The Tripartite Mate Bond Chapter 82: CHAPTER EIGHTY-TWO
“Wait, what?” I exclaimed, echoing the shock on everyone's face.
The thought that my mate had another family member that I wasn't aware of shocked me. I may not have known everything about him but this was a major thing, a whole person, and he didn't think to have mentioned it at some point.
“Yea, I thought we'd gotten rid of him but I guess he's back again. I'm sorry about all of this, babe. I'll get it sorted out before leaving,” he explained, pissing me off further and walking out hastily when I stopped him.
“Kane you can't just dump information like that without any sort of explanation. You have a half brother? How come I didn't know about him? What else don't I know about you?” I bit out in irritation. He was acting like it was such a tiny issue meanwhile, it was not.
He paused and gave me a confused look.
“But baby, I've explained everything. Look, I have to find him before he does something worse, okay? He's half wolf, half warlock and I don't want to imagine what other mischief he's currently up to, okay?” He replied and breezed away, leaving me dazed.
“Ares please tell me, am I overreacting or this is actually very annoying? He never mentioned anything about another family member and there's been ample opportunities for him to do that. Come to think of it, Cora never mentioned him either and what did they mean by “tried to get rid of him” like he's some evil spirit?” I rasped, anger culminating in my mind.
To make it worse, I look at Axel and the witch literally has her legs in between his and he's just sitting there, doing nothing about.
“I don't –” Ares began but I was too livid to pay attention to anything he was saying.
“What the fuck are you trying to do, Elena? And you, if you didn't want to be mine, why not say so? You know what? You both can have each other, I'm done with this shit!” I snapped and got up, walking away angrily amidst calls and shouts for my attention.
I ran back upstairs, using the staircase so I could remove a little bit of the anger swelling in me. I don't understand why everyone feels like they could just treat me like I was insignificant.
I ran into my room and changed into a pair of black tracksuit and my running shoes.
“Maybe you can come this way since you need to cool off, I'll direct you,” I heard Lyra's voice in my head and I began following her directions. I hadn't been able to see her since due to everything happening at once and this was the perfect opportunity. I needed space from everyone, besides, if they didn't see my importance, why stay?
As I ran out of the elevator, I bumped into someone, hard.
“Ouch! Watch where you are going!” I snapped before looking at who it was.
“Wait, aren't you the one Kane is looking for?” I asked, bewildered and I quickly sent him a message through our link.
The entire place was empty which was odd but I shook it off
“And who might you be, damsel?” He asked, a smirk on his face.
“Don't pretend like you don't know who I am, you sure were having fun trying to scare me with that filthy trick. Listen, next time you want to play that game, do it with your family members who love to keep secrets,” I bit out and turned to leave as Kane rushed in through the door.
“Hey, don't be like that, baby girl. It's just fun riling y'all up. Can't blame a man for trying to have a little fun,” he shouted to my receding form but I didn't care, nor did I give him and his brother any attention.
As I passed, Kane tried touching my arm but I swiped it away and kept running.
“Looks like you've got yourself a feisty one, little brother,” he says to Kane and he growls angrily in response and I tuned them out. I didn't care what they discussed, and I wasn't going to bother myself about it. My peace was important to me so I followed the smooth path till I got to the first place where I met the twins and I tried running away from them.
It occurred to me how much of the pack I hadn't explored.
When we weren't trying to hide from attacks, this place was being used as a farm and I saw pack members doing their rounds, harvesting vegetables.
“Luna, are you looking for someone?” Someone asked me after I waved at them.
“No, love. Just taking a stroll.” I replied with a smile as I went further away from them.
“There's a spot you have to step on three times before you can access here, give me your eyes so I can show you,” Lyra said and I nodded.
I loved the synergy between us, it made me feel invincible and I loved how much she trusted and cared for me.
Dragons were ancient and wise, their knowledge being passed down from generation to generation. In other words, once a mother hatches her eggs, she impacts her experiences as well as that of generations before her unto the next one. If Lyra were to share her vast knowledge with me, I fear I might run mad, it ran deep.
That was why I always ran to her for solutions.
I got to the spot she said and matched it three times as instructed and right before my eyes, a hole opened in the ground, stairs that led to a door were visible and I paused for a second before going in. I had expected everything to look rusty and old but it was recently cleaned up from the way it looked.
I opened the door and walked into the biggest amphitheater I'd ever laid eyes on with its center clearly decemated.
I walked into it, my mouth agape in shock. How they hid this for so long is still a shock to me. I wonder how they discovered it.
“Aurora, nice to see you too. I guess you're now too busy for us,” Scarlet said to me.
“I missed you too, Scar,” I said to her large, blue form as I walked closer to the center where they were perched.
I heard a sound at the entrance and I spinned around, noticing it was Flynn.
“Wow, that is so huge. How did you even manage to kill it?” I said in shock.
“I'm a seasoned hunter, Aurora. It's no big deal. What are you doing here?” He replied groggily as he dropped his kill before the two dragons and they dug in
Up close, they looked so massive. I was like a dwarf in their presence but I had to turn around as they chewed the buck in such a terrifying way.
“This is too temporary a solution. They are growing really fast and I can barely keep up with feeding them.” Flynn said as he stood watching them.
“I'll talk to Kane to see what he can do about it. It's a lot of work for just you.”
“I think you are ready to start learning how to fly. What do you think? It's just in here though, so don't get too excited,” Flynn says as he gets up to bring something that looks like a saddle.
But I was still stuck in my confusion.
“Ride? How?”
“On me, silly. What else?” Lyra said excitedly.
“But I'm not ready yet, what if I fall?” I exclaimed as Flynn laughed, getting the harness atop Lyra.
“I remember the first time Elena and I flew together, she nearly fell to her death,” Scarlett said, laughing.
“Wait, how is that supposed to make me feel better? Can't we like, do this some other time? I'm scared,”
“Don't worry, Aurora. I won't let you fall, I promise. Besides, didn't you ride your Mate last night?” Lyra says.
“Yes, but that's different. We're flying!”
“Come on, enough dilly dallying. I'll help you out, okay?” Flynn said as he beckoned on me to come closer.
Terrifyingly, I got closer.
Lyra bent slightly so I could climb and I tried a few times before I finally did.
With a deep breath and my heart beating erratically, I took a hold of the saddle and she began to lift off.
