The Tripartite Mate Bond Chapter 134: CHAPTER HUNDRED AND THIRTY-FOUR

I had no idea what I was going into but I felt confident in my plan, at least, if everything went accordingly.

The only problem was I didn't know how Lyra and Tharros were going to fly with me, undetected but I decided to trust her to figure that part out. I just hated how I was springing this up on her. I'll just tell her to go through my mind so she could see where I'm coming from, only she could understand me now.

As we drove, I finally sent the text message to Axel, hoping it gives them a little bit of peace and they don't go crazy with theories and all of that. I have a feeling they'll come after me but I hope to have finished everything before they find me. Thankfully, there was nothing connecting us again and they'll only find me if I want them to. I'll just figure a way to leave little breadcrumbs that'll lead to my location.

The second we drove within reasonable distance to DarkMoon, I opened My mind to link with Lyra.

“Hey girl, how are you doing?” I asked, trying to be cheerful or something. I felt her start in surprise at my voice and I felt really sad for us.

She had also lost her baby too and I didn't know what to expect.

“Aurora? What happened? Where are you?” She asked and I could sense her looking around for me.

“It's a long story so if you have the energy, quickly go through my mind, okay?”

She didn't waste time doing that, quickly browsing through the sad memories of the past two weeks while Flynn drove us across the territory of my former Mate.

It still felt weird not feeling that pull that always drove us to each other as mates and I sighed heavily.

I didn't like the direction my life had taken and how powerless I felt even though there was so much fire inside of me.

“Are you sure? I don't think it's smart driving into danger without knowing what we're actually facing,” Lyra said to me after she'd finished reading my thoughts.

“But how else are we ever going to find them? If I take an army with me, they'll definitely not let me anywhere close to their boss, just the long line of backstabbers who I'm surrounded by. But this way, I can survey everything and if it's more than me, Elena will go back and get reinforcement,” I explained to her but I could tell she didn't like this and we were already going quite far from the pack and I feared I'd lose the connection to her soon enough.

“I don't like this one bit. You can't put yourself in danger for these people. The man you are so in love with and had to take a break from us currently fucking someone else and you're endangering your life for him?” She reprimanded me, her tone harsher than I've ever heard.

I gulped, my heart taking a huge blow from the impact of her words.

“Kane is with someone else?”

“Yes and who knows what the others are doing as well. It's not too late to change your mind,” she snapped, obviously angry at his actions.

I refused to dwell in the heartbreak that lay behind this development, the knowledge that without the bond, I meant nothing to him and he could just move on so soon. It was nerve wracking but I couldn't let Flynn notice I was having a full on conversation with my dragon.

He might figure it out himself considering I'd specifically asked him to come this way but that's why Lyra wouldn't come after us right away and she'll wait till we're a good deal away from DarkMoon before coming.

Nevertheless, her words made me very sad and confused.

“But I'm not doing this for them, I just want to..” I couldn't even get the words out, tears pouring out of my soul.

“I understand you, but we can do this another way, okay? Come back and we'll plan this properly,” she told me and I nodded

“Maybe you're right, I'm rushing into this irrationally,”

“Just come back, okay? We'll have our revenge but we will have more than that. We'll crush their strength and make sure they don't make anyone shed a single tear again,” she assured me

I was going to reply to her but the line was breaking due to how far we'd gone.

“Elena, can you drive?” I asked her in our bond.

“Yes, what's up?”

“Lyra wants me to come back so we can plan this properly and I don't think our driver here is gonna be happy with that,” I informed her and I could see the sigh of relief in her eyes.

Maybe Zelda was right and this was a suicide mission but I didn't see any other way out but considering Lyra has thousands of memories about wars and tactics from generations past, it seemed the smartest thing to listen to her. I was angry, not stupid.

“Okay, tell him you need to pee so I can tie him back up,” she said and I nodded.

“Flynn?”

“Hm?” He answered absentmindedly, his concentration on driving.

“I need to pee really badly, can you find somewhere to pack?” I asked, my voice gentle. I didn't want him to figure out what was happening.

Besides, Elena was already doing her chants and I didn't need him to figure out anything..

“We're in the middle of nowhere, you're not gonna see houses or a toilet anywhere for another hour or more,”

“I don't mind doing it in the bushes, I'm really pressed,” I insisted.

“That might be a little bit difficult. This area isn't safe one bit. Can you hold it in for a few more hours?” He suggested, making me swallow a deep spurt of fear.

“Hours? You do realize I'm bleeding, right? I need to pee so badly, I've been holding it in for a while,” I beseeched, hoping this wouldn't get dramatic.

He sighed deeply.

“Fine, if you insist but I won't be held responsible for anything that happens. This is the worst place for us to pack,’

And I could see his point, the entire length of the road was surrounded by a thick forest but it was perfect for what we needed.

“I'll be fast,” I told him and he still kept driving.

“Flynn!” Elena called in a warning tone.

“Bitch chill, I need to find somewhere that has a shroud!” He snapped at her and I had to hold her back from reacting.

He drove for another three minutes before finally packing somewhere on the road and I quickly opened the door and came out.

I was actually pressed but not enough to be stopping in the middle of nowhere but Flynn didn't need to know that so I ran to the back of the car while he and Elena sat back in their seats.

“El, you done?” I asked her, hoping I didn't distract her from her words.

“Give me a minute,” she replied back and I stayed where I was even though I was done peeing.

“What's keeping you?” Flynn asked and I could feel the tension in his voice.

“Give me a minute!” I yelled back, hoping Elena would hurry up but I knew I couldn't say anything to distract her.

Suddenly I heard a rustle in the bushes and I jumped out of fright.

It was getting darker at this point so I didn't even see anything.

The more terrifying thought was that I didn't hear any animals talking. This was a large forest so I was expecting some sort of back and forth from animals like I usually heard anywhere outside of normal pack settlements in the supernatural world but it was dead silent.

“Elena..” I called, hoping to get this over and done with before something else happened.

I wish I'd still had the connection to Lyra because even though I could fight, I literally just had a miscarriage. I wasn't strong enough to fight a large number of people, my power wasn't even fully back yet.

“I'm almost done,” Elena finally replied and I could hear Flynn get antsy in his seat.

Elena didn't finish as quickly as I wanted and I just knew we had to try another tactic as this wasn't gonna work so I stood up and was about to walk back to the car when I felt a strong hand on my shoulder,”

“Don't move!”

And then I screamed
