The Tripartite Mate Bond Chapter 88: CHAPTER EIGHTY-EIGHT

In a few seconds, everyone began following a routine that I wasn't even aware of.

The old people and children began running towards the shelters and were protected by some guards while everyone else began shifting into their forms.

Jayden didn't shift, instead he was trying to get me to safety.

“No, I won't go into hiding with this power of mine while the pack is attacked,” I vehemently refused, taking my power pearl and handing it over to Elena who ran into the dining hall with bottles of potions.

“Here, you know what to do with them, right?” I asked her, our previous issues on hold. This was a life or death situation and even though Lyra was itching to join us, walking around in my head, we needed to do as much as possible to avoid revealing them.

“Yea sure. Just release them as they only work with your blood,” she said.

“Jayden, go. I can hear the men at the border getting over powered. Something about the rogues not dying,” I pushed him out of the door.

Axel ran to me, blood stains on his naked body.

“Something is awfully wrong, babe. It feels like the war we fought in my pack. I've sent for Ares but I doubt we can hold off before they get here. You need to go and hide. The both of you. Wolves fight dirty,” he commanded, but I could hear the fear in his voice.

“Don't worry about me, love. You need to go back out there and do whatever you can to make sure we win. And besides, we have a witch and two dragons, we've got this,” I told him, and I hugged him tightly, feelings of fear and concealed strength emanating from him.

“Are you sure? You know you can protect yourself and no one would dare blame you, right?”

“Yes but I want to help. I need to, babe. What is the use of having so much power if my people die on my watch while I hide away like a coward? I've been afraid all my life but I'm done being that girl. They will die at my hands tonight,” I told him, and I guess he saw the determination in my eyes because he nodded and kissed my forehead before wolfing out and quickly running to the pack borders.

I hoped Ares made it in time for reinforcement. I was scared of having to bring out the dragons. Not just because of the fear of revealing them to the council but also the amount of damage they would cause. This wasn't a very large pack like NightShade so in two or three powerful flaps, the dragons would probably cover everything in flames. We weren't ready for that type of damage so it made sense to keep them hidden instead but nobody said anything about me so I was going to give it my all.

I took a knife from Elena and cut my thumb, pouring it over the pearls and they began to glow a deep red color.

I grabbed Elena’s hand, tension thick in the air as an invisible bond forged in difficult times formed between us.

“Go stay with the dragons and do whatever you need to do, please. I really don't want to get burned out in the midst of rogues. That's a death sentence,” I stated and she nodded in response before running off.

I ran off into the middle of the pack Territory and looked around for anyone struggling to get to the safehouse but I guess that had been taken care of.

I then began running towards the border, shaking my hands to free it from tension and releasing my powers to my fingertips, ready to be used.

Immediately I got close, I saw the beasts that were sent against us, they looked terrible, dirty and they had spittle pouring out of their mouths.

These were no ordinary rogues and we could all feel it.

I began firing shots of flames into their bodies and watched them burn to death.

“Aurora, where are you?!” Axel screamed into my head, confusing me for a moment as I fired bolts of fire into the wolves that were attacking us.

I had run straight into the middle of the fray, killing as many deadly werewolves as I could. The problem was that I seemed to be the only one successfully killing them with the fire.

Attacks from my pack members only led to the rogue wolves temporarily dying and regaining their bodies again and I could feel the panic in the link.

“I'm close to the territory. Look, we might have to bring out the dragons, Axel. These rogues are not dying and the pack warriors are getting antsy, I can feel it,” I finally replied, killing another wolf with matted fur.

I was relieved the pack were finally focusing on the battle instead of my sudden abilities and I knew I would have to explain everything to them but for now, I needed a way to turn this battle around or we were going to be killed.

“Luna! The rogues are not staying dead!” someone frantically in my mind. I guess I mistakenly opened links to everyone and now I was hearing different screams from everyone, making me lose focus enough for a rogue to get too close to me.

“Luna! Watch out!” I heard a scream from Jay in my direction and I shrieked in surprise , and I lost control, releasing a large amount of fire, catching both sides. To my utmost horror and dismay, the fire meant for the rofues began killing my own wolves. The pain i felt as two pack members went up into flames drove me to tears and a rogue wolf jumped on me, it's dirty, contaminated teeth clamping on my feet. I quickly lit it up on fire but it had already done a huge amount of damage.

Shit!

This wasn't going well at all.
