The Tripartite Mate Bond Chapter 114: CHAPTER HUNDRED AND FOURTEEN
After a long amount of searching through my many clothes, I finally picked up a pair of jeans and a gray turtleneck top with short sleeves. I was going for as simple as possible, I wanted him to focus on my face.
The confidence my mates had driven into me were beginning to work and I knew what to do.
I needed answers and he was going to give it to me before he left this world.
We all went around the closet getting physically ready but my mind was on overdrive, thinking of questions and probable scenarios and how I would respond to them.
I really wished I didn't have to deal with this but I didn't have a choice. The man ruined my childhood and he wasn't getting away with it. I'll take this chance at closure once and for all.
I honestly just wanted all of this to be over as quickly as possible.
Finally done with everything even though I kept looking for something else to do to delay and give myself more time to prepare, I walked out to my mates who were waiting for me with a kind smile.
The both of them standing side by side still gave me shivers. They looked so much alike and I made a mental note to go to NightShade Pack. I haven't seen my mother-in-law in a long time.
“You look like a young detective ready to solve hard cases,” Axel joked, making me smile.
“I wanted to feel ready even though I really I'm not,” I whispered, feeling vulnerable in that moment,”
Ares held my hand and put a lock of my hair behind my ear.
“We'll be with you all through, Mama. And if he tries anything funny, he can kiss this world goodbye,” he assured me.
“That's right. No one messes with our queen. Now let's go kick some ass,” Axel said as he shook my shoulders and we laughed as left the comfort of the place I'd finally been able to call home.
We walked out of the penthouse into the elevator and I was in Ares 's arms as we rode down.
We met Kane who was handling some security issues as we got to him.
“Randack every house, room, cell, no matter who lives in there and what their rank is. I don't care but immediately you see anything unusual, call my attention to it,” we heard him instruct the warriors.
“Yes Alpha. Good morning Luna,” they greeted me as well before going to do their duties.
“What's happening?” I asked him. He was smart to keep a distance away from me as I was still pissed at him. I just knew how to compartmentalize my emotions from my years as an abused child. Couldn't go out into the world looking glum and sad and attracting attention now, can I?
“Took you guys long enough,” he grumbled before walking off and we followed.
“Someone sounds jealous. I bet you could hear her moans as we made her cum over and over again. Unlike you who decided to piss her off for no just reason other than your selfishness,” Axel tore into him mercilessly and Kane, always the reactive werewolf turned and grabbed his shirt, his brown wolf pouring into his features even though he was still standing as a man.
“Brothers, let's not do this right now, okay? Our mate is already in a lot of emotional distress so please, put your claws away,” Ares spoke to them and for a moment, it felt like he was their elder brother or something.
“He started it!” Kane bellowed, struggling to control his angry wolf.
“I wouldn't have had to start it if you treated her right. You think belittling her will make her stay? She's not a bird you can cage in your little cave!” Axel was more pissed about last night than he actually let on.
“You're talking as if you've never hurt her before but since the day you met her, that all you've done and she keeps forgiving you. My first mistake and you're acting like you're so perfect,”
“Shut up! The both of you! Why do you have to be such selfish pricks? Our mate is about to confront the boogeyman of her entire livelihood, can't you keep your dick measuring contest for another day? You know what? Give me the keys, you both can go to the boxing ring and figure your shit out!” He commanded.
Kane was looking at him in shock and confusion.
“I wasn't asking,” Ares reiterated, his hands stretched, to which Kane handed over the keys to him with an angry huff.
“Fine!” He growled and walked away angrily.
“He's such an overgrown child,” Axel commented but Ares wasn't having it
“You're no different from him and I mean it. If you both won't be able to keep your emotions aside for her right now, fuck off. I don't want to have to fight you on something so straightforward,”
“I'm sorry, you're right. This wasn't the right time and I hate how I handled that. I'm sorry Princess. I'll actually go to the gym to cool off, you guys go ahead,” Axel gave in.
Then he kissed my lips before jogging off to the gym while I and Ares head to the dungeons.
It was at the back of the pack house and we had to pass through a very narrow path before getting to the small building which honestly looked like a miniature safehouse.
We walked in and the first thing that hit me was the stench.
There was a long hallway with several cells lining the left and right of the dungeon.
Although the hallway was neat, I doubt the contents of these cells made it a duty to keep it squishy clean.
“What's that smell?” I wondered out loud and to my shock, people began calling for me from the cells and I ran into Ares arms immediately, fear enveloping me.
“Luna, please help me, I didn't do it!” one starved looking woman cried, reaching out to me but he pushed me forward
“I WANT TO FUCK YOU HARD!” a haggard looking man screamed as we walked by and predictably, Ares reached into the cell through the iron gates that had square holes and he forcefully bashed his head against the iron.
The man fainted.
“Sorry about that, I hate people like that,”
“Wait, was that Dante?” I asked, suddenly remembering why the voice sounded familiar.
“Yes. Kane was been using him as an outlet for his frustrations when you were gone. I guess he broke the idiot,”
We finally got to the end of the hallway and it didn't smell as bad over here. In fact, the walls were white and the man behind the iron door wore a white shirt and shorts, his body chained to the ground.
He looked up at me and the eyes that had haunted my entire childhood stared back at me, a cruel smile, one I'd recognize anywhere greeted me back.
“Ready, Mama?” Ares asked as he opened the irom doors for me.
“No better time than now,” I answered, coating myself I'm fake bravado.
