The Tripartite Mate Bond Chapter 83: CHAPTER EIGHTY-THREE

I know I was supposedly born to bond with Lyra and fly with her all our days but I don't think I'm ready right now.

The moment I got down from the harness, I doubled over and vomited my guts.

“Weakling! How on earth the fate of the world lies on your shoulder is beyond me!” Flynn growled at me, making me feel worse than my flight but in response, Lyra flicked him away angrily with her tail.

“Don't you dare belittle her again Flynn Anderson! I see how you treat her and I expected you to think twice before doing right in my presence but you obviously are too confident in this role. I will inform the queen you are due for a replacement!” She roared and I could see her holding back the fire in her belly, her throat red as coal.

I've never seen this side of her, considering she's always so sweet with me.

I felt so much peace that someone was finally standing up for me and she was a fire breathing dragon.

“I'm sorry, your highness. I was way over my head and I didn't consider what she truly needed. I will return immediately for replacement,” he bowed and ran off.

“Don't ever let a mere man treat you like trash. He is to be your servant, not the other way around.” Added Scarlett in her special way of talking and I was more at peace than I had ever been in my life.

“Lyra, will you ever have to return home?”

“Only with you flying with me. Staying away from you all these years cost me a great deal and I would not be doing that again,”

“But Kane is going to the council to straight up lie to them. What if he doesn't succeed and they come here and find you guys?”

She sighed and her sister replied for her.

“We are ready for war, little one. We just want to avoid it as much as possible as we have learnt that it's quite unwise to take such a perilous path. Millions of years of memories lost to death and destruction. But if that is the route they choose, we will give it to them. But don't worry, your mate is an expert at negotiation, he will succeed. He must.”

“Indeed. If we waste our resources fighting each other, we will be at a loss when the real threat comes.” Lyra added, puffing out smoke from her nostrils.

I was sitting on her leg as we spoke and before I could ask more questions, Kane asked of my whereabouts through the link.

“Why do you suddenly act like you care?” I replied back in irritation. He was literally popping my zen right now. I didn't want to deal with any of them.

“I'm sorry for not telling you about my brother, okay? I was going to, I just never had a chance to and he's a sore topic honestly. I didn't expect him to show up so soon. Look, why don't you come so we can talk a little bit before I set off for the Midlands. I won't have us departing on such sour terms. Anything you want, you can ask me and I'll tell you everything, I promise,” he said, his voice piercing through my mind and the well of anger I had stored.

“Go. I can feel his sincerity and he's right, you will miss him more if you don't make up before he travels.,” Lyra said encouragingly and I nodded.

I pecked her scales and went to do the same for Scar but she was a grumpy beast as usual so I waved to her, laughter flourishing out of me.

“One day, you'll let me. I'll keep trying,” I yelled at her as I ran through the grounds, going out the way I came into the mega amphitheater.

When I got to the pack house, I walked into a sight that set my bones on fire.

Elena has her hands around Axel's neck and the sick brat had the audacity to smile at me while at it.

Thankfully, the power pearls were on my arm and if anyone mistakenly touched it, they were going to be zapped to death with how overcharged they were with my anger.

But my common sense prevailed.

I bailed out of there, canceling Axel from my mind.

Even though he was calling after me, I ignored him and thankfully, the elevator closed right before he got a chance to enter.

I knew he was running up the stairs to the penthouse but I was stopping a floor lower, at Kane's office.

I didn't need his pitiful explanations. If he wanted her, he could have her but the two of us? Never!

I walked into Kane's office and I met his Beta and Ares there.

“My love, I know I offended you but you are kind of burning up right now. We dated your heat last night, right Ares?” Kane asked, drawing me into his arms.

I half expected him to let me go immediately but he endured the heat and began kissing my neck in a bid to calm me down.

“What is it baby? Talk to us,” Ares added, his hands massaging my scalp like I always loved.

“It's Axel and Elena. They are openly flirting with each other right in front of me! If he wants her so bad, he should cut me off and not subject me to the pain of seeing them together!” I poured out, my head light with the insane amount of anger it contained.

“Baby, I'm sure there's a problem somewhere but before we deal with that, allow us to calm you down okay? You are pretty heated up. Besides, he'd be a complete fool to hurt you in any way. The goddess gifted you to us for a lot of reasons and one of them is how perfect you fit in between the three of us,” Ares said as they successfully turned me to mush in their hands, their touch erasing all the pain and anger I'd been feeling.
