The Tripartite Mate Bond Chapter 28: CHAPTER TWENTY-EIGHT

Ares had just told everyone that Axel once had a mate.

This shocked everyone in the room, especially me because no one had even hinted at it. It was hard to imagine keeping such a thing a secret, considering how much we've all been through together. I didn't even know how to react, I felt betrayed but then having to bring in the person responsible for his loss because of me seemed like I was causing him more grief.

“How did that happen? Wizards aren't that flaky especially with a werewolf involved.” Kane said.

“She wasn't a werewolf. She was a witch but she didn't bloom properly, she was always having crazy and weird accidents. One time she slept and woke up on the roof and didn't know how to get down. She got frostbite before we could get her down. When the situation got worse was when they fully mated. Her powers came in full but she had no control so my dad called Fang to help lock her powers until she underwent training by our affiliate witch” Ares explained to us. He paused and his hand went through his hair in frustration.

“Doctor Pascal, we need some privacy, could you come back at a later time?” Kane said, probably sensing that the conversation was about to get emotional or something. The Alpha was a strong and most important part of the pack and wasn't really allowed to be emotional in the open.

“I'm sorry, I should have gone since. Let me fix her up with this quickly, I'll be back to discharge her in the evening” he said, putting an IV in the back of my hand and promptly leaving.

I took a deep breath and watched my hand start healing quickly before returning my attention to the men.

“He began the ritual and in the process, she began to feel pain. I was telling him to stop but he said he couldn't stop midway and he couldn't undo it either because she'd be deformed. I didn't know what to do or how to feel as I watched her scream her lungs out in pain. It got to a point where I couldn't take it anymore so I screamed at him. He lost concentration and I don't know what happened, but she couldn't breathe anymore. I was devastated” Axel finished the story, sobs wracking his form.

I couldn't control my own feet as I ran to him and held him tightly, his pain hurting me as well. I didn't care for the sparks and I honestly didn't mind it but I rubbed his back while he cried.

“He has never been able to grieve for her since it happened until now. This is amazing” Ares said, while he placed his hand on his brother's shoulder in support.

Axel had stopped sobbing but he still held onto me like a lifeline and I swear I felt the mood shift in the room like physical clouds.

He was seated close to the bed when I went to meet him and he relaxed further into the chair, holding me tight.

I allowed him to hug me, I believed he needed it so he could calm down further but then, his touch was doing things to my body.

I couldn't explain the feeling but I felt a drop of wetness begin to pool in my pants and I heard a growl from Ares. It was so deep that it shook my body and I leaned deeper into Axel's body. This seemed to make my body decide to hire an orchestra and began playing strange tunes.

Kane coughed out loud and I turned around immediately. I looked at the two of them but their eyes were everywhere else and I watched Kane as he did an awkward shuffle that made it seem like he was about to be punished.

I do not know how my eyes left his broad shoulders and chest and traveled down but it did and I saw a bulge in his pants. I was a virgin but I wasn't dumb. This man was horny.

I guess that brought me back to my senses and I jumped away from Axel, my cheeks red hot in embarrassment.

“Um.. I don't think, I feel a little bit hungry, can I..” I stammered, looking for anything else to dispel the weird mood that hung over us.

“Baby, I don't think you know what you are hungry for” Axel told me, and that was when I noticed their eyes. The colors were not what they used to be and it made me… excited.

"Fuck! I wish you were here from the beginning. I hate your foster father for not letting you have a normal life" Kane growled, his voice guttural like he was in a different type of pain. All of this was making me hot.

I was flustered and confused, wondering what was going to happen. I didn't know how to turn off this heat and everywhere was spectacularly hot, I don't know what that doctor was saying earlier, I felt hot.

The twins seemed to suddenly realise whatever Kane had been rambling about and looked at me like they were in pain but it still turned me on. What was wrong with me? I wondered in my head.

Ares was the first to flee, his skin breaking into hairs and fur as he ran out of the door.

I was still in shock at his dramatic exit when Axel came up to my side. I guess he was in control of his emotions more than the rest because he didn't need for his eyes to switch colors before acting the way they were all acting.

“Princess, thank you for helping me grieve. I promise you, I'm fully ready for you to take over my heart” he said in my ear.

“Axel, back off. You should have thought about that before sleeping around while she was literally in the same pack as you. She's mine and once she's discharged, we are going to teach her the rejection process and I will take her home. She's mine now!” Kane reprimanded him, making Axel take a step back.

“What are you talking about? We've already marked her. Why are you talking about rejection?”

“Common, don't be dumb! You think I'll leave my mate connected to you all so you can have access to her all the time? Her mind, her body, her thoughts are not going to be accessible to you. You had your chance and you blew it so I will teach her how to reject you and I don't care how much pain you have to go through but it's all your fault for not protecting your borders. None of these would have happened if you had been strong enough!” Kane replied, his tone showing anger and all I could do was step back and watch their exchange.

“How do you expect us to do that? We literally just got back from the battle in your pack and we knew you wouldn't attack us anytime soon because of her. You can't blame this on us”

“Um, guys, can we calm down? All the screams are not really going to solve anything and I'm really, really hungry” I interrupted them before they'll start going for each other's necks.

“You are right, Princess. We will definitely find a way to resolve this. He is just letting his wolf influence his thoughts so when he gets control, we'll talk this out properly” Says Axel

“Funny enough, my wolf doesn't mind sharing. Now that I said that aloud, I feel lighter. It's been that way for a while now and I'm doing everything I can to stop it. You have fucked up and your brother is stuck in his past to see her fully so that leaves her to me. I'm giving you till tomorrow morning to come to terms with her being mine and mine alone” Kane told him, a resolute look on his face that suggested this wasn't open to discussion.
