetings today,” Jefferson said, scanning the list.

“You’ve been postponing a lot of them, and now they’re all piling up.”

Ryan sighed and leaned back in his chair. “Just reschedule some of them, Jefferson. I’m not in the mood for a long day.”

Jefferson hesitated. “I’ve already moved things around as much as I can. You have to attend at least three of them today, no excuses.”

Before Ryan could respond, a knock came at the door. His secretary popped her head in.

“Sir, your mother is here to see you.”

Ryan groaned under his breath.

If his mother was here unannounced, it only meant one thing—trouble.

He glanced at Jefferson, who looked like he was relieved to leave the room.

“Let her in,” Ryan muttered.

Mrs. Winters entered the office with her usual graceful poise, but the tight expression on her face told Ryan she meant business.

She took a seat across from him and folded her hands on the desk.

“Mom,” Ryan greeted, forcing a smile.

“What brings you here?”

Mrs. Winters didn’t return the smile. Instead, she gave him a pointed look.

“Ryan, what’s going on with you and Kate?”

Ryan stiffened. “What do you mean?”

“You know exactly what I mean,” she said firmly.

“Kate tells me you barely see her anymore. She feels like you’re avoiding her.”

Ryan sighed, rubbing his temple. “Mom, I’ve been busy with work. That’s all there is to it.”

“Don’t lie to me, Ryan,” Mrs. Winters pressed.

“I know my son, and I know when you’re hiding something.”

Ryan leaned back, frustration building.

“Kate is overthinking things. I love her, okay? But work has been hectic lately. She needs to understand that.”

Mrs. Winters shook her head. “You were never too busy for her before. Something has changed, and I want to know what it is.”

“Nothing has changed, Mom,” Ryan insisted, though even he didn’t believe his own words.

Mrs. Winters eyed him carefully, then sighed.

“Fine. But you should go home early tonight. Kate is making dinner for you at her place, and I don’t want you to disappoint her.”

Ryan opened his mouth to object, but one look at his mother’s determined face told him it was pointless. “Alright,” he muttered reluctantly.

Satisfied, Mrs. Winters stood up, smoothed down her dress, and said, “Don’t make her wait too long, Ryan. She loves you, and I hope you realize that before it’s too late.”

With that, she walked out, leaving Ryan feeling even more frustrated than before.

He let out a heavy sigh, running a hand through his hair.

Meanwhile, at Kate’s apartment, she sat on the couch with a glass of wine in her hand, tapping her fingers impatiently against the glass table.

Across from her sat the private investigator she had hired, his face grim.

Kate’s heart pounded in anticipation.

“So? What did you find out?”

The man slid a folder across the table. “Ryan didn’t go home last night after dropping you off.”

Kate’s eyes narrowed. “Then where did he go?”

“To Serena’s house,” the investigator replied bluntly. “And he didn’t leave until this morning.”

Kate’s grip tightened around the wine glass, and in a fit of rage, she slammed it against the table, shattering it into pieces.

“That bastard!” she hissed, standing up abruptly.

“He was with her all night?”

The investigator nodded. “Yes. From my observations, they’re seeing each other frequently.”

Kate’s hands curled into fists. “After everything I’ve done for him… after all these years… he still goes back to her?”

The investigator remained silent, knowing better than to interrupt her fury.

Kate began pacing back and forth, her mind racing with thoughts. “She took him from me once, but I won’t let it happen again. I swear I won’t.”

The investigator cleared his throat. “There’s more. I feel Ryan is the one forcing himself on her...”

Kate’s lips curled into a sinister smile. “Is that so? Well, let’s see how long that lasts.”

The investigator shifted uncomfortably in his seat. “What do you want me to do?”

Kate took a deep breath, trying to compose herself.

“For now, keep watching them. I need to know everything—where they go, who they meet. And I’ll take it from there.”

The man nodded and stood up. “I’ll update you soon.”

After he left, Kate slumped onto the couch, running a hand through her hair.

Her mind was already spinning with plans—plans to make sure Serena never got another chance with Ryan.

“I’ll destroy everything she’s worked for,” she muttered under her breath. “If I can’t have him, no one can.”

Later that night, Ryan sat in his car outside Kate’s house, staring at the lights glowing inside. He knew Kate was waiting for him.

He sighed, his mind still replaying the events of the morning.

Serena’s words haunted him—‘You have no right to question me.’

The way she dismissed him, the way she refused to answer his questions, it all drove him crazy.

Finally, he stepped out of the car and walked inside.

Kate was in the kitchen, setting the table, dressed in a figure-hugging dress that left little to the imagination.

“You’re late,” she said, forcing a smile. “I made your favorite.”

Ryan nodded stiffly. “Sorry, work held me up.”

They sat down and began eating in silence.

Kate kept trying to make conversation, but Ryan’s responses were short and distracted.

“Ryan,” she finally said, placing her hand on his. “I feel like we’re drifting apart. I miss us.”

Ryan looked at her, guilt creeping in. “It’s just work, Kate. I promise.”

“Then stay the night,” she said softly. “I miss being with you. I’ve missed your hands hovering around my body.”

Ryan hesitated, then shook his head. “I have an early meeting tomorrow. I should go home and rest.”

Kate clenched her jaw but forced a smile. “Okay. I understand.”

Ryan sighed in relief and stood up. “Thanks for dinner, Kate. It was great.”

He leaned in to kiss her cheek, but Kate turned her head, catching his lips instead.

Ryan stiffened, but he didn’t pull away immediately. When he did, he forced a smile.

“I’ll see you soon,” he said before leaving.

As soon as the door closed, Kate’s expression darkened.

“This isn’t over, Ryan. I’ll split you both apart!” she whispered, her eyes burning with rage.
