*AXEL'S POV

It's been days of searching through the forest where Elena told us they’d stopped at before Aurora got kidnapped and with each day that passed, we lost hope of ever finding her.

“Axel, is that Lyra?” My brother pointed in the direction of the three enormous birds flying towards us.

“Damn, I didn't believe Kane was telling the truth about her disappearance,” I replied, immediately giving orders in the mindlink for everyone to clear.

Elena ran as though she had an extra life to her dragon but I understood the need. If my wolf left me for even a day, I'd be crazy too.

“There's a reason why we needed Aurora to stop the war between us. No matter how hard he tries to hide, deep down he's just like his toxic father,” Ares said to me.

“I can't believe he moved on so fast, like won't his pack be upset or something? She's like, officially the best Luna they've ever had,”

“He's an Alpha, he leads, they follow. It's in their DNA,”

“I don't even want to imagine how hurt she'd be when she finds out about this. I mean, the bond drew us to her but we could never do better than Aurora. She's the best woman I've come across,” I expressed in exasperation.

I really don't know what he was thinking letting her go just like that.

“Anyways, it's his loss. We're not even going to disagree with it and I hope we can snap the bond back in place so he'll endure the torture of never having her again,” Ares says with a devilish smirk.

“You're crazy,” I playfully punched him, laughing as we got closer to the reunion happening.

“When did she get back?” Elena asked Lyra before remembering she can't get a reply from her.

So she turned back to her dragon who they begin having a whole other conversation in their minds while we watch with bated breaths

“Are you gonna interrupt this or..” Ares asked me, pointing at the two.

“Witchy girl, you've got an audience. Care to give us something here?” Chris asked her rudely.

I don't even know what's going on between the two of them but if you needed an atomic bomb pronto, you just need to put the both of them in a room together.

She gave him a smoldering look before turning back to us.

“Scarlett said she came back with her parents but they're not comfortable flying out in the open. So they're hoping we can find and bring back their daughter,” she explained.

“Oh, so now she's their daughter because they think they're about to lose her,” Ares hissed in annoyance.

“Yea, the award for the best parents ever won't go to them I fear. But they're right, we need to find Aurora before they hurt her. The army we saw was big,”

“Alpha! We found something!” A pack warrior, Jimmy called out and we ran over to see what he was talking about.

“Damn, she must be near hairless by now,” Elena said, examining the trail of fiery hair Aurora formerly had on her head.

“She left us a trail guys! Let's move!” Ares commanded and everyone got their groove on, hope finally blooming in us. The fact that my pack had been getting teased so many times with the idea of a perfect Luna like Aurora made them all the more determined to find her.

So as the dragons and Elena flew ahead of us, we ran in wolf forms, hoping by all means we weren't late. With the bond dissolved, we won't know if anything happens to her and that's why Zelda isn't going back to her coven anytime soon until she repairs it.

*AURORA’S POV

It's been three days since I got into this mess of a situation, and pretending to be the daughter my foster mother has always wanted was going to drive me crazy if I didn't combust from overusing my energy.

She's been using me to show her army that she was more powerful than they made her out to be, what with having a fire producing daughter and all. I've been lighting so many fires I might as well combust into flames.

“When are we going to leave?” Juno whispers as we walk behind the Queen of this camp as she toured everywhere to make sure everything is in place. Apparently, we were ready for battle, we just needed someone from the inside to give us the go ahead and from how her hands keep tapping her chin every five minutes, I could tell she was pissed about it. My foster mother was never the patient type, I would have had the scar of a smoldering iron at my back if I didn't heal so fast.

“We can't just sneak out of the camp when she's all over the place, Juno. You've endured her existence for goddess knows how long so you need to chill out so we can plan this properly,” I snapped at her. She didn't even account for the fact that the woman is supernatural and had very sensitive ears.

I was beginning to have second thoughts about her helping me but my options were quite limited. She knew the camp like the back of her hand, being Leticia’s right hand and all that so I can't escape without her help.

“Sorry,” she whispered, her eyes widening in realization of what she'd done.

“Aurora,” Leticia called me in that siren voice of hers.

“Yes mother,” I answered. Yea, it was either that or my hand got cut off; literally.

“I noticed you've never wondered what species your doting mother is. I wonder why,” she said, looking back so our eyes could meet.

“Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't want to be nosy and all that,” I replied with a perfectly practiced fake smile. I've been on it for three days.

“Hmm. Juno, care to elaborate my daughter's brain with this useful information?” She instructed Juno who was walking awkwardly next to me.

“She's a siren,” she said with a little smile on her face.

A siren so comfortable on land? That's weird.

“Not just that, silly. Tell her everything!” She commanded, giving us a withering but excited look.

It was as though she'd been waiting for me to know what she was but I didn't ask. Now that she brought it up, it was like she was a little Christmas tree with all the sparkles in her eyes.

“Oh, I forgot to mention, she's no ordinary one. She's a siren of the pit of Tartarus. She's going to make our world habitable for the old gods,” she explained.

Now that I think about it, one of the powers of a Siren is mind compulsion.

If Juno is under her thumb, then all my escape plans are doomed.

Fucking hell!
