The Tripartite Mate Bond Chapter 91: CHAPTER NINETY-ONE

The immense desire to teleport made my driving as fast as possible, and thankfully, we were the only cars on this path which was highly unusual considering it led to the main city in the supernatural world.

As we got closer, I could feel tethers of lives being snapped as my pack members died one by one. I was holding back tears at this point but I knew I had to fake being strong as I was in the midst of strangers.

Brian had asked to take over too many times but I couldn't stop for a second. I wanted to, no, I needed to get home as soon as possible. If anything happened to her, well I'm satisfied we're all dying together because there's nothing I'll be doing on this planet without her.

We passed two more packs with the same condition but we didn't bother checking it out, the smell of death was proof enough that there was a boogeyman on the prowl, decimating packs like it was child's play.

I had gotten through to Ares and he was also on his way with reinforcement but he mentioned that this was just like the time his pack had been attacked.

This made sense as to why no one was able to defeat them considering their powers were unmatched.

Finally, after four hours of reckless driving, we finally got close to my pack's borders and I could hear the snarls and screams that were only possible due to a full blown out battle. I really hoped my pack was holding up a little bit better, I had put some protection in place when I had gotten back from helping NightShade defeat the initial attack. Ares had told the council about it but they dismissed his reports as dramatic.

I immediately parked close to the territory, being smart enough to realize we shouldn't walk into the fray, unprepared.

“Aurora? Which of the safehouses are you in?” I asked, prodding at the connection that linked our minds.

“Safe House? Fuck -” she grumbled and I paused as she got back balance to respond to me.

“I'm not in the safehouse babe, it's only fire that can kill these mutts and there are so many of them. Look, we need to lure them to the amphitheater because I can't keep this up, a lot of pack members are dead, Kane,” she said, grunting as she fought what must be a lot of rogues.

Her response chilled me to my bones. Aurora was delicate, gentle and warm. The idea of her in the middle of a battle terrified me in a crazy way but I knew never to underestimate her ever since we discovered what she can do.

“Look, I've communicated with my pack and they said only fire works so I need Jimmy to do me a favor. Look, there are indeed dragons and if my guess is correct, they're the only way we get to navigate these dark times,” I started, addressing the men that gathered around me.

“So why lie about it? You know the danger they pose right? Chaos in the entire realm because everyone will be trying to get control of it. An unclaimed dragon is dangerous!” Edwin reacted, his face betraying his true intentions.

“Well, that is the second part. The dragons aren't unclaimed. One of them is tethered to my mate and the three of us will protect her with our lives so don't go getting any ideas,”

“Damn, there are two of them? Where did they grow and how come no one ever noticed it?” Jimmy asked, excitement filling his form.

“Now's not the time for questions! My pack is being massacred in there and the only way to kill those bastards is by fire so you all need to help me herd those rogues to their own death, okay? What can we use to attract them? I need ideas, my mind is rancid with thousands of thoughts and fears. My mate is in the middle of that war, fighting rogues, oh good goddess,” I exclaimed, holding back by a thread.

“Alpha, the whole pack can fake a retreat towards the direction. We'll chase them from here as well, what do you think?” Brian said and I remembered why he was my Delta, his father was versed in battle tactics and he learnt perfectly.

“Thank you so much Brian. Edwin and Jimmy, get to making torches that we can use to light them on fire and make sure that car is locked. That bastard isn't escaping again,” I growled and they looked at me in confusion but I was already releasing a widespread message across the entire pack.

“DarkMoon! Retreat to the amphitheater at the end of the third safe house. Your Luna knows how to get it open. There's a path out of it as well, the moment the last person leaves, lock the rogues in there and let the dragons roast them to death!” I commanded them, and upon hearing my voice, loud howls rang in the air, signaling a ray of hope for us for tonight, we survive and our enemies shall perish.

As I turned back to my present environment, Jimmy and Eddie already lit a blazing torch as well as Brian who handed me one. As we ran to the pack, my wolf filling me nervous but solid strength, my thoughts were one of gratitude.

I was the luckiest man on earth to have such a powerful and intelligent mate who took her Luna position to heart. Each time I saw her go to her office, I knew she was perfect for the pack and now, she was not only defending them in battle when she could have run into the safe house, a perfect excuse in place, but she stood her ground, fought off the rogues and she thought of this great idea to finally eliminate the rogues.

When we got to the pack gates, the sight before us was heartbreaking.

The front of the huge gate was filled with the ash that we saw in the previous packs but not as much and it smelt quite different.

“I think they ran away at the sound of your voice, abandoning the rogues they brought to slaughter. Something is wrong, Kane. Over eight packs have been slaughtered and more are being massacred. What is the cause of this?” I turned at the voice of Ares who was wearing shorts, a huge amount of warriors behind him.

“We saw some of them along the way. Tell your men to shift and wear something. This is not a normal battle. Only fire can kill them. That's what Aurora said, she's nearly burnt out so we need to hurry,” I explained to him and his pack immediately began shifting, following my instructions.

The warlock instructed them all to find sticks and he lit the torches.

His magic kept it from burning up.

“Guys, be careful. We don't want to burn the pack down. Just herding them in the direction of the amphitheater. Just follow me and Alpha Ares,” I instructed and as I went in, I whispered the secret code of our witch, allowing everyone to enter.

Then we began to chase the rogues as they chased after my pack.
