The Tripartite Mate Bond Chapter 31: CHAPTER THIRTY-ONE

I looked at the three of us sitting in one space, going over the footage and it struck me. This is the first time the two packs have been in the same space in the last fifty years without wanting to tear each other to bits.

“First thing we need to do, Axel, is to eliminate all blind spots. We would have known who this was if there were lights everywhere” Kane commented.

“I'll order for that immediately” I said and picked up my phone and texted my gadgets supplier.

He will have everything set up before the end of the week

“One way or another, we'll figure out who it is but for now, we have to keep it under wraps. We must not alert the person to this information so we can catch them if they do it again” Ares added.

“That makes sense. I was thinking of scaring them out but this works better. I have a feeling they'll wait till everything settles before doing it again” I said.

“It's quite obvious the person wants you both taken out but we were in a coma for ten days, I wonder why they didn't try anything” says Kane

“That would be dumb of them. This is the only place you can control the security cameras. If anyone did anything, they would have been caught. I believe we will figure it out soon” I added, joining Ares to take a drink.

Kane was about to get up when my Ares stopped him.

“I know you coming to our aid was because of your wolf sensing that Aurora was in danger but you rescued her and you still stayed and helped us win this battle and I wanted to appreciate your help. I drew up this agreement” he said, bringing out some paperwork from his bag.

“Even though we have been at each other's throats for generations, the attack on you didn't seem normal. If I had let them finish you off, it might have solved an immediate problem but I obviously would be next on their list so there's no need to be grateful” Kane waved him off and I watched the exchange in confusion.

Ares never told me of any agreement whatsoever. We had our different departments in running the pack but we always ran ideas through each other. I filed my thoughts aside as he replied to him; I would definitely hash this out with him later, there's no need to do this in front of our archenemy turned, well, I really didn't know what he was to us right now.

“Well, we are grateful nonetheless and I drafted this so we can begin the process of burying the hatchet. The war between us has been drawn out long enough, don't you think it's time we put an end to it? Especially now that we are all mated to one woman and with such unknown forces on the horizon?” My brother asked.

We were both shocked.

This wasn't an easy decision to make, neither was it easy to implement. Our pack members may not have much of a choice but they have feelings and this might influence rebellion. Ares made this decision all by himself and I had half the mind to let him deal with the outcome but he's my twin, I couldn't.

Kane looked pale and shocked but then a look of distrust crossed his features.

“Is this a plot to make sure she is still tied to the two of you? I won't accept it. She's mine and that is final!” He bellowed.

Ares sighed.

“This has nothing to do with Aurora, I simply want an end to this strife. I may not be able to be a good mate for her but I can make an effort to end the war so she can have a peaceful life. She hasn't been in our world for a year and she has already witnessed two battles.”

“That's true. It's still in our best interest to leave things as they are. It's not like we can come to your pack unannounced.” I added, trying to subtly convince him to let the bond be.

“No. We are cutting it and there's nothing that can stop that” he said in a stern tone.

My twin was obviously not interested in our squabble as he was bent on choosing a sad life.

“This isn't the issue right now guys. We need to finalize the details of the peace. We –”

“Alpha, there's a problem” the doctor announced in our mindlink.

“What is it, doc?” I asked, sitting up in fear. If anything happened to her, I wouldn't survive it.

“Um, well…” he stammered

“Spit it out, Matt!” Ares roared, mirroring my fear.

“She's in heat, Alpha” he said and the look on our faces showed how bewildered we were.
