The Tripartite Mate Bond Chapter 168: CHAPTER HUNDRED AND SIXTY-EIGHT

We spent the next few hours drafting out the reallocation of werewolf lands across the survivors of the war.

It was an intimate meeting of my mates and I, Elena, who was now officially our Beta Female, the pack Delta who I hadn't gotten the chance to meet with until this morning and Lyra in our minds. She hasn't stopped sulking about my recent life decisions but she knew this was important and the dragons needed adequate representation too.

“Princess, what do you think of this? If a pack is over a hundred wolves, people have to move to other less populated areas,” Axel said as we looked at the numbers.

“What about security? Being just hundred in a pack is like an invitation for trouble,”

“There can be regional Alphas so when there's a dispute, they can resolve it without you having to bear the brunt of the work and if they can't do anything about it, then you'll be consulted. Also, in a case of external attacks, there'll be a bigger army to help with the defense. This whole thing wouldn't have escalated to entire packs being wiped out if there was a synergy between packs,” I explained, shaking my head at the loopholes the previous system had.

“That's quite brilliant. But I'm also worried about the dragons. I've known Scarlett for the past five years and that insane drive for power and control can only be stilled by a good rider. We've seen how the dragon kin that are here with us treat werewolves. How do we balance that out?” Elena raised an important question.

“I did a lot of historical research before I became Alpha and where everything went wrong was when our ancestors gave power to an already too powerful race. It's like the humans and their nuclear weapons madness. Just imagine giving all the weapons to one country and still giving them control of the world,” Ares explained and I had to give my pussy stern warnings to not corrupt the air with the scent of arousal as his nerdy side was in full view. “The impact was instant and everyone began crying. So I suggest we do the opposite this time around. Dragons are supposed to be our collective strength and every park, coven or clan will have their own dragons. Since they're inherently smarter than us, they will reduce cases of conflict,” he finished and it took me a second to realize we both thought about the same thing even though he was asleep when I did.

We threw ideas around, everything that had been an issue presented for dissecting, and drafting something we could present to the Pack elders. Then before the coronation happens, all sectional leaders, vampires, witches and others would be presented with it as well to determine the future of the supernatural world.

It was evening when we finally had a working fifty page file for the meeting and I could see the happiness on people's faces as we realized how important we were to the future of our species. We'd rescued our future generations from the clammy, incompetent hands of the council and hopefully, we impact the same sense of responsibility on our children so they don't spoil everything. Monarchy isn't a joke and in the wrong hands, it could be destroyed.

“Are you sure these vampires will be okay with just playing second fiddle? Only having members in the council and not the main seat of power?” Elena voiced out as we prepared to leave the meeting room. It was right next to the Alpha's office and had long, comfortable couches for everyone.

“The only way they can be a part of us is if we marry them. Everyone of us here is mated so they'll have to deal with it. It's their fault for playing games with our lives. I mean, what if our mate and Luna hadn't risked her life to save us? She nearly died!” Ares exclaimed, the whole situation still pissing him off.

If only he knew that I'd actually died and I was just saying goodbye in the best way possible. Or so I believe, because somehow, it just feels like I'm a coward and running away from their reactions. Ares would probably throw away everything he'd worked for to try and find solutions for me to be able to have both worlds but I couldn't do that to him.

I guess when I am gone, he'll take the vampire princess who was actually a hybrid as his new mate. That'll even put everything.

As we filed out of the room, I suddenly felt that stupid urge to vomit again and I quickly ran into Ares' office toilet.

When I got out, even though he was swamped with more work and people, I could see the look of concern on his face. I gave him a smile and went to look for Axel. I was feeling hungry and craving lasagna that he'd made for me once. It tasted different, I just didn't know how to explain it to the cook and that was all I wanted at that moment.

He wasn't in his office so I went out of the pack house, and was about heading to the house. I didn't want to use my mindlink for anything, Lyra’s angry eyes scaring me a little bit. It was the disappointment that stung the most and I was not ready to deal with it at all so I decided to walk.

But as I stepped out of the pack house, a guard rushed up to me. He was wearing the uniform for territory guards and I was wondering why he was coming to me instead of his Alphas.

“Hey Roman, what's up?”

“Good evening Luna, there's a lady at the pack entrance demanding to see you. She said her name is Cora,”

“Oh, that's strange. Let her in,”

As I waited for them, I was wondering what made Cora travel all the way out here to see me. I'd hoped to see her on the day of the coronation and I was sure she was aware of the same thing so what was she doing all the way here?

I watched as she walked towards me, her face looking distraught and I ascribed it to her altercation with the border guards.

That was until she got to me and her words were of the craziest things.

“I'm sorry Aurora, but you need to come back!” She exclaimed as she got closer to me, not even bothering with pleasantries or something.

“Hi Cora, how are you doing?” I said coolly, taking her hands so we could go to my house.

“He's destroying everything, the entire pack is nearly in shambles because he won't get over you!” She shouted, her voice filled with panic and mild accusation. Well, probably not mild considering the look on her face.

“Look, I can hear you but I don't think I understand a tiny bit of what you're saying so come with me to the house, I'll give you some water and you can calmly tell me everything. Starting from the beginning, deal?”

She considered it for a few seconds, her face going through the motions before she agreed.

Whatever her brother was doing, it troubled her deeply because immediately that glass of water was in her hands, she opened up like a faucet.
